  1. The whole mountain closed at 4:30 due to the rain. Better luck next time, hopfully you'll come on a day with better conditions than tonight would have been.
  2. Ride DH paired with Ride Beta bindings money! I havn't rode the Anthem or the Agent but I have an Artifact and enjoy it but its super soft and after 2 seasons of riding it the sidewall started to seperate but it still ride fine. I've heard nothing but good things about the Agent havn't heard much about the Anthem.
  3. Ummmmmmm.... no.
  4. I was there Sun, Mon, Tues & Today this week and the conditions have been GREAT! No ice nice carveable packed powder it feels like but not sure how the Pocono conditions are gonna fare these 40+ degree days. Go during the day not at night unless you want to risk possible freeze over conditions. I just checked accuweather, it's supposed to rain during the day Friday and the temp is going to drop at night but it should stay above freezing so it's a toss up for Friday night.
  5. CB is definately a more entertaining mountain than JFBB IMO but TT C6 is exactly right. The weekend/holiday crowds at CB ruin it for most people who only really make it out on weekends or holidays. If you have weekday mornings off all winter than I would much rather have empty high speed quads to jump on and lap a bigger mountain with more vert than a smaller mountain with slow lifts.
  6. Have a good time man you should have no problem finding the fresh, you going by yourself?
  7. This was my first time at both resorts. To my suprise Killington was not as crowded as Okemo was Sunday. We spent most of our day at Killington riding from peak to peak via the K1 Express gondola the conditions were decent sugar with some icy spots here and there all and all a good day. Pico ended up being quite the adventure the next day. We arrive at Pico at about 10 and it was pretty dead. We headed up the first quad and headed over to the summit quad and did a little trail riding we noticed the summit had gotten a couple inches of snow that night and the conditions were great. We deicided for the remainder of the day we'd play around in the Summit Glades in search of untracked pow. After a few runs getting a feel of where we can enter the woods and pop out on the lower trails we deicided to jump right into the woods from the top of the summit lift. We ended up following a line through the woods we noticed was marked by blue rectangles painted on the trees, it was all untracked. After awhile the blue makers led us out onto what looked like a freshly groomed trail completely untracked so we started riding down and quickly realized it looked like we were headed for Killington as we seen it getting closer and closer in the distance as we winded down this trail. We seen a few snowmobile tracks and thought maybe we were on a groomed snowmobile trail that lead from Killington to Pico. Halfway down the cord dissapeared and we found ourself in 6 inches of completely untracked powder until we seen a road approaching when we finally reached the bottom. At this pont I was wondering how the hell far off we were and how we were going to get back to Pico where we are parked. Turns out we were about a mile down the road from Killington and we found a shuttle service that woudl take us back to Pico and we just so happen to walk up just in time otherwise it would have been 2 hours for the next one. We told the shuttle bux driver of our adventures and he said we rode down the backside of Pico and knew exactly where we came out on the road, turns out it was a old loggingr road. Epic adventure it was, who would have figured we'd find untracked pow this week after barely any natural snowfall in over a week. Getting off the K1 Express at Killington. Killington Peak view. Killington Pico Summit Will sunk thigh deep Pico woods Me hiking back up to hit a nice open line Poooowwwww and the logging road in the clearing
  8. This is my first trip to Southern, VT since I was much younger. I spent a long weekend riding at Jay Peak and Stowe two season ago in March and it seems as if there is alot more to explore off trail in the North the forest is much more open. Okemos woods seemed very dense and I noticed alot of above ground snowmaking pipeline along the trails I suppose theres not to much off trail exploreing in the South? I rode Stratton 9 years ago and I remember the forest being similar.
  9. I got up at 3am picked up a friend in Marshalls Creek and left for Okemo at 4am. We made good time pulled into the Blue Lot at 8:30 booted up and jumped on the shuttle bus to the mountain. We finally got in line for the base area lift that take you up across the mountain so you can ride down to the lifts that service the face of the mountain at 9:30 after being held up at the ticket window by some complaining asshat. We went for the Northstar Express quad which had about a 5-10 min wait and headed to the top the conditions reminded me of the Poconos carveable hardpack with some soft stuff on the sides. We took Upper Mountain Road since it was the only green we seen for a nice warmup run down to Limelight and ended up on the Gore side of the mountain. We spent the rest of the day avoiding the High Speeds and riding the Sachem Quad than hopping on the Glade Peak quad to the top since there were barely a line for both these lifts. We rode Mountain Road and cut down almost all of the trails that it intersects with a few times than went looking for a glade. It seemed like most of the easier glades were closed but we found a double black glade "Double Diamond" origional name and unfortunately found no soft snow it was bumped up and icy. We hit about every blue square we found from the Glade Peak quad for the rest of the day, most of the blacks were bumped or icy. The Zone park was closed all morning for a ski slopestyle but we got to check it out for the last run of the day was having a great run until slipped out on the last jump and wacked the back of my head. All in all a great day even though the conditions werent so great they were better than I expected having last week been so warm. To Killington we go tomarrow morning. I checked the weather and see they're supposed to get 15.4 inches Wed night in Killington but we have to leave Tuesday what crap luck
  10. Wow thats a pretty killer deal, it's gonna cost me a little under that for only 200 people one night and 2 day lift tickets. How many nights are you staying?
  11. Nice I sha'll see him competeing than hopfully I plan to stop by and take a peak at the comp Sunday.
  12. They are, I heard its been icy up there though tomarrow it goes below freezing and is going to stay below freezing so I hope its not so bad come sunday monday.
  13. Found a place on Expedia in Rutland for $67 a night 20 min drive from Killy. I'll be headed up real early Sunday morning to ride Sunday crash that night ride Monday and head back to the Poconos. I'll post my TR when I get back
  14. Anyone know of a good cheap place to stay near Killington or Mt Snow this weekend?
  15. Blue Mountain is teh GHETTO!
  16. It's because the ruts in the road and I heard a few vehicles driving down it actually snapped an axel as well as other serious damage so they closed it for now. It really pisses me off to though, I love parking down by the stevenson and being able to very easily access my truck whenever I want.
  17. Whats wrong with Floyd? I remember it being a pretty fun trail to jump into last year if its the one I remember. Just a steep drop thats at an angle facing a river?
  18. This weather is evil though I havn't been to frost, I was at Camelback and it's been beautiful as you described until about 4:45-5:30 comes around and the sun is no more and the temp drops slightly more. The surface turns to what seems like someone dumping massive amounts of granulated sugar over rough crunchy ice unfortunately. Damn this weather I'm not ready for spring conditions yet! How has boulder been at night since they don't open until 3?
  19. Very nice little edit I like it. Bear Creek looks pretty nice this year, I've never been there.
  20. Hell of a sweet bonk
  21. didn't mean to repost. please delete
  22. P_Architect, good job on the progression park rebuild. The jibs are much better as they are now above the snow so new park riders can get the feel for board sliding instead of riding over a hidden box thats completely level with the snow. It's actually quite a fun little park if you happen to be comming down any trail that runs into meadows. Good job shrinking the jump in there so anyone hitting them with any kind of speed dosn't have to have that horrible flat landing there was before the rebuild. The Rhodo rebuild also looks real nice with the his/her lip options and a few jibs set up in there now but there is so much more room for jibs on skiers left side of the jumps, stick them double barrels back in there and that extra new 30' or 40' flat box I know you have hidden somewhere. Keep em off big piles like the flat down is on because it's just not neccessary as everyone complained about last years setup with the huge gaps and giant piles the jibs sat on although the flat down is set up very nice I'm definately not complaining. Good job Will, keep up the good work it's been a pleasure this season!
  23. I was there to and it wasn't to crowded but I didn't get there until 4pm. The conditions definately seems liked it was crazy crowded early in the day as most of the snow was scraped off to the sides that turned into pure sugar but it will still fun to ride.
  24. It's definately Blue your talking about I think. Every ski area has a lodge but if you mean like a place to stay over night at the mountain than it wasn't Blue. It was probably Bear Creek I think they have on site lodgeing. As far as your description of the bar though I'd say its blue. Blue's bar is up on the hill a bit and it is a short ways to ski down to what I think your refering to the "door" as the archway you walk through where they scan your tickets.
