Check the local 15 day forecast. As soon as Christmas is over temps are great every night and in like 3 days in the day time and January 1st predicted snow! Yes, ladies and gentlemen. S-N-O-W! Although these weathermen don't know shit, but its always nice to have high hopes.

I dont really think there is any competition. They are both flat rails except Blues is harder because it is skinnier. They only way you can really compare them is how the lip and landing are when they are set up. For a photo op though I definately think a jib on top of a bus woould look sicker depending on how far it is buried.

There is one right down 946 into Slatington but its more near Blue Mountain. Im pretty sure its a 100 set with like 15 kinks. Its minor though. Back lip slide. 450 on. Its a great rail to learn on. I remember my first hit with a rodeo 7 on and then I think I did a cork 9 out. It was sweet, great photo op.

A big problem for bear is that is does not have that much vert. If you ever take to notice, the top of Blue is about 5-7 degrees colder then the bottom. So if you are wondering why Blue can make it and Bear can't thats another big one. Its basically the upper half of the mountain that is open too and they can also blow at the top and push some down to cover low spots.

Everything keeps saying how Sidewinder is going to be a really great park and stuff so I am doubting a ride on.. It says on the website that the lower terrain park will have ride ons but thats it. Im sure if the bus is not a good hit they will move it out of the way or take it out all together. Just calm down wait and see. If they make a good 10+ gap like Toast said it will be a sweet feature. That will be sweet with a little light show in it like the box last year. Thats what I am guessing you mean by lights.

I think we should stop bickering about the stairs and see how they work. At least we will all stay in shape! lol Park will be sick. 2 weeks maybe? After Saturday temps are looking b-e-a-utiful. Lol last year I think they called the jumps "cheese wedge launches"

Ill give it to Bear last year on the jibs. Although some of them were sucky. They were not able to pull off the circus rail thing at all. Transitions sucked except on the inverse rainbow. As far as jumps go. Blue dominated. Bear was more or less the place to learn before you stepped up to Blue's huge ass booters. Blue had some nice jibs last year but the lips were not wide enough and they were like a foot away from the lip. This year though I think Blue is really gonna step it up and the only thing bear has going for it is the urban staircase and maybe that cliff but that looks pretty sketchy. We will see though but I think Bear is gonna be left behind in the park comparison. BB is definately gonna be sick this year and it will be one hell of a comp between the parks. I think one of the biggest issues that will determine is maintanance

check out the mountain cam. They blew snow on a couple more trails like terrain run and the valley school.

Riding up at Blue today. It almost seemed like they had better coverage then yesterday but towards mid day- night it started getting icy. The park is in horrible shape, mostly the landings. For the most part it was a good day. I was riding with like 20 people and with Steveo for a little bit and most of the day with Rob. It wasn't packed but there were definately a couple kids that didn't know that much and were smart enough to get in the way. So... Who will be there tomorrow. I sure will be.
-
Just go up and ride the six pack. Youll get an in person view of it.

Today was not bad around 3-5. I was riding with Stevo and shadows most of the time and rode with Grilledsteeze for a little. He's a little nut going insane on the butter box and some backside airs on Tuts lane. All in all it was a good day. I started getting beat up though towards the end and it felt really nice to take a warm shower. And now my girlfriend is sleeping over so I will see you all later :-) :-) :-)

I don't know guys these temps aren't looking to good. There are a couple border line temps at night but not until at least Saturday. and then we wont get any good nights until next week sometime. I say we should just pick PA up and carry it north a little bit.

Sweet deal, Ill be rippin.

k, cool. Is it a for sure thing though that they can open Friday? Cause like everything else says December 10th except when you call their toll free number it says the 8th. Its a toss up.
-
Yo, wouldn't Blue have put it on there website by now if they were going to open Friday. They have to put it on either today or tomorrow to let us know in advance. They haven't even updated the snowmaking progress or anything. I mean its obvious that they are blowing snow but they could at least tell us what trails and stuff.
-
They are blowing snow on most of the lower trails like homestretch, terrain run and valley school west. We will see though. I doubt a top to bottom first day but not too far after. Lazy mile and tuts lane need snow first before top to bottom can be opened.
-
Now thats what we all like to see! Now thats what we all like to see! Now thats what we all like to see!

Ok so yeah, thats pretty godly. Ok so yeah, thats pretty godly.

Starting Saturday night there will be good snow making temps for a couple of weeks at night and sometimes possibly in the day. So ladies and gentlemen, grab your skis and boards cause youll be rippin Blue in no time!
-
Paradise isnt very steep for a park which means you would need a lot of snow to make decent landings and with a park that long, it would take till like February to get enough snow for all the hits with this gay ass global warming weather shit we got going on.
-
What makes them a waste? They are a challenge for the people that can handle them. They are one more thing that the people that know what they are doing can have that the people that are not very talented wont go near. Hopefully they will not jump off the side of the lip of the rail like last year. Its a rail folks, not a jump. I just wish the (spors), stupid people on rental skis, could understand that.

Sweet deal, Ill prob give it a go.
