  1. looks like meadow skipping to me
  2. did you use a chisel to make those holes? a brand new ski with a half sharp drill bit should not chew up the topsheet like that. so either liberty's construction is still shit, or...
  3. looks like a toyota MR2
  4. what'd ya get? can't show a box without an accompanying unboxing photo!
  5. i've never heard someone sound so hot and bothered while skiing before
  6. someone sent this, right? 🤔
  7. maybe still caught in the netting?
  8. went down to the beach to catch a valentine's day swell tomorrow and woke up to my car covered in a nice icy shell this morning. i ❤️ 30° and raining. this is the east coast weather i'm used to, so glad we're finally back to reality...
  9. Why do grown adults call them tendies? Like, you're not five; stop.
  10. Yeah that one's tracking way too far north/inland for my liking at the moment. Enjoy the snow on the ground now while it lasts.
  11. Yeeeeaaaah you did. That noise still haunts me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. won't disagree about dry bases, but if you're a 27.5 boot and he's a 26.5, unless those bindings were mounted on the short side for your boots, they'll adjust down to a 26.5 in 2 minutes. also, @saltyant is like the same height as me, probably a bit heavier. 186 in a softer, rockered ski is perfectly fine. the vantage skis shorter than the listed length, for sure.
  13. People in NJ don’t know how to drive in the snow. Fight me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Wtf was with that dude pushing his kid around in the lot? We saw him yesterday too! As someone with a small child, blues parking lot is pretty low on my list of places I’d like to take them for a stroll. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Your Lincoln log game is strong. That’s a nice chalet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Took a little detour today and tried to follow in@toast21602’s footsteps. Thanks for breaking trail the other day! Snow was absolutely f’d. 1” sun crust, 2-3” of heavy wet dense queso, then the untouched dry underneath. Some of the most difficult snow I’ve ever tried to turn in. Too bad some xc nerd completely trenched your skin track. Stream crossing getting a little technical, but didn’t have to take the skis off at least. Hoping these smaller storms over the next week get things back in good shape. I saw a few other little zones that look like they could be pretty fun. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. So you’re the one who kicked up all the rocks between the bumps. And yeah, woods... I think a lot of that might be in play right now. Might test it tomorrow. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. yup, wouldn't mind if blue implemented something similar full time. race parents would flip though if they couldn't occupy 17 tables for the entire day in the top lodge.
  19. they'd be a great blue mtn daily driver, i'd think. narrow enough to carve a turn, wide enough with some rocker to be decent in soft snow/crud, and not super stiff. for all the reasons doug @GrilledSteezeSandwich doesn't like them, i think a lot of people might.
  20. my understanding was that time limits give more people access to sit down and eat, not because you magically get sick at the 31 minute mark, regardless of what that sign might say or imply
  21. didn't realize you had a 27.5 boot, @GrilledSteezeSandwich. Coulda sworn you were a 28.5 like @toast21602. Vantage sounds like a fun ski, but I'm probably lowest on the list of people who need/deserve it except for maaaybe @Johnny Law. Speaking of which, I'd be very curious to ski the black crows; I assume you have em mounted for a 28.5 though?
  22. if it's right next to the edge, that does make the edge a little more prone to injury so you might wanna fill it in. take a photo and let's see what you're working with here?
  23. Do you see wood or fiberglass through the gouges in your bases? If not, rock and roll. Anything else is superficial and will make your skis marginally slower (@AtomicSkier response in 3... 2... 1...), but it's not gonna ruin your skiing unless you've got plastic hanging off the bases.
  24. So i thought about it some more, and I think it has to do with the fact that my boots have a DIN sole, not a 9523 touring sole, which is a bit thicker. There's little shoulder nubs on the binding right in front of the pins that should align the toe lug, but since my soles are thinner, I think they drop down into the toe piece ever so slightly too far to be able to just seamlessly step into them. Gotta see if there's a toe height adjustment I can fiddle with which should solve the issue, I think.
  25. oh man that sucks. it definitely took me a while to be back to normal. i was skiing again after like 2-3 weeks, but i was on camera duty for a few more weeks, not skiing really hard or hitting and jumps or rails or anything for a bit.
