  1. i figured it was, still dont know who it is though
  2. come on, who is it? someone in JFBB management?
  3. yeah, i know elevator has been a trail for a while, maybe even before i started skiing there ~1991ish, however, i have heard the story of elevator of people who have been there forever, that told me that it never used to be a trail, just something that people skied so much that they eventually put up the sign.. my bad on the wench cat though, i could have sworn i heard that someone wenched a cat to a tree on the top... oh, and no way elevator is 45 degrees, its steep, but not that steep... although some of the piles to the skiers right of the chute the year they groomed it out may have pushed 45. skiing those piles was the only good thing about elevator that year... 4. its the one you saw, slightly off to the right of the final rivershot headwall. no trees seperate elevator and rivershot. A long time ago, elevator was not a trail either, but people skied it when there was enough snow. Finally someone decided to put up a sign probably 10-15 years ago. A couple years back, some idiot decided to blow snow on it and wench an groomer up. My guess is that the trail is ~ 35 degrees (far too steep of a run to try and maintain by grooming.) They managed to get the groomer up a total of one time that season and it quickly turned into a sheet of ice. that season, they had it marked really well so that the average person knew about it, thus it became a clusterfuck, kinda like the first headwall of janes lane, mid-day, on a weekend multiplied by 1000 or so . Before then, it was just something to the side of rivershot, that very few people even knew existed. (most people assumed the last headwall in rivershot was elevator because the sign was ambiguously placed) Anyway, my point is, I think it was a good move to take the trail off the map, because it keeps people who shouldnt be on it, off of it.. it obviously doesent work to try and blow snow on it and groom it out, so its better to leave it natural, and its still there as a gem for the people who know what they are doing, when it snows... jordan
  5. it never needed to be open to ski it. Sure, ski patrol rarely opened it, but it was skiable a lot of the time.
  6. heh, what JF really needs to do is thin out some of the brush and rocks about 1/4 mile to the skiers right floyds folly. I remember ripping that up during the big winter of 2002 (when we got the christmas and prez day storms) there are some amazing glades back there, but there are too many rocks and low laying brush to be able to ski it on anything less than 3 feet or so of natural snow... 7. Just a little something i noticed BB removed "cross mountain" from the trail list, and JF removed risk it and mad tree glade just so they can claim to be 100% open when JF gets the rest of east mountain open this weekend if this isnt shady, i dont know what the hell is.. Just my $.02 Jordan
  8. CB rangers=main reason why I hate CB
  9. i HATE that triple, like 99% of the chairs have pieces replaced with wood of the incorrect width so one piece of wood is always digging into your butt.. Jordan
  10. if my memory serves me correctly, that happened on the black forest lift at BB a few years back
  11. bottom line, THERE IS VERY LITTLE DECENT TERRAIN IN PA. thats a fact. I am not nor was I ever a park rat, but the park rats in PA have a point. They are mostly skiers who have hit the ceiling in PA, they have mastered all the available terrain and want a challenge. Thats where parks come in. just my 2 cents
  12. of all the tings to complain about, this takes the cake. Ive got news for you... Your precious JFBB allows employees to park wherever they want as well. I know this because i have worked there for many years. Years ago (before my time) the entire shelf at JF (which is the closest parking) was RESERVED for employees. Its a common courtesy for a company to provide employees with a parking spot where they dont have to walk 20 miles to get to work. Everywhere I have ever worked has done this (either has allowed you to park anywhere or had a reserved staff lot up up front) Jordan
  13. well risk it and t bolt glade usually get plenty of blow over to make them skiable, but mad tree is another story.. they would have to put guns in the woods. Literally.. Jordan
  14. camelback is a great mountain. I have no problem with it. probably the biggest (acerage) in PA. I love the layout and the high speed lifts. I have, however had way too many run ins with assholes in yellow jackets who think they are hot shit. That is why I will probably never ski there again.
  15. bottom half of snowdrift just like it was last year?
  16. no way it would be enough for mad tree... they would have to physically put snow guns in the woods to cover that
  17. question... is JF actually blowing snow into the woods onto the glades? and on risk it? if so, thats weird that is all Jordan
  18. how can you possibly get down the first headwall with any kind of speed? Janes lane is a clusterfuck all the time... Jordan
  19. I love just cruising down midway. They better never touch that..
  20. "best" and "most popular" generally are not in sync with each other. Just look at modern music... Jordan
  21. agreed...this is getting ridiculous
  22. the correct answer is camelback, sorry
  23. I dont know what all this is about, but I love the Jubilee. Whenever I am in the poconos, i can almost always be found there every thursday night eating wings. I live like 2 minutes from it in lake naomi... Jordan
  24. i also dislike the new management. They are great at making snow and terrain parks, But I dont like the way that they treat employees who have been there a long time (not just me), and the way they treat their most loyal customers like criminals by making them validate their passes every time... Jordan
