  1. We have a little group that parks in the corner and pulls out their camp chairs to boot up. Got complimented on my fold up rocking chair yesterday. Occasionally have to use the bathroom and am scared of the hand driers. Story about a nurse that dressed up for her hospital around the holidays as a fan powered inflatable Christmas tree and spread Covid to practically everyone on the floor. Wife and I are a little achy after our second Moderna shot yesterday, but no major reactions so far.
  2. Welcome to the geezer side.
  3. Left at 10:30 and still no lines. Maybe the crowds will start to die down. Widowmaker was nice just before I left. Something flashed by me on Razors, didn’t quite catch what it was ;-)
  4. Trust a corporation? Oh, my sweet summer child.
  5. Went up the quad first thing, there was a line of 3 or 4 people for the VIP gate, so I went to another gate that was open. When the VIP gate opened up, it must have been a good minute before any of the other gates open. Reminded me of bull riding at the rodeo, waiting for the gate to open.
  6. Fortunately I was nice and loose when I hit the first one, otherwise I would have been a homesick angel.
  7. I think that if you are virtually guaranteed not to die from the virus, the J and J shot will be popular.
  8. Holding down the fort. Great conditions, smooth with enough loose snow for turning. Stayed later, but the VIP lines moved pretty fast. Paradise was in great shape for the first run, Sidewinder was great also, but they groomed in some small rollers. Challenge looked a little rough, they must have done a fair amount of work on it last night. Waited until 10 to run it to let it warm up. Top slope in the sun was nice, but once you hit the shade it was teeth rattling frozen cord. Run of the day was Razors. Nice at the start and just kept getting better. Never made it over to the west side.
  9. In Edinburg Scotland they bricked up a plague infested alley and left all the people inside to die.
  10. Many photos from that spot. My son 15 years ago. Looking at the picture, those are the ski boots I’m wearing now.
  11. They are doing a really nice job on the gravel in the south side lot.
  12. When I used to work the 11 to 7 shift at the chemical plant a window air conditioner on high was my go to.
  13. Kept being a line of people at the VIP gate this morning trying to get through, even with a sign at the start of the orange room. Then saw a guy with a tablet at the opening the VIP gate for day pass people and explaining to them it was for season pass holders only. No problems after that.
  14. I’ll bet he really bloomed after high school.
  15. Red coats put up a warning sign on Challenge after numerous yard sales on the icy spot. Also one on Main Street, but not as amusing from the chair. Loved Razors, the wind coming up the hill slowed me down on the first head wall so I could carve my turns instead of skid them. Sidewinder held up real well - longer than my legs did. Super flat all over. Left at 12:30 after 20 runs.
  16. 50 dollar voucher for returning season pass holders when buying a new pass?
  17. Bose sleep buds are ridiculously expensive, but they work great.
  18. I have an account with my card number on it, so I add the day to the card online the night before, park opposite the Challenge chair slope side (unfortunately not running weekdays), put my boots on, walk 50 feet and am on my way down the slope. Twice the price for a daily ticket compared to last year, but still not to bad for over 65s. Haven’t checked for my ticket yet mid week.
  19. Once the frozen cord warmed up a little, conditions were perfect for my RTMs all over the mountain. Put in an extra 5 runs this morning.
  20. Decided give myself a break from the crowds and mask problems at Blue and head up to JF. 38 degrees at 9, and 48 when I left at noon. Sunny and no wind. Conditions great and held up well. Challenge glade, Elevator and Mad Tree looked good, but I stayed on the E Mtn groomers. Floyds was in great shape and there were tracks in Risk It. They groomed out the middle and bottom of Floyd’s pretty wide, so had a good time doing side to side high edge turns. The flats in the sun started getting sticky, so I headed home. Just about time to give the skis a spring structure. E Mtn lift ran full at the end, but no lift lines anywhere.
  21. The problem with LED walkway lights is they don’t melt the snow once they get buried. Good thing is I haven’t had to replace a bulb since I switched over 10 years ago.
  22. Nice day today, although it crowded up fast. Quad was closed right at opening, although fortunately it opened up soon after. Hard not to have 3 people on the 6er when it gets crowded. All slopes were in good shape. Left when the Main Street chair started getting backed up just before 11. Warmer today and not as windy.
  23. Widowmaker had untracked powder until I left around 11, a lot of fun. Good to talk to you guys. My eyesight isn’t the best, and I’ve always had problems recognizing faces, so I’m not ignoring you. Especially if you switch skis. Just hit me over the head with your ski pole to get my attention. On another subject, looks like bridge tolls are coming on 80.
  24. No lift lines during the week, but the quad at the bottom of tbolt is usually not running, so you need to take the East mountain lift or exhibition lift.
