  1. Is it my viewer or their website? The pictures don't update until you click on them... Fuggin Camelcrap If it's cold enough to be snowing, it must be cold enough to make snow... tight fisted bar-stewards
  2. Weather.com predicting 2-4 inches tonight for Mount Pocono.....
  3. Just like to add my agreement with a few opinions above, without any first hand experience of the admin (other than having to stump up a fortune for a season pass). Camelback is pretty similar to Blue and Shawnee in terms of trail and snow quality (Blue may just shade the latter with better grooming) and is generally a nice place to ski/ride. For most of the time the lift queues are OK, and during the week, especially if it's cold or snowing it can be very quiet. Early sunday morning when the frostbite warnings are out is my favorite time. I've not tried Elk, but based on some of the views posted here I'll be giving it a try this year. I'll have to admit that I would have gone for a pass at Blue if I didn't live 5 minutes from CB, but once again convenience wins and I guess that's what you pay for. The busy weekends will just encourage me to travel further afield on those days, I'd like to try several of the VT resorts this year, not just Killy. Wherever you go, ride safe and have fun (or just have fun... )
  4. If any of you are going to go, it looks like you need to go early in the week rather than wait 'til the weekend. Weather.com showing temp's coming back up to high forties with rain for late in the week and into the weekend. You can hope that Killington know what they're doing and the the slope temps will be lower, but there may not be that much quality snow around for long. It seems like the entire country seems to be getting snow except us at the moment, even frickin Texas Still at least that explains the elections result: "it'll be a cold day in hell before that dumb-ass gets my vote....." Good luck to any of you that head up there, take some pictures for the site.
  5. Flew over the rockies this morning (monday), spending a couple of days in San Fransisco at the company's expense Lots of lovely snow capped peaks and thousands of acres of virgin snow, and not a road anywhere near it Tonite they are predicting 2 inches ofr rain in SF, and 2 feet of snow in the rockies
  6. Unless you're interested in your immune system, you may want to try this instead http://www.belleayre.com Looks good though...

    Best tune-up?

Yeah, I did the waxing last year (as it came looking decidely unwaxed from M3), and it's kind of wierd scraping it all back off again but the end result with the scrubbing pad was easy to acheive. The lack of extra wax on the base means that the scratches aren't likely to come out though and may need a little repair work, as CB's shop has been mentioned, I'll drop it in when I pick up my pass. I'd like the edges sharpened up anyway. Technines sound like a good option, I can get the toe cap/strap as well then... anyone tried that yet?

    Best tune-up?

Any opinions on the best place to have my board prep'd for the new season. It's gonna need some small(ish) scratches taken out of the base (ice / mud / rocks at Killington late in the season ), and the edges touched up . I'm local to camelback but don't mind travelling if it needed to make sure it's done well. Any suggestions? Also, for the boarders out there, what bindings do you use and how do you rate them? I currently have some low(ish) spec Sims (seditions) which are comfy (nice straps) but probably a bit flexible (being plastic). I'm thinking of trading up to Drakes or Technines, any other suggestions?
  9. CB's food is terrible (top and bottom) but sometimes you just gotta eat and they know it Blues food (from my three visits) was excellent fast food (if such a thing exists)
  10. Repeat after me: Camelback = profit, Camelback= profit, Camelback = profit... ad infinitum... same probably goes for Shawnee, but at least they are investing in a (hopefully) decent park.
