Nice day today, although it crowded up fast. Quad was closed right at opening, although fortunately it opened up soon after. Hard not to have 3 people on the 6er when it gets crowded. All slopes were in good shape. Left when the Main Street chair started getting backed up just before 11. Warmer today and not as windy.

Widowmaker had untracked powder until I left around 11, a lot of fun. Good to talk to you guys. My eyesight isn’t the best, and I’ve always had problems recognizing faces, so I’m not ignoring you. Especially if you switch skis. Just hit me over the head with your ski pole to get my attention. On another subject, looks like bridge tolls are coming on 80.

A good time had by all.

I thought the slopes were in pretty good shape today with the massive exceptions of Challenge and Razors. Top slope of Razors looked like someone deliberately tried to make it unskiable. Down near the jumps was better. Challenge was ok, but nowhere near as good as yesterday. With the rough condition of those two, I was pleasantly surprised at Sidewinder, Lazy, Switchback and Main Street. Highspeed lifts started getting backed up at 9:40, and the double had a line when I got over there around 10. Think I got the first civilian run down challenge. Been noticing the quad starts a couple of minutes before the six pack. Just before the announcement, when the 6er starts just after. Watching Schiffern win the combined right now and the men ski out on the slalom run.

Practical physics classes today.

Started clearing up around 10 today so I headed out for a few runs. Pretty quiet, no line on the quad all morning. Spent all my time on Razors and Challenge. Nice conditions. Got a little soft around noon with temp around 50. Coming Soon was closed. A lot of teenagers out today.

Conditions today portend good things for the weekend. Thought we would have some sun today, but it clouded up right at 9. Challenge was crunchy but good first run. Razors was surprisingly open today. Maybe they want to ski off the loose stuff before the race Sunday and next Fri, Sat, Sun. Conditions were great on the slope, but as I was heading up to go over to the Main Street area around 10, a kid wiped out on one of the jumps and hit pretty hard, ski patrol was working with him. Crowded at the start, I was second in line and there were a half dozen behind me. Got crowded fast, and Main Street lift had a line when I got there. Widowmaker and Sidewinder was nice.

On the bright side, apparently normal flu is almost nonexistent this year.

First run on Challenge today was probably the best ever. Starting to really like Widowmakers too.

That would really freak people out.

Don’t think so, we are rolling over our Icon passes to next year. Taking a trip to CA in May to see the west coast grandkid. Maybe a quick trip to Tahoe. You are probably right, there was a spike in the speed graph that was probably an artifact. Was at the bottom of the hill in the gully at that point and might have lost satellite view.

Same thing on Challenge. Really really sweet first run, then so-so half hour later. Did a couple weeks in KC for their water system QA software. Also at the Unilever packaging plant outside of town. Nice BBQ.

Wifey and I got Moderna vaccine last Thursday at Weis in Brodheadsville. No unusual reaction. A couple weeks after second shot scheduled for 3/4 and we should be golden (except for the South Africa variant).

Integrated low ride Marker demo bindings. Easy big turns 40 mph run down Floyd’s, still some stash on the sides. Risk it looks overgrown though. Hit 58 on Rivershot last drop.

True packed powder day. No teeth rattling frozen cord today. No ice at all. 16 degrees, mostly cloudy. East Mountain lift mostly full, but no line. Quad not running. Soft cord, Elevator, Challenge glade, Mad Tree glade all looking good. Spent my time on the groomers. Challenge was nice and consistent, Tbolt was groomed with rollers before the drops so could get some air if you wanted to.

A couple of inches early morning, just light flurries at 9, kind of a light freezing mist to mess up the goggles, then the snow picked up again around 11. Light crowd, still no lift lines when I left at 10:30, but my goggles kept freezing up. First few runs were really nice from the valley, but the snow got cut up pretty quick. Main Street, Switch Back and Widow Maker were still in good shape when I left.

Razors and Challenge were nice, but like GSS said, Widowmaker was the fun run. Skied to about 10:45 when the double chair started getting backed up n

You are probably right, the JF condo people don’t hit the slopes until 10. Since the don’t have to drive home, they will probably party hardy, and sleep in.

Bundled up a little extra today, 14 degrees and the wind howling on top. Top of razors swept bare, but the wind wasn’t too bad once you got down in the trees. Fortunately I used the carbide cutters on the edges last night, so ice was nice. Snow was nice on NMDW, but it was a pain avoiding the features. Sidewinder and Lazy Mile had OK snow. Marbles on Challenge, but not as bad as last Friday. Razors was the run of the day. Called it a day at 10:15 when the lines started building up, and was sandblasted by snow chips coming up off the top of razors.

If Blue puts in condos, the lift lines will be packed at opening.

Sidewinder was def the run of the day. Kind of lights out on the bottom half early on, but flat enough to absorb any unseen bumpyness. Stayed on the Main St lift.

Nice on Monday. Was lazy today, so after a warmup run on Paradise to get the knee oil running (Sidewinder closed due to blowing snow), I spent the morning on Razors and the quad. Excellent shape. Challenge seemed to have been widened, but I figured it couldn’t be better than Razors was this morning. Plus there were marbles on the falls.

I use the dry cleaner/laundromat in the ShopRite in Brodheadsville, but as was mentioned any dry cleaner can do alterations.
