  1. Pics bring back some good memories. Had a few beers in that spot myself and chair 10 has alot of fun terrain. Sucks about them being closed. They seem to have more then their fair share of power issues.
  2. Looks like a great day.
  3. PNW is the hot spot right now. A big storm last week and another one coming.
  4. yup
  5. Heavenly and they have pretty frequent shuttle buses from Reno airport down to South Lake. I don't think it would be worth the trip early season though. Snow and weather too unpredictable.
  6. Not worried about that but curious to see the effects of the "other" industry moving into town.
  7. very nice
  8. I was there about a month ago and there was alot of snow up in the glaciers. I guess the conditions can be pretty variable day in day out this time of year so I would say stay above treeline and hit the Glacier chair, the 2 T-Bars and then 7th Heaven. Sea To Sky Highway is pretty scenic and worth a few pictures. Congrats and enjoy
  9. good stuff
  10. Yeah I think we got really lucky with the late season storms. The day I left the high temp was supposed to be like 60 down at the village so the pattern changed. I would love to take a day next trip (oh there will be another trip some day) to do some snowcat access terrain. Maybe even a heli. The others peaks in the area looked amazing. Just a few more terrain pictures. Snowpack down at Village level A few pictures down Whistler Bowl, into Doom and Gloom, and then Frog Hollow which comes out at a cat track and takes you to Big Red lift. Nice sustained pitch the whole way down that area (and super conditions) I wasnt much for getting air this trip. So no pictures in that regards, sorry. PASR Barb was witness to me taking a pretty hard crash (and stupid crash, should not have happened) at the bottom of JF near the East Mtn. lift about a month ago and it was still sore on the trip.
  11. Looks great. trees are tight. Good too see late season freshies.
  12. I was curious of this also but this past winter maybe tough to compare to previous winters with the economy down the tubes.
  13. I would rather do the snowcat/heli ski/ride tour anyways. Fresh tracks I really dont care what Alta, DV, and MRG do. Its their choice. Their are many other great resorts to visit out there. The one thing that I don't like is sometimes riding lifts and say if I was skiing that day and another skier was talking crap on snowboarding or vice versa I was snowboarding and another rider was talking shit on skiing, that stuff is just soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo old news. I usually ask them if they tried other equipment, if not why, then lay into them that I do this and that and enjoy both very much.
  14. Before and after the games I think I would be ok with. Whistler is a good 2 hour drive from Vancouver where all the non-alpine events will be held. The jist I got from some locals is that yeah they expect the village area to be jammed packed those 2 weeks, but that not all of those folks are going to be in liftlines. The trailmap I had WB made a good effort to point out that only a small fraction of terrain would be affected by events.
  15. battery recharged. A few from Nintendo. As I recall there were a few rails up top followed by a 5 booter jump line to skier's right of the lift and then 3 (maybe 4) bigger booters to skier's left of the lift. From top to bottom ... Here is Beth saying hi to everyone and showing how deep the snowpack is at the top of the Glacier quad.
  16. Well first there were these Aussie chicks at the GLC and the week went into the gutter real quick. Anyways, I made my first trip to Whistler last week and the condtions were perfect. Fortunate to be there with some folks who knew their way around. Seemed like it was more mid winter rather then early April. It was a really fun week on and off slopes. Definitely will be back again. Enough talk, here are a few photos ..... Fraggle Rock Trees trying to save a landing from a little jump (fail). Top of Horstam Glacier. When we saw it that pitch needed more tracks on it so we took a little hike to go get the goods. Ah Wednesday saw snow all throughout the day. These pictures I believe are on the way down Bagel Bowl on Whistler Mountain Dropping Whistler Bowl Scoping a line ..... we chose Gloom and Doom Friday TGIF perfect bluebird day. Decent snowfall overnight and it cleared out nicely for the morning. These are on Blackcomb. The upper lifts were on hold for avy control and we headed out first thing and got in line early for Seventh Heaven. Once we got up top we took a hike to go get some freshies. A little out of bounds here as I recall but definitely the highlight of the trip. Soon to be new avatar picture. 1/2 way down, double thumbs up for sure. Stopped because I had to take the camera and do some photos of the others. After that we made our way to Blackcomb Glacier hiked up for some tracked out turns but still excellent none the less Gaper photo from the highest part of Peak 2 Peak gondola. I took a few from Nintendo for those who want to see the jump lines. I will try and get those up later.
  17. Its on their website closing 3/22.
  18. encore encore
  19. veni vidi vici You will always wonder if you dont. I did a quick search on flights that week you can definitely get it under 500. Keep well hydrated the week before and while you are out there. Start on the easiest trails and work your way up. Have fun
  20. They can ride the tram up and down.
  21. I google'd the first sentence and it comes from NWS Burlington VT
  22. 12z GFS just made it a good snow for me here on the beach. Hopefully that is a good sign ............ these models so far this winter have tended to correct to the west 48 hours out.
  23. Hey R2 (Seriously) If you like going fast go to the PASR day at Blue. ThinkSnow has a radar gun he will probably bring along.
  24. Thank you professor Uhmm ..........
  25. First off thanks to Greg for the time and effort. Certainly a real plus to having a community website like this. Nice to meet all who showed. It was a fun day. First time I was at Frost in ages and the snow was in really good shape.
