  1. nice stalker pic haha. definitely didnt know you took that. thanks again for hangin out and showing us the bavarian manor, i'm still stuffed from all that food. for all you people who didn't go to hunter today, unless you were riding park at boulder or camelback, the skiing was definitely better at hunter than anything else that's open in PA. it was honestly mid winter conditions. there was even nice snow in the trees.
  2. the battery doesnt last long enough to fill a 32gb card, so unless you plan on having the thing out in the woods for a few days with no access to a computer to dump your footage, save the money and get the 16gb. it holds about 2.5 hours of footage. i think we only filled it one day when we were in utah, and filming park at blue i haven't even come close to filling it.
  3. ask em to give you a discount on the floor demo. and definitely go with the kingston 16gb class 4 card. it's been proven by the gopro folks to work with the camera, whereas a bunch of other cards are a bit fussy. i've had no issues with mine yet. MPEG Stramclip works on a PC as well, but you might have better luck pulling a h.264 .mp4 straight in to adobe premiere, although i'm not sure. you're going to want premiere, i don't think windows movie maker can even work with 1080i video. i used pinnacle studio in the past, but i've read mixed reviews about working with gopro footy using it, although ultimately if you convert it to the proper format before editing, you shouldnt have a problem. the mac workflow is awesome though, because once you convert it to AIC, it's in native final cut video format, so it doesn't have to preview render anything, it all just works. speeds up the editing process times 100.
  4. i'm heading up with rose saturday night after camelback, so we'll be up there.
  5. beat me to it. root, it's all gopro footage, so it comes off the card as h.264 .mp4 files. i then take the clips i want to use into MPEG Streamclip and convert them to AIC .mov files to bring in to final cut pro 6. export to quicktime from final cut pro at full 1080i resolution, then take into compressor and run a compression setting i figured out to work well for Vimeo to drop the filesize to about 10% of the original. now that i got the workflow figured out, i guess i should work on our footage from utah, huh?
  6. peep it!
  7. jeff, have you looked into using phonegap for this at all? either that, or you could just write an iphone specific stylesheet so it looks more app-like?
  8. miller is signed up with me, you clown
  9. done long ago. maybe i'll even put my skates back on once it's done and try it out.
  10. no mention of whether this is applicable to firefox across the board, or windows or osx specific? i see that it's only for version 3.6 though, so older versions are apparently fine.
  11. you can fit obscene amounts of stuff in those seasonal lockers. we had 6 pairs of skis and two sets of gloves, goggles, and helmets in there this weekend. i've fit my full size pack in there plenty of times. if it's any consolation robert, they're building more lockers for next season, so maybe some of those will be wider and more accommodating for snowboard gear, thus would work better for the insane amounts of crap you bring to the mountain.
  12. why don't you have the bus drop you off at the top lodge and use the VIP room? there are a lot of lockers in there, and i'd imagine if there's a complaint about a locker in there, they know it's from a passholder, and would more likely be taken care of in a more efficient manner. also, the main rental shop is up there, as well as all the management, so they're better suited to handling that sort of thing anyway. the place can't be perfect for everyone, and it really seems like you just got unlucky. i don't use a locker often anymore, but when i did i never had any issues at blue. way less of a hassle than the digital lockers that bear and some places i've been out west have. they give you a printout with your locker number and your code on it. if it gets wet while riding and you can't read it, you're more or less screwed.
  13. funny you ask that, cause they canceled it, which is a bummer because in the past, it's been a super fun event with a great turnout. yesterday was fun, i think we got a few decent shots so if i'm not lazy tonight i'll try and throw something together. not sure what the association is, but i won some dave and busters gift cards, so thanks to blue for saving me from buying lunch for two days.
  14. not sure if this is involved in their contract or not, but the way i see it, they're undercutting their employer and violating a hypothetical noncompete clause, if their employment contract were to have such a thing. it's a similar concept to my employer pitching a job at $50,000, and then after the pitch, i contact the potential client privately and offer to do the job freelance for $25,000. that violates the contract i signed when i agreed to work for my company. whether blue has a similar policy, i don't know, but it makes matters much worse if there are multiple parties involved selling tickets through blue mountain's facilities at face value that were intended as a perk to take friends and family on the slopes for free. pretty dirty if you ask me.
  15. gotta love the zinc pollution in those hills...
  16. lip for the airbag looks nice, and that trail is definitely steeper than lower paradise, so that's good. but that box next to it is an absolute waist of every resource involved in it's conception, construction, and setup.
  17. that's because 95% of the stuff people on here suggest is mind-bogglingly retarded.
  18. uhhh.... i was up wednesday night and there was a giant dirt spot at the top of the quad, as well as a dirty sink hole that was marked off after the 2nd jump on blackbear, pretty much right in the runout of the landing. if that's good coverage, blue and boulder must be glacier-like.
  19. pretty sure you can still buy them online. good luck navigating that maze though...
  20. we got more snow the last time we were there and there was a lot of fun stuff. didn't make it to the park til the last run of the day pretty much. basically the trees on everything from tombstone off to skiers right is really fun with a little bit of fresh snow.
  21. this. it's really dumb of me for skiing it without proper avy gear, so feel free to call me out on that, but the stuff off the bootpack up 9990 then to the left through the BC access gate is a super easy hike to waist deep turns days after a storm. there's some fun little cliffs in there too. best part, it all dumps out right at the bottom of 9990 lift for 45 minute - 1 hour backcountry laps.
  22. lots of natural snow, which means they didn't need to blow as much fake snow. natural snow melts much quicker. also i don't recall it closing in on 70 this early last year either.
  23. just curious, why did you hate canyons so much? i've heard it's a little rough on a snowboard due to some of the traverses, but the terrain is infinitely better than mountain creek... although if you don't like trees and just want to ski groomers all day, then you might think otherwise. the trees under the tombstone lift, as well as the stuff off 9990, is pretty fun.
  24. don't lock yourself into LCC and BCC. the canyons, which is in park city (maybe kimball junction, technically) is a lot of fun, but might potentially suck on a snowboard due to the layout of the mountain. there's also super easy backcountry access id you've got the gear for that too. also, definitely check out the odgen areas. we hit snowbasin and powder mountain in january and had an awesome time there. powder mountain is absolutely empty. we were getting fresh tracks every single run on a day that snowbird got tracked by 10am. they're cheaper then snowbird too.
  25. park city's park is usually pretty on point, and canyons is way underrated. not nearly as expansive as PC or the colorado resorts, but still really fun and well built.
