  1. i'll pay your entry fee for any one of the rail jams...
  2. big air was awesome!
  3. i have a holiday party for work to go to that night, and seeing as how i've only been with the company for about a month, i can't skip it. lame.
  4. we shall see. i'll be happy if they just set stuff up well and close it off to people not participating so we can hit a good setup without fear of landing on a three year old and their clueless parents.

why do you all expect to get into a competition for free because you have a pass? no where else lets you into comps for free just because you have a season pass. if they let everyone in for free, there would be no money for the prizes.
  6. thats exactly my point. no one buys atomic or palmer twins.
  7. seths with dukes is a sick setup. i'd recommend the seth over either the mantra or gotama for you for the sheer fact that even as an advanced skier's ski, the seth is still really easy to ski at slower speeds, which is not the case for the manta (don't know about the gotama, but from what i've heard, its true for them as well.) i have a pair of seths and love them, since they're great in soft snow, and still skiable on the groomers around here. the only thing they're not so hot in is really beat up cruddy frozen/thawed/refrozen stuff because of the soft tip. dukes ski really well, but are certainly not cheap.
  8. so... atomic and palmer as ski sponsors... sweeeeeeeet
  9. p e r s i m m o n. sorry, i had to do it, it bugs the crap out of me.
  10. just curious, why do you say flash is garbage? while boulder's site definitely could have (and probably should have) been done primarily with css, since there's nothing really dynamic animation wise, flash certainly has its uses as well. when used correctly, there's not really a downside to it.
  11. i have a wagon as well, and it has a cover that you can pull from the back of the seats to the hatch. i would assume that this counts as my 'trunk'? i'm over 21 and i dont smoke though, so i guess its not really an issue for me.
  12. blue gets retarded temperature inversions all the time. if they can start blowing snow down at the bottom but not at the top yet, why not? that will just get the lower portion of the mountain open soon to give us top to bottom riding. you can't tell from the webcam where else they are blowing, so it might be all over the mountain.
  13. wow. thats about 97 times better looking than their old site. design wise, its pretty nice. i would have spiced things up with a complimentary color thrown around in there somewhere to break up the monochromatic scheme, but it still looks pretty good. my only gripes are the load time, how heavy it is on your PC, and the scroll bar. even on my fast internet connection, it took over a minute to load, which is a stretch. also, it's pretty processor intensive to have the site open and navigate around the content. both of those issues could be fixed up with some better optimization techniques, or, depending on how the site's set up now, having more smaller files instead of one large one, that way you could be loading in key areas of the site while other content loads in the background as needed. also, by using flash to created the scrollbar, they took away its usefulness. they didn't put the functionality back in for PC users, and they're going to have a hell of a time getting it to work for a mac, god knows i've been trying to figure that one out for a month at work. sorry for the longwinded post, but i finally get a paycheck to do web development now.
  14. modus operandi? gangstar?
  15. the shop should remount them if they screwed up and it was noted somewhere that you wanted them at traditional. as far as the mounting point goes, i havent skied that ski in particular, so i cant say where it skis best, but most twins will still ski all mtn pretty well at the 'freestyle' position. for example, i have my silencers mounted at +7.5 and they still ski all mountain fairly well. my seths are at +5 and ski all mountain really well. i'd say if its not more than +$ past traditional, leave them where they're at, it will make them easier to ski at lower speeds with your kids and a lot easier to ride around switch.
  16. you beat me to it... and tretiak, i'm pretty confident most people could figure out how to hit the start and stop buttons on the lift in about 23 seconds, but if blue needs two weeks to show a video, thats cool too.
  17. so mike, your skis are practically mint. that looks like a tiny chunk out of the topsheet. get a blade, cut off whatever's hanging off the ski, sand it with a rough grit sandpaper, and put some 24 hour epoxy on it, and you're done. i wish i had a picture of KT's skis to post right now to show you what the wonders of epoxy can do to a ski. his skis have more epoxy on the base than base material. and my invaders were glued back together weekly, with three layers of duct tape for added security. line's skis are super fun, but i pray they have their durability issues fixed.
  18. count me and kev in.
  19. john is the best original hater though.
  20. ha we never claimed it to be great. first day back on skis for the season, first day using a new camera none of us were used to yet, and shitty lighting. you were expecting warren miller/msp/level 1 quality? were you there riding?
  21. four in one season, you clown.
  22. it really depends what you're looking for. they are both moderately stiff, even flexing all mountain twins. they PE is a little bit wider, a little but more torsionally stiff, and a little bit better in softer snow because of its width. the silencer is a little quicker edge to edge because of its narrower waist, and i find that also makes it more nimble for rails, but the extra width of the PE is nice for stability on jumps. also, the PE is about $150 more than the silencer. both have full wood cores, fast durable bases with thick edges, and tip and tail rivets to keep the skis from delamming. since you're looking for an all mountain twin, you can't really go wrong with either one, as they're both fun skis. the PE definitely skis like a more expensive ski than the silencer though.
  23. actually, the PE did change for this season. k2 is using a urethane sidewall under foot, which makes the ski more damp, and it also helps absorb rail impact better than an abs sidewall. like trevor said, salomon bindings work well for lighter weight guys or people who arent tough on their gear. they ski great and release very accurately, but i havent had great luck with durability. i agree that the PE is a better all mountain ski for sure, mostly due to it's width, but for 299, the silencer is not bad at all. i'd definitely recommend either of them as a solid all mountain twin that can take a huge beating. as far as all lines skiing like crap.... i've skied a lot of their different skis throughout the years and their stuff has come a long way. the new chronics ski infinitely better than the outgoing model, the invaders are tons of fun in the park, the chronic blends were a sick all mountain ski, and the elizabeth/bacon/ep pro look like they'd be awesome if i had a reason to own a ski that wide as well.
  24. silencers. they come from the old PE mould, but they only cost $299. those or nothin but troubles are hands down the best bang for your buck on any ski shop wall.
