I ride a Rome Artifact 150 w/ Rome 390's for when the snow is soft and I plan on riding park most of the day. Also use it for backyard jib sessions. This board can't hold an edge on ice at all after breaking it in, it has bronze edges which go dull rather quick and can't dig into the ice. I recently bought a Ride DH with Ride Beta bindings for when theres ice spots and what not for freeriding and park. Holds an edge real nice on the ice. I'm real picky I can feel every suddle difference in between board/binding setups so I'm not sure which one I'll favor I've only rode the DH twice so far. I love the Artifact for how easy it is to butter and flex the board and the DH has some crazy pop and responsiveness.

Jay Peak has better tree riding than Stowe imo. Check it out while your up there its not far from Stowe.

I recommend the Ride DH for all mountain and park, killer board I just got the 2006 model online for cheap and love it.

Snow still falling lightly in Stroudsburg I hear snowmobiles flyin around on the roads by my house. I'd say we got about 4-5".
-
It's been snowing in Stroudsburg since about 11am we have about 2" maybe a little more on the ground and still comming. It seems like the forecast was dummed down a bit this morning hopfully we still get nailed.

Today was real nice hardpack groomers

Indeed it's gonna be cold for a bit, I was talking to a snowmaking supervisor the other day and he said it looks like were gonna have a warm February this year which would suck. I never trust those long range forecasts but I hope every mountain starts making 100% for the duration of this cold comming in.

Looks like tomarrows gonna be an icy mess:( Possibly tons of sugar if the groomers rip it up nice?
-
Nothing but a little bit of sleet in Stroudsburg. Seems like we're gonna get mostly ice unfortunately:(

They took 80% of the features out last tuesday for snowmaking and should be rebuilding the big park before this weekend. Only one quad closed at noon the Sullivan because of a rollback issue and a replacement part that needed to be ordered so it couldn't reopen. They ran the baily to service the sullivan side of the mountain for the rest of the day. The Stevenson was open all day until closing and there were practicly no lines. And again anyone that expects anything other than ice when you had a near 40 degree beautiful day and than a below freezing evening needs to go back to school.
-
Conditions from first chair until about 2pm were almost spring like not a bit of ice anywhere was beautiful. Than at about 3 4ish everything started hardening up and it got icy. You really can't expect anything else when its a nice mid to upper 30 degree day that drops below freezing in the late afternoon.

Season Passes FTW! But anyways, they replaced those tickets with other obtions such as dicount cards and what not which are very worth looking into if you ride a fair amount but not enough for a pass to be worth it.

I'll be there Monday. I've been avoiding the crowds this week but when I was up tuesday morning they had just stripped Rhodo the main park and were making snow on it for a rebuild. Not sure what they changed around or if the rebuild is done yet.
-
You can't judge any mountain for its crowds/conditions on Christmas/New Years week lol. If you do than your just another one of them gapers that were out there. CB is definately trying to nickle and dime the NY, NJ people without a doubt. Anyone that holds a season pass at CB dosnt park in the main lots anyways, why would you? Pass holders park by the glenn or stevenson and take a 10-20 yard walk directly to a lift. I also bet Camelbacks park pass lift line was the shortest lift line in PA this entire holiday season

That makes sense, I have my straps set almost as tight as they can go while still being centered over the boot and they hold fine. It just took awhile to adjust everything right for these boots but I love them, they are so comfortable. The DH and Betas will be arriving on the 7th can't wait!
-
What about Alpine Mountain? No one talks about them on here, I've never rode there though only drove by it.
-
If you havnt gone yet this season than that explains it but go early in the day and its beautiful. I was there today and al the rails accept one were taken out of Rhodo and the fan guns were going so expect a rebuild in Rhodo really soon. The smaller park next to it is lacking features but they're all setup great and are still tons of fun. The table top on upper moores couldnt be more perfect of a practice jump.

I went with the 06 because it was a killer deal I think, I got it for $180 barely used 155. I have the 390s on my Artifact I like them alot but they're a bit funny with my new boots DC Parks they don't fit as nicely as my old burton boots did in them.

Tsk tsk that is bad, just smoke trees.

Just ordered a 2006 Ride DH, the year before they added the slimewalls. I currently ride a Rome Artifact and I love it but it aint the best board for cruisin normal trails or any type of icey conditions at all. I was lookin for a board with a bit more pop little better on jumps and ability to freeride a bit smoother on than the artifact. I paired it with 09 Ride Beta bindings im a little hesitant about after reading some reviews. Can't wait until it comes in the mail so I can try it out. Anyone else ride the board/bindings setup? What do ya think?

I'd like to get blown tonight...

Indeed it is, it's also in many other common products.

Nice TR. CB has been insanely busy this week but the park has been beautiful, I just wish they would put up a few more mellow flat boxes or rails on turkey trot, so much trail but not so many features. If they got rid of that roller after the mailbox bonk and the jump after it and put in a few jibs would be nice. That last jump is alright but it's dangerous theres no real way of telling if the person in front of you landed ok since you have to turn left into the jump. Theres also so much space after the flat down butter box and the two hip jumps where some mellow jibs can be placed. Forget riding CB this week if you want to get on a quad anytime past 10am but park passes have been working great and you can lap it rather quickly even though its so crowded.
