Hit on a dry fly definitely counts.

What were they hitting on?

Spent a bluebird day yesterday, skiing with the kids in the morning and grandkids in the afternoon. Not quite frozen cord in the morning up top, mashed potatoes lower down in the afternoon. No bowls, but a lot of ponderosa pines. Well maintained, good logistics, kind of an upscale type of place, a Sierra’s Park City with a hotel lower mid mountain. Shuttle from the parking lots worked well, light lift lines and slopes not crowded up top. Cross country trip went well, except they closed 80 in Wyoming for us when we hit Green River due to extreme blow over risk for campers. So we detoured down 191 past Flaming gorge to Rt 40 and over to SLC. Big storm coming in to Truckee tonight so we are making discretion the better part of valor and heading out this afternoon. Don’t want to have to put the chains on this beast.

Been working on early edging the past couple of weeks, need to trust my skis more to crank up the edge angle. My top speed on that run was 43, so I wasn’t trying anything too extreme.

I think I concentrated on getting a really good first turn at the start of Floyd’s head wall, and then tried to dump some speed the next couple of turns

NM was closed. Looks like they are taking out some of the large features on nightmare. They took a lot of trash from the Main St lift. Main was starting to soften up around 11. Razors was still a block of ice with any loose stuff on the head wall being blown up off the hill. It was grate. Seeded bumps skiers left on Razors, took out the lower section of bumps on Main. Hopefully will blow some snow tonight.

As long as you asked for it….. The target ranges are for me to advance to the next SkiIQ level, and since I am at the bottom of my current level, the targets are quite a stretch for me. I was working on early edging on this run. I paused at the top of Floyd’s, so Solitude wasn’t included in this interval.

Do you want the short version or the data dump?

Warmer on Wednesday, 37 at the start, 55 at 11. Maybe 50 cars in the lots. IMG_1081.mov

Ski IQ of 131. A higher average reading for me. Only one run on Floyd’s today. Working on early forward movement. Still a long way to go on that metric. Early forward movement and early edging can be a little scary

Nice morning 3/18. A little rough from the rain yesterday, but they had groomers out on Exhibition first thing. 30 degrees at 9, 55 at 1. Overall good conditions.

Although JF is still open weekdays even with minimal crowds, at least.

Days closed for cost control gets subtracted from last day bragging rights.
