  1. It is a lot less eco friendly when I drive or fly places with more natural snow than when I ski more locally on man made stuff.
  2. Yeah, certainly it costs money to do. But if you aren't ready to commit the money, don't put it on your trail map "coming soon" It does not take more than one off season to do.
  3. Not much in PA. Whitetail added a short green trail called ledgewood. Blue has been the most active in PA in expanding terrain.
  4. At least this weather isn't melting any base
  5. Dreamcatcher. Actually a glade as well (even better). Also Gore added the Hudson trail and several glades. And Whiteface added Lookout Mountain So quite a bit has happened just north of the pokes. And Sugarloaf had a huge expansion of largely glades. Not that I have been there.
  6. Belleayre Windham Hunter added some glades
  7. I don't see why a new fairly short trail is a multi year project to complete. It's not like building condos or a water park. You chop down the trees, remove the stumps, and run hoses for snow guns. Heck they could just thin out the underbrush and make it a glade. It would be cheaper and make for greater variety.
  8. Shall we boycott the places that still run diesel lifts?
  9. The nice thing about hills with only 1000' vertical is turns are basically optional.
  10. Thanks. Good to see you too. After last winter, I will take any trail that is painted white by late December.
  11. I guess the upside of warmer winters is it will be more comfortable sleeping in your car before waking to ski slush and ice. (Oops I see that discussion was from 6 years ago)
  12. Hoping for a trip to CO in late Jan. Maybe Killington on Dec. Other than that mostly pokes and skills. Gonna have to find some new deals now that kids are too tall to ski free at Shawnee. Fortunately this happens just as they are eligible for 4th and 5th grade skipass in PA. Let it snow! Let it snow! Don't hold it back anymore.
  13. Any update on if this trail will be open this winter or what it will be called? Would make a nice Xmas present. Especially if they are open by then.
  14. There is no way you can legally go onto someone else's private property and cut their trees down without their permission. You can't even legally go on someone else's private property without their permission.
  15. Heading up tomorrow for 5 nights in a house in Lake Harmony. Anyone open for the season yet?
  16. Nice. Too bad it is timed for right when passes go up.
  17. Hope to do Hunter next weekend if they are still in play.
  18. Bummer. Not gonna bother with BB. If Hunter makes it to April 2 I may give that a go then.
  19. Yeah CB says Fri through Sun. I bet they bring the price down further for Friday.if they are doing midweek prices for Sat-Sun.
  20. Too old for the kids deal at CB. I do have a coupon for 2 kids skiing for 50% off price of full ticket with purchase of adult full price ticket. But that may not be the best deal if they discount rates. Also need to see what they have open. If it is only the Cliffhanger glacier they have been building I will skip as kids are still shying away from double black terrain, even PA double blacks.
  21. So I wonder what trails CB will have to offer us on Friday and if there will be some kind of late skison discount. Hoping to bring my girls there for the first time.
  22. Plus the slide gave the added thrills of wondering if you were going to fly off and die or, if you were to fly off and not die, how your winnings would compare to the super power ball jackpot.
  23. Who cares why they are opening. If they pull it off they are awesome and I will ski you Friday. Their coverage looked way better from the highway yesterday than Blue's looks from the surface Friday.
  24. Camelback seems like a potential option next weekend. They say they plan to open Fri to Sun, and from the highway their trails almost all looked wide and fully covered at the end of the day today.
