i'll be there, in the park.

picnic table thing is has the fdf and the battleship box next to it. the roller flat up flat is all by itself right now, but they've got room for about 5 more rails up top, so we'll see what happens. the jumps arent really stepdowns, they're basically true tables, minus the snow in the middle.
-
stoop. they refer to it as a stoop. much, much classier, obviously.
-
whoever did that will be facing the wrath of newschoolers.
-
there are a lot of wehrs around these parts...

root, you might have liked the hellcats a little more if you had gotten on something where the extra width/stiffness would reward you with more stability. granted, they're really not necessary for blue at all, but i think you would have had more fun on them on challenge or razors where you could have exerted more force on them.

don't say silly things like that. big jumps that are not stepovers up there worry me. we're going to get a remake of the "73' jump" from a few years ago... a massive beautiful lip, with all of 10 feet of landing to work with, which equals disaster, as can be evidenced by ski patrol cleaning up the wreckage after the bottom jump on any given weekend for the rest of the season. please make safe jumps for once?
-
makes sense. its gonna be super cold, so maybe they're actually taking the extra day now to do it right and blow a lot of snow to makes the jumps appropriately sized finally? as long as it's open by saturday morning for opening, i'm ok with it.
-
any ideas on what's going to be built?
-
so are you guys actually going to close sidewinder and blow this week? i was getting mixed responses today from people who were working. it's gonna be absurdly cold this week, so they could actually blow snow without even a sliver of a chance of blowing crappy snow, so please plow sidewinder and build us a 50 foot stepover and put in more rails?
-
in sincerely doubt i will be attending anymore EMS comps. organization was non-existant, i still have no idea who won, and i didn't see any prizes being thrown out all over the place like they kept mentioning. good job andy, tom, and friends for keeping the setup nice, lip coulda been a little farther back from the rail, but overall the setup was fun. but the organization of the event and waiting a minute between every rider was absurd.
-
yeah i looked last night but they turned off the lights. drop box? that wasn't in the other night when i was at bear. or is it the dfd into the tire bonk thing? i see them working on that right now.
-
nice, setup?
-
so how exactly does army navy, or the fact that she wore a frames, have anything to do with her falling on her face? i've hit my face off the end of bear's old y rail while wearing a frames and i got a black eye and bone chip. i'd guess i would have needed reconstructive surgery if i didnt have any goggles on at all. a frames are one of the better goggles on the market as far as eye protection goes.

if greg, bob, or humble are there, they all do great work. can't speak for anyone else, as those are the only three that i know.

open to skiers?

^ you guys are motards. good lookin on the knee. i dont think kevin can wake up and get to the mountain before you leave for the day though. sooooo, is the rebuild happening or what? its gonna be absurdly cold this weekend, would it make more sense to wait til sunday to plow/start blowing since the sky is shitting on blue right now? -
well everyone else seems pretty positive about it, so i'll give it the benefit of the doubt. granted, there was no one on park crew out doing anything when i was there last night, so that might have been part of the problem.
-
maybe its me, but i didn't think anything flowed well at all. rails didnt have landings, lips up to rails were like 20 feet long, just lots of stuff that was slightly awkward, which made stuff not that fun. the general setup is nice, but i just thought there was some spacing issues between features as far as how much speed you needed for one, then you needed to almost come to a complete stop before hitting the next, etc. anyone have any idea what the setup is gonna be for the EMS thing on friday, and whether its open to skiers? website doesnt mention anything really...

park crew, yes. groomers? maybe not so much... keep up the good work guys. stepovers for jumps that size are awesome, get some more simple rail setups like flat bars (40ft double barrel set up urban below the c rail next to the bottom jump, please?), and make the flat down rail a flat down again instead of an up flat. then everything will be right in the world. -

c box is ride on and beat. the last jump is awkward because you actually have to hit it way slower than it seems you should. it looks much bigger than it really is. i don't think i've ever hit a "54 foot" jump so slow in my life. hopefully they get something of decent size up on the rebuild, although with the weather this week, i really don't think/hope it will happen for this weekend. wait till there's a solid week where they can blow a ton of snow and do it right instead of doing it now just to do it... -

yeah, jumps are in the same spot, but with a lot more space between since there are 3 now and not 4 in a row. also, sidewinder i 99% not gonna be open on thursday. they're blowing through mid week and hoping to get it open for saturday morning is what i was told, so i'd place bets on mid day saturday. it's not that it's bad right now, they just did what they could to get it open for the holiday weekend, so there isnt as much stuff, and its not as big as they want it, that's all. the jumpline is actually pretty fun when you get your speed dialed. as long as you clear the first one, straightline the rest and you're golden. -

i dont disagree at all, that's just what they told me. they jump they built for us up at boulder last weekend was measured out for 50 feet and it felt a LOT bigger than what blue's got. -
correct. is it gonna be good to go at 8 or are they gonna open it randomly at 11:43 or something like switchback today? i'd like to get a run or two on it before the invasion gets there, especially since you need to hit the top half of paradise to get to it.
