  1. This I realize, but at this point Bear needs to make a decision. Try and make the snow and open within the week, or hold off opening for another few weeks much to the disappointment of not a few season pass holders. Myself included. The choice is entirely up to you guys. I just assumed you had something to do with them there sorry if I'm mistaken
  2. patience is not one of my virtues pessimism is, if you can call it a virtue in "this weather" do you mean 40s day and 20s night? if thats not favourable then we aint gonna be riding at Bear till January sorry if I seem mad I am but dont take it personally
  3. Theres one across a jeep trail in the woods near my house. Theres also a bunch of old strip mines that provide manmade cornices, cliff drops, and a gap over a 40ft pit, but its all sketchy as hell what with trees and other debris. Its also way out in the woods, and hiking throught the woods in all your snowboard gear in 2ft of snow sucks.
  4. 30 degrees tomorrow night = not cold enough to make snow If they start Monday it'll give them 5 nights to get the mountain open. Thats only the night too, they cant blow during the day. Alot of references to them being able to open in 3 or 4 days means just that. They need to blow continuosly to get the mountain open and they're not going to have that. The week after this is going to get warm again. Its now or never.
  5. The lights arent on at Bear now. Does that mean they're not making any snow?
  6. Im hungry for a stairset sandwich
  7. Its like the weather got confused what season we were in.

    Elks new stuff?

Is it still that little run on the side of the other little run? Its like BCs mini park in size and I was there in January and it still wasnt open.
  9. If we ever get the cold weather needed to ride it that is.
  10. I see everyone I snowboard with planning a trip to Killington. Perhaps thats what I shall do. *shakes head in disappointment*
  11. The week after next I see a warming trend... say 50s and rain. If they dont open by the 10th then they're not opening for a long time.
  12. what we need.... is a substitute for snow that wont melt
  13. dudeman shouldnt this go into the Roundtop forum? but if you can give me a ride I'll def go unless I find another way to get there
  14. how do they figure the almanac out anyway?? I always thought they had a dartboard with different types of weather on it for different seasons. Then they'd throw a dart for every amount of time and go from there. Hell, if I did that I'd might even get more accurate answers! and the week after this friday is looking mighty fine for snowmaking folks keep your fingers crossed or pray to Allah whatever floats your boat
  15. did you not hear the sarcasm??
  16. LIAR the government controls it all!
  17. yea it makes me all emo when mountains close like that or dont open until christmas...
  18. Yeah but its 8 days away for BC to start making snow so it can definitely still change.
  19. global warming kicks that in the balls though...
  20. Thats what they say on accuweather for projected openings. They're actual website says nothing beyond "we're waiting for cold temps"

    Elks new stuff?

That place made me sad. Its SO WINDY UP THERE!!
  22. Killington opened end of October last year. I remember because I marked it in my agenda book for school. Seven Springs was open end of November, and everyone else was open the weekend of the 9th 10th. Weather sucks, something tells me we're gonna get cheated out of a good month of riding. BC's projected opening/closing 12/10 - 4/16 my projected opening/closing 12/16 - 3/25
  23. bellayre isnt exactly local for me though
  24. Not gonna happen. Four days of snowmaking weather after Thanksgiving, if they pushed for it they could open on the 3rd but then they'd have to endure another week of warm weather. Something tells me nobodys going to open until the 15th or so.
