yes. no more considering for you, you're going. $10 + lift + jump + rails = good time.
-
from past experience, the snowmakers from blue that post on skiing forums know complete shit about what goes on up there.
-
i think that box was my least favorite feature there. the landing is completely flat. the first jump on boulder is super fun, we didnt hit the 2nd, but it looked really nice as well. a litlte too windy today to be hitting 50 foot jumps though. lips in the rail park and the area between features got beat up prety quick today.

i lied. i did all the paperwork last night. i'm picking it up tonight cause they had to install the ipod interface and detail it before i take delivery.
-
clearly there is no interest here, but in case anyone sees this and is interested, i'm trading the car in tonight for an 09 impreza hatch.
-
i sucked and got 3rd, dan mcdonald got 2nd, luke domenico got first? i dunno about any other divisions. hopefully the setup is open today, cause it was really fun.

just remember, alcohol kills germs...

so i'm 95% sure i'm getting a new car by the end of the month. if anyone is interested in looking at my current vehicle, hit me up ASAP, otherwise i'll probably trade it.

no turning, only straightlining into jumps.
-
wearing shants while you ski prequalifies you.
-
last i checked, every day is gaper day at blue mountain. someone better have a pair of bigfoots to rock though.
-
i might drown. they upped the amount forecasted to around 40" now. told you i needed hellbents.

check the noaa weather report for mt ogden, utah... then see how much you hate us, since we're skiing basin, which is on mt ogden, with jake on tuesday. http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?l...nit=0&lg=en

kev and i are in utah with the family for a week. since i'm lazy and dont feel like typing out reports or posting photos multiple times in multiple places, i set up a ghetto blog to contain everything. we've skied two days so far, and i posted a few photos from the trip thus far. we're hittin snowbird tomorrow, canyons monday, snowbasin tuesday, and pc wednesday to finish it out. we'll try and keep posting pics daily, but after a few beers and the hot tub, you get kinda lazy, so no promises. check it: http://justinsthomas.com/skiblog/?p=9

pond skimming is on the 22nd, aka last day of the season at blue.

if they are the same size you've used for rentals, they're more than likely too big. go to a shop.

Blue re-visited. My report. Parks still have same issues.
Justo8484 replied to TT C6's topic in Blue Mountain
i quoted toast, not you. i haven't ridden 5 parks in one week like you have, but i have ridden three in one week, several times this year, and blue usually wins out aside from boulder's big jump. blue's park has more flow to it than any other that i've ridden this year except for maybe freedom at times, but that's only rails anyway. your car must be getting pretty horrible gas mileage. i live in philly, and usually ride 3 times a week, and my gas receipts definitely don't add up to $80. granted i'm usually going to blue, but jfbb is not that much farther, and its all highway... -

while i dont agree with the flagrant use of the fancy editor tools... the park report is spot on. i don't get to ride blue on weekdays anymore, and i'm stuck with weekends and nights. every weekend i've been there, i think aside for the last one after we got some rain, the park has been really fun. if i go up at night after work, yeah, stuff gets icy, but so does anywhere in PA. the rails up top are in my opinion set up just as well as almost everything i've hit at boulder this season, aside from the fact that blue doesn't have an urban handrail aside from the dfd. there are no small jumps up top, and the jumps up top, on sidewinder, are accessed by the most comfortable lift in eastern PA. the place can't be judged on a day when conditions in general are not prime. -
at first i thought the p/axial heel was much better than the new px/axial2 heel when the new ones first came out. i was completely sold on the fact that since the new ones didn't 'pivot' they were not as good. having skied the new version on my disorderlys this season, i was wrong. the only way the old binding was better was that it sits lower to the ski and has a slightly shorter mounting pattern. retention is better on the new ones, release is better, and they ski much much better.
-
you were drunk. we'll excuse you. for real, good choice on he axial2 120. much much safer binding.
-
just long enough to see me get murked on a flatbox though... and it was somehow more painful than flatbottoming a 7.
-
i think that's the most sensible thing i've seen you post. i don't think even boulder has steep enough landings on any of their jumps right now.

Buckman's Boulder Bash 2/21/09
Justo8484 replied to johnnypowder's topic in Jack Frost & Big Boulder
likewise. count me in for next year. maybe you guys could do a slopestyle at boulder and a railjam in the mall parking lot if you're feeling a little ambitious? -
you must be rather privileged if you think an extra $400 in your pocket isnt worth your time. even with a full time job, i'd certainly take another $400 on top of my weekly pay. props to bear for stepping up and giving some cash, as well as a ton of gear, for this thing. it's been a fun comp for the past few years and you guys always seem to have more and more product every year.

no way there are going to be 30 skiers though. what kevin is saying is, whats the point in qualifying when you don't need to narrow down the field. for people who don't have a pass to bear it'd suck to have to show up on saturday only to find out that there are 10 skiers and they don't need to do quals.
