Movie Premier-Still On @ Big Boulder
jordan replied to Heather-Big Boulder's topic in Jack Frost & Big Boulder
I think it is a mistake for them not to do a rail jam. They definately have more than enough snow to push into a pile and throw a rail or two in. Its cool that the premier is free now though... Jordan -
Official: No Skiing Thanksgiving Weekend
jordan replied to skiddp's topic in Jack Frost & Big Boulder
i was there today. they have enough snow to be able to push it in a big pile and throw a few rails in for friday if they really wanted to, but i guess its not gonna happen. They should have used more compressed air guns and less fan guns. the fan guns dont preform as well in higher temps.. In other news, it looks like CB has blown a LOT more snow than BB when i drove down route 80 today... Looks like one more good night of snow making and they can open up a trail or two, and not baby trails like BB was going to open. Jordan -
when will blue blow? it already does
-
when you are the only game in town, you can charge what you want. I really dont think they are gonna cut prices for opening day. the price does include the movie premier though
-
$32 youth or $40 adult (19+)
-
I only have one gripe with CB, but it generally keeps me from skiing there. It involves yellow jackets (no, not the bees) Jordan
-
whoops, sorry i meant to type that they have never been open at night till after christmas..... jordan

1. I will definately be at BB on friday if they open up to hang out at least. I doubt ill be skiing though. I have a couple pairs of my old skis here i could ski on, but my only pair of boots is in CO. If i can score a pair of boots somehow, ill ski. 2. BB has never been open in the past till after christmas. I dont know if PEAK plans on changing this, but that is how it always was in the past. 3. It would be suicided to post a BB opening day TR on TGR and you know it Jordan

i can vouch for the B2s... they are amazing skis
-
have you ever skied little boulder, tannenbaum, or edelweiss??? jordan
-
so you can ski little boulder tannenbaum and edelweiss?

How am I wrong? I said JFBB dont use molds because they are worried about hitting the dirt and ruining their equipment... That is absolutely 100% correct.. Jordan
-
maybe its the new Big Boulder in that aspect
-
JFBB havent used dirt in a very long time. Both Jack Frost and Big Boulder stopped using their molds years ago. (BB never really had one anyway) They also havent had a pipe in couple years, but the last one JF had went right down the center of tobyhanna (no mounds of dirt there) and BB's last pipe was in the spot where Jib Alley was last year, again, no mounds of dirt there. Jordan
-
then why did Jack Frost stop using their mold when they bought the pipe dragon? i was told that they didnt want to risk hitting the dirt and breaking the thing and Jack Frost had the mold, and groomed it with a recular snowcat far before they had a pipe dragon... Jordan
-
alpine save your money
-
im guessing if anything, they will open up tannenbaum with a couple jibs, and one lift. nothing more
-
JFBB cannot use molds because of the type of machinary they use . (the pipe dragon) they need a few weeks of really low temps to blow enough snow for a pipe
-
the GFS goes out to 16 days, but really any model predictions out more than 4 days or so generally don't verify for anything more than a very general pattern. Jordan
-
BB's pipe was made entirely of snow, as was JF's. The last couple seasons, by the time they had the temps to blow that kind of snow, the season was 3/4 of the way over... Jordan
-
will the old rails still be in use at all?
-
looks like the EC is getting SKROOD. Killington has surpassed its record for the longest off season ever...
-
colorado is really not worth flying to just yet. However, the mountains are supposed to get 10-20" of snow tonight, so there might be more terrain openings by tomorrow Jordan
