Took the dog for a walk to catch the Blue Angels and Thunderbirds. Saw them fly over 3 times. It was pretty cool..one of the most exciting things to happen in the last 45 days

Our company is very concerned about this - as a pharma company we are essential and luckily so far have had no major issues. Both plants have been running very close to normal. We dont want employees leaving the plant because they can make more money on unemployment than actually working. If employees start leaving, we won't be able to run the plants properly. its all so crazy.

That''s good to know. I'm listed as essential for my office and I had to get to work yesterday to grab files I needed but didn't see a cop on my drive in. I knew they had that starting at 8am yesterday but good to know that they are reinforcing it. What a weird time to be alive. Philly has definitely taken the stay at home order more serious. About 1.5 weeks ago, I ran to FDR park and there were 2 soccer games and tennis courts packed. Idiots. We took the dog for a long walk Sunday and the city was very very quiet. Mostly people walking dogs or carrying groceries bags.

My trip report is super detailed. We skied, we ate, we drank, we napped. It was the first time skiing in about 3 years and it felt great.

Skied whiteface last weekend for the first time - super cool east coast mountain. Great snow coverage. Mountain was not 100% open but the trails were well maintained and little to no ice. Also tried skinning Sunday morning which was super awesome. Hard but well worth it. In case you make plans to visit Lake Placid or Whiteface - my brother and sister in law own a house 10 min driving distance to mountain and 20 min drive to Lake Placid. Nice cabin feel and pet friendly : Link to VRBO

I'm still not even sure how I found this site 15 years ago. Although I haven't skied with any of you in the past few years, PASR has been a super awesome site to be apart of. I don't chime in too often but enjoy reading all (well, most) of your posts.

yoga is amazing. If you've never done a hot yoga class, you guys are missing out. 30 girls in spandex pants and fancy sport bras bending and folding in different ways. What guy wouldn't like that

I have two friends that live in Key West. They are packing as much shit as they can and assuming they will need to make a new life somewhere else for a few months if not forever lol. They had one last fun last night out though. no tourists, just locals out drinking.

leggings and Ugg season is rapidly approaching.

Favorite restaurant in Steamboat is called Laundry. Make sure you at least grab a drink and app there.

I know this will come as a shock to many but I won't be up to ski this weekend
-
So what I meant was I skied Aspen Snowmass aka Snowmass and nothing else.
-
Aren't there like four mountains included in Aspen/Snowmass area?
-
I've been to a few of mountains (not just in CO) but over a 15 year period so it's hard to say. I barely remember some of the mountains. I do remember really enjoying Breckenridge. For the past 4ish years though, I've only been to Steamboat. I also never skied Aspen - we went for dinner one night or something while in Snowmass. I forget I've been to: Steamboat Breck Park City Squaw Alpine Meadows Heavenly North Star Might have gone to one or two others but can't remember.

Steamboat is decent. Not my favorite mountain but I enjoy it. My parents go out for a trip every winter because we have friends that have a place (house in town and a timeshare) there so they usually meet up. We have our favorite restaurants and bars in town. We have our favorite runs. It's fairly routine when we are there. It's an easy trip for me to tag on along on so I have advantage of it.

Maybe I'll show up

Yup. Hayden to Dallas to Philly. We had dinner with friends in town last night then three of us stayed out for a bit. I was hurting this morning. Kinda mad at myself for missing first tracks but there's always next year. I hope to make my way up to Blue soon.
-
Well I'm headed home today. I was planning on doing first tracks this morning before heading to the airport but I was really hungover so I missed my chance. Oh well. Back to Philly I go.

Nope, my parents just rent a condo every year. They always books early so it's fairly cheap.

Perfect Sunday. Absolutely beautiful today. Felt like spring skiing today. 9:00-1:45 today Wish I could stay out for a few more runs but my legs are tired and my face is burnt.

I'll be in steamboat today through Tuesday for a long weekend of skiing with my folks. Steamboat should have the best snow its had in a few years. I think this is the 3rd or 4th year in a row going. Although it isn't my favorite mountain, I never pass up a practically free trip. I'm currently on Dallas for a layover. Ready for a big breakfast and a beer. Can't make any promises that I'll have any follow up trip deets or pics but I'll try.

Most starting salaries are still between 35-40k. I have one friend who was 58k straight out of college at Dupont. Companies like Dupont can spend that kind of money though. All depends on degree, experience, specialties, industry. Also when you look at a total compensation package, more money isn't necessarily better. Benefits, flexibility, bonus program, and all that go a long way nowadays. I have expensive hobbies, love vacations and have a dog that goes to daycare so more money the better for me.

I'll make my grand reappearance maybe late February. But yes, I will only go when my ski idols are in the house.

I'm glad I wasn't there too.
