elk has a good 4 inches covering the mountain right now not including the bsae. in my opinion thats plenty to open, for at least nepa conditions. these people expect to get tons and tons of snow before next weekend (which is when they plan to open) like there in vermont. they should just open now. if anything the weather is about to get worse and with thanksgiving vacation on everybodies back this is the perfect weekend to open, but will they open?no, because the owner has continuosly made bad decision after the next for the past twenty years. someone mentioned something about no ski patrol. this place is more strict and has more ski patrol than any other place i have ever been to. you accidently run into a skier and they will rip your season pass right off your hand before you can apologize. now there new bs rules are no backpacks on the lift and you have to have your pass on your forearm. soon we're going to have to give our first born in order to get a lift ticket.

i went to blue last weekend for the first time ever. the chairlifts are fast as hell compared to elk and montage but on the one chair lift i saw a pa skiandride sticker on the bar so i thought that was cool. so who stuck it there?

everything kinda got pushed forward this year though so the crowds might be its typical long lines but i'll sure let you know tomorrow

word is the're trying to get like 7 trails open for this weekend including tunkanock-both hiawatha maybe delaware for next week, east, and and maybe a night trail.

well i would say i have enough water comming out of the top two nozzles to my knowledge. note: this thing has only worked once and the water was the same pressure so it seems right. the air pressure is only air untill i turn this nob then it turns to a white strong mist. this when it actually looks like its making snow but its not. i'll respond with more info later.

why dont i just take the compressor out and make my own gun eh?

from what it looks like the two on top is just for water and the bottom is the air nozzle. btw this is the sport version. anyway's i tried lowering the water that didn't work i check out the nozzles and they are clean it is now 2 degrees out and i have it running in the past 30 minutes all i've made is a thin coat of just ice pellets that have frozen to the surface kinda like when you stick your tongue to a pole. i called the company and they jsut told me to go on the site and order parts (recording) i called fred's freeride in vermont where i got the thing and that number doesn't exist any more so im basically stranded here with you guys as my last resort. also i dont know if you would no this but there seems to be an exesive amount of water leaking from the bottom of the tank out of this little nozzle due to pressure maybe? should this be happening?

two days in a row in my backyard it was 19-22 degrees out but my snow maker wasnt ready yet so i wipped out the old backyard blizzard. well i tried at least three times twic during the day and once at night and still nothing i tried everything elevating it higher lower water pressure etc. but this damn machine wont make snow just ice two inches of thick ice. anybody wanna take a wake at this one? i only have two theories 1: i need to rse the elevating like twice as high which doesnt seem possible unless i make a raised platform and 2 the water in my hose goes through several filters and its too clean for the water to nucleize around anything in wich i would have to resolve to problem 1

i talked to the owners son today. elk is gonna be open tomorrow with 4 trails. susquehana tioga bunny slope and either east or west can't remember which he said. too bad i can't show up for tomorrow but i'll be sure to go on tuesday or monday.

if you live in scranton or clarks summit you are currently experiencing the first decent snowfall of the season it started tonight around 6 o clock and now it is begining to stick we curretnyl have 1 inch. to cut it all short its snowing like a mofo man!!

elk, but i'll be visiting blue this year because a new friend of mine tells me that he has a cabin on the mountain that we can use when ever we want. three words! SEE YOU THERE!! .... punk

that was definetly not cool, without even reading this i told my friend we were going up in two weeks. you're on my list of boarders who should be knocked over.

no what i ment was all mountain resorts are supposed to face north, montage how ever does not. it faces west which causes the snow melt rapidly at night and freeze in the morning instead of melting slowly throughout the day and freezing at night.

this fall festival is only three days away i can't wait. im sure you've checked out the site for the info so im not gonna bother typing it here. just so you guys know they'll be opening the chairlifts for cenic lookers. you know what that means? mountainboarding!! at least i know i'll be. if anybody wants to join let me know and i'll wait at the charilift.

i wish they would change the mountain. its on the wrong side for god sake. grrrr!!! oh parks gonna be sick. lol

yea those are the things! those things are awsome!! i want to make a bobble head of those things. sweet

aside from having not alot of money, is the dangers high in making one? i heard you could blow up you face if the pressure goes into the hose or something like that. i plan on making one for my senior project so i dont have alot of time. im also a part of that site but i don't post. this things so cool im posting it everytime >

yea dude i heard about that sucks i allready have important plans this weekend. im gonna send a guy down there and take some video shots for me.

where do you guys think they'll put the terrain park this year? it'de be awsome if they put it on west like a couple years ago. ps. dude this thing is so creepy >> it reminds me of the tree things from the movie princess mononoke

i got a backyard blizzard last year and was going to make another snow gun but didn't get around to it. anyway, has anyone ever used the blizzard before and how well does it work i only got to use it once for an hour because it was end of the season.
