Wonder if you have run into my sister-in-law at one of the Lehigh Valley vaccine events. Probably a ton of people doing them. Ricki retired as a nurse a couple of years ago, but is volunteering with LVHS.

Great season. Glad to meet all you guys.

It is 65+, or younger with certain conditions. Wife and I were fully vaccinated, plus 2 weeks. Visited the grandkids for the first time since September. Promptly came down with head and chest colds. The just in case Covid test was negative.

Their season pass page has the slogan “you can start your epic adventure”. Are they teasing us? No mention of the Epic pass.

In the new Riteaid store?
-
I was there, keeping a low profile with my brother in law. Left about 11. Still not too soft in shady areas.

*snow. Personally, I had a pretty deep snore depth about 4 this afternoon.
-
Yep, 3 so far. Proud grandpa.

It’s one thing to have caution about a new technology (mRNA vaccines) and another reject it because of conspiracy fears.
-
Seemed to be surveyors at the top of the high speed lifts this morning. Might have just been checking snore depth.

Depends how much Barb stands up for the employees. Everything is negotiable.

Going to the 2002 SLC Olympic cross country ski venue on the Heber Creeper.
-
Wouldn’t have control of capital expenditures but could have a fair amount of freedom in day to day operations.

Ever ride on the Heber Creeper?

If they ever wanted to get funding for a hotel or water park they would need a venture capital firm. The consulting start up firm I worked for originally had 4 partners and about 10 consultants. One was a ‘silent’ partner that provided the funding and the other 3 ran the company. But in order to grow they sold part ownership to a small and then to a midsize venture capital. The partners still run things, and in fact ‘took over’ management of a smaller consulting group they already had. There are about 300 consultants now all around the world from buying out other small consultant groups and folding them in. I wonder if the decision to stop free over 70 passes was a precondition to the sale.

BM might need some venture capital to finance expansion. Doesn’t sound like they would merge with CB. Their ski property lists JF/BB, Hunter, Wisp ands Northstar at Tahoe.

53 on Challenge lower down out of the wind. Trying to ski like my hero Jeff with a low carving profile. Of course, since I was keeping low the GPS might not be too accurate. 46 on Main Street. I just linked Slopes up to Strava a couple of weeks ago.

Skied until after 1. Razors and Challenge never softened up. Switchback was completely smooth like Telly Savalas’ chrome dome. Got a little soft up top and very soft at the bottom by the time I left. Some loose stuff on Sidewinder left side but right side was still frozen cord. The wind never really let up, was an effort to get over to razors. Corral never got past the inside ropes. Skied 27 runs, personal bests on Strava on Challenger, Nightmare and Main Street even with the wind. Conditions were really easy on the knees which is why I got so many runs in. Silver helmet guy showed up later. Good time had by all.

This year may be different. Usually spring school sports pull people away from the ski areas. Not so much this year I think.

But this year they would have to refund all the reserved tickets. -
Actually, after I drip the wax on and iron it in for 5 minutes or so, I use about 4 foot of fiberlene between the iron and the ski to adsorb the excess wax, pulling fresh paper under the iron as I go down the length of the ski. Leaves very little to be scraped and is less messy. Usually I skip scraping and just roto brush it if is not spring skiing. Thought about building a hotbox, but never got around to it.

If that is a serious question, it is usually a tube that goes over an axle or rod where it goes through a bearing, so that the bearing will wear out the replaceable bushing rather than the metal of the axle. -
I’m kind of an equipment freak, so keep that in mind, everything is IMHO. I hot wax every week. You want the wax to adsorb into the sintered ptex base, and not have it merely on the surface where the first couple of runs takes it off. In fact, after waxing you want to scrape and then brush off the wax from the surface so the structure (the pattern on the bases) is exposed and helps to break the suction between the ski and the snow, especially in spring. The stop/go, stop/go in slushy snow is usually due to the suction and not the wax. I try to stick with non-floro broad range hydrocarbon waxes for cost and exposure safety reasons. I hot wax for 5 or 10 minutes, scrape, and then roto brush them out. When you really want to wax often is in cold weather icy conditions when you can burn your skis, and get a whitish strip along your edges from high speed runs (I don’t have to worry about that as much any more :-). You know you have a good wax job when you coast from the quad to Main Street passing everyone when everyone else is pushing or skating I put a soft warm weather wax on at the end of the season and don’t scrape it off, and rub a thick layer on the edges so they won’t be rusty next winter. I silicone spray the bindings, but don’t back off on the binding springs after that one year I forgot to tighten them back up. Pretty amusing for the people watching.

Fortunately Atomic and Benm left some snow on the right side of Razors when they burned up the rest of the slope. ;-) 10 great runs before calling it a day at 11. Hard to know which line would be faster, season pass or the other lines. Seemed to be a big ski club there. Fog never totally cleared up top. No problem on the slope though. -

Feeling the love today after yesterday. . Chemically stripped the warm wax off my skis, fibertexed the bases, rewaxed, and touched up the bases. 9 great runs down Razors. Paradise and Sidewinder were good too. Switchback OK, but lower Main Street pretty icy. Challenge was good, but started getting skied off. Falls was a little icy. No crowds to speak of. Got pretty quiet around 11.
