they're good at responding if you criticize them in any way...

sounds good keith! the 60 foot rail sounds excellent, thats the sort of stuff that i really like to ride. thank god the crackerbarrel is being retired! the new rollercoaster box looks like it could be pretty fun, and so does the down flat down. any chance you guys can start building stuff with round coping instead of square? the inward kink on the dfd might be a little rough with how harsh the angle is on the square tubing on the sides. everything's looking sick so far though!

new rail's sick. its like blue's flat down, but longer, smoother, and mellower. good stuff for sure.

its a different environment in the freeride section of the market. sure, you have guys like tanner and dumont who have made their careers by competing, and winning events like the x games, us open, etc. however, you also have guys like eric pollard, sage catabriga alose, and andy mahre, who don't really compete at all, and are pushing the freeride scene just as hard, but just in a different direction. you dont necesarily have to compete to stay in the game, whereas in racing, that's really the only facet of the sport that matters, is having the fastest time. just two completely different sides of the sport.

1. the butter box is tiny in comparison to the length of boxes elsewhere. 2. from my experience, s rails are easier than 2 boxes, because you are not forced to ride the rail at a specified angle, like you are on a box. the angle of the box almost forces you to hit it at a certain speed if you want to clean it, whereas with a rail, you can hit it as fast or slow as you want and just compensate for your speed by leaning into the curve of the rail. that said, s rails are not that fun.

doug, i wouldnt count on the sprayer bc being your crud ski. they're pretty soft, which means they'll be bouncing around in crud a bit. my seths do too, since the tip is so soft, so you more or less ride on top of it, instead of plowing through it. and dont get axium bindings. no fully grown man should ski that binding. as far as i'm concerned, its a junior binding with a burlier spring. get a pair of px12s for those skis. or rossi axial2 120s, since they're the same binding, and having a look/rossi binding on that ski doubles your warrenty!

those skis are nice and buttery. you should enjoy them. and good job buying a legit size!
-
that one's understood. we all want it, but there's slim to no chance it will happen.
-
just out of curiousity, was it the sprayer bc, or the sprayer bc pro? and what size did ya get doug?
-
thats an interesting development. will ryan neptune try and jump through a banner and break something in the process for the opening procession of the comp or something along those lines?

we just got some new k2 helmets in yesterday. we got the clutch, rant, and shadow in stock. i like the rant a lot, its the one i had mentioned with the mini-brim, which has a notch for wearing your goggles under the helmet. kinda looks wierd at first, but its really comfy, and only $60. and for all the hunters out there, we brought them in in this obnoxious blaze orange camo print... i'll be getting the off white version.

yes, i do actually compete in that many comps. and the team comp boulder did, where snowboarders and skiers rode with each other and competed against each other, was probably the most fun comp i did last year, and i could almost guarantee that anyone else involved would agree with me on that.

good idea, we can just turn sidewinder into a parking lot.
-
sick. sunday morning. lets make it a date, we can pack a picnic lunch and then paint some pink carebears on the side of the bus.
-
dan, i noticed you left a few things out in your rather detailed and impressive idea of how the park should be laid out. i like it a lot, and that would be all peachy, but we need to burn the bus and swingset to the ground first, cause there's no way that blue will go up there and move the things off the trail. honestly, the bus could have been cool as a wall ride type feature. it can take the swingset, crackerbarrel, s box, and all the square coping platter boxes along on the journey. oh, and the 'big' wallride too.
-
i have a giro 9.9, since that's fit me better than pretty much anything else i've found. i'm interested in the new helmet k2 came out with for this season with the mini visor though. like the bern baker, but it will actually offer some protection.
-
well that explains everything. surprising he didn't try and get hot topic on board as a clothing/accessory sponsor.
-
in no way do i see it as my responsibility to do boulder's PR department's job for them. blue and bear dont seem to have any problems getting it done.
-
i was up at blue earlier today. sadly, i didnt see any new rails sitting around, but they could have still been in the garage if anything new has been made. it looks like they have the new trail seeded, so maybe there's still hope for this year, but i doubt it.
-
yeah, there are fatter skis, but the pontoons are alse rockered, with a rediculous sidecut that makes them more or less unskiable on anything but snow at least a foot deep.
-
the team comp was originally going to be snowboard only til enough of us emailed them saying how retarded that was. if you can't see that boulder heavily favors their snowboard client
-
i honestly wouldnt get anything besides oakley or smith. yeah, they cost more, but you get what you pay for. they use more comfortable foam against your face, they vent better so they fog up less, and the optics are far and away better than everyone else on the market. the difference between an oakley or smith spheric lense and a flat lense from a company like anon or spy or electric is huge as far as your field of vision, and the clarity of what you're seeing.

we sold the 179s last year. the 189 should sell when glenn hurricane schwartz calls for a big nor'easter to dump 6 inches on the poconos though.
-
awesome. i see that boulder still hasnt realized that skiers are people too.
-
jeff, you ride race skis, atomics no less... this kid's lookin for real skis haha anyway, like kev said, we do two demo days every year at blue with a bunch of different skis. there's the odd chance that we'd have demos of the skis you're looking for in the shop, but there's a fee to demo them out of the shop if its not on a set demo day. what type of ski are you looking for exactly? all three you listed would be classified as all mountain twins, but they're all pretty different. also, the mojo 80 doesnt exist this year. its something new, don't remember the name. i'd take the 90 over the 80 any day though.
