I will be there for the 10am meet time but I am almost certain at that time rocket, asp and marjies might still be rock solid. Either way, it will be a fun day everyone will just have to stay longer while things soften up Good reason to watch the competition to. If whoever has the radar gun is coming you should bust it out on marjies or rocket in the morning you might hit a new record

Just got back from a short session at the Camel. It felt like a warm December blue bird day at the mountain and the conditions somewhat reflected it. First impression when strapping in was the snow is super fast compared to yesterday it turned into sugar again instead of spring corn. Took a run down King Tut and it was nice sugary softness most of the way down with some frozen cord on the side. Headed over to Birches next and it was the same accept today the snow was not dirty and fast enough to easy skate across the flat. Next run was down Big Pocono which was solid cord at the top followed by Rocket which was scary rock solid boilerplate with very light cord tracks, def not ideal steep conditions without razor sharp edges. Everything was soft once off the steeper vertical, I spent the rest of my time lapping Tut and Birches. It's going to be the coldest it will be for the rest of the season tonight I believe so things are going to be ROCK solid tomorrow morning. It's been said already but if you plan to go to Camelback early tomorrow you better sharpen your edges. Fortunately the high for tomorrow is about 5 degrees warmer then today so hopefully around the afternoon the steeps will start to soften up.

Got my dates confused, I believe the rain will be over long before morning. As long as they're daily report says open around 7-8 when they put it up should be a safe bet.

Whhhhhaaaatttt......?? is an iphone without appz! At least get the skireport.com app so you can see where the powder fell today around the world You can also get the trail map app, it might come in handy Saturday in case you get lost in the vast terrain the Camel has to offer.

Stowe PASR trip April 9-11.

Where is that?

I know it's depressing but it's the inevitable, I'm just glad they're open so we can get more ride time in before having to seek whiter pastures up north. That's the spirit!!

Ill be there in the afternoon.

I arrived at Camelback around 1:30 there were barely any cars in the parking lot. I walked up to the base area and was shocked to see how much it had receded since the last time I was here Sunday. I was breaking in new boots today, totally forgot how much it sucked. After my first few runs my feet were in pain and I was feeling discourage. After some adjustments and tweaking my bindings things started getting comfortable again and I had a great afternoon at the Camel. Coverage is still good but definitely getting thin, some narrow spots in the run outs where the trails are melting away but I think it will hold up for a great weekend. A couple lifties said they think the Stevenson might run this weekend but I guess only time will tell. I took a spin down to the Glen lift parking area and there were about 20 cars of people in the park around 4:30. MAJOR PROPS to Camelback for staying open! The base area receded quite a bit since last Sunday!! Nice and quiet, no lift lines. Thin spots, groomers did a great job making things passable. Marijies and Rocket have plenty of snow still. Mad technical glade area skiers right of Marjies Tons of snow on the Asp Big brown spot on the Hump but all the lolipops were tossed aside and it was deemed open! Dirty dirty snow on the flat to get to Birches. Good place to take a stroll practice safety. East Side closed off. Possibly open this weekend? All in all JADIP!

I will tell ya when I get back, gonna take some pics of the coverage. I would say regardless they will be open this weekend because all the hype they're putting into the events. I'm def gonna just have my beer at the mountain and stick around and watch the park comp instead of Barely this year, they're always fun to watch. West side only + segregated park it seems. Better than nothing!
-
Looks like the East side may be closed anyway. I seen on the site some of it was listed as opened today but it appears that has changed. On my way up now I dunno where this Nick Malozi lot is but it's such a pain in the ass walking all the way down to the main lots for a beer or safety meeting then back up lol.

Yes it does, you drive up to the ticket window and put 4 way flashers on. Get ticket get back in car and drive straight left and right to Glenn/Stevenson parking
-
Sunday may be the last day not Saturday..... but maybe they might give us another weekend?! Looks like they are with the park.
-
lol this event should be quite a spectacle

+1 I'm sick of Robert's attitude towards people who don't agree with him or offer other suggestions. I find an instructor who finds PA black diamonds well beyond their ability level to be to creditable.
-
Hmmmm Hunter is a possibility depending on how much terrain the Camel has open for the weekend, never been there before. Less than 3 hours away.

DOH no riding until Thursday now! They postponed it a day I guess to have more time to push snow around. This is sad not being able to ride I almost was going to go to Elk today until I seen they only have a few trails open now after the rain. At least CB is still planning on opening for late week and weekend. That rain was BS imagine if all that precip was snow instead :*(
-
Indeed everyone should park at the Glenn lot.

Any Blue Crew skizers entering the bump comp Sunday?
-
I be der, this weekend was epic.

Ya supposed to rain Monday & Tuesday

I only visited Blue once this year on one of those few Pocono DEEP powder days and it was a great time. I even went and checked the quarter locker area and they looked crisp freshly painted and the open ones were all empty. When you go to a ski resort mid winter on a Friday night some icy conditions are to be expected it's foolish to expect otherwise unless its exceptionally warm or snowing. It's the busiest weekday and by night the trails get scraped and icy. The best place to ride weekday nights around here is Big Boulder since they don't open until the afternoon and groom during the day.
