Belleayre opening Saturday 11/22
Ski2Live Live2Ski replied to Ski2Live Live2Ski's topic in Other Mountains
Might consider Big Boulder one day with the canned food deal depending on what they have open. But I'm not a park guy. Doing something cheap for the first day out is appealing. -
WIndham says they are opening Friday the 21st and currently making snow on Upper & Lower Whistler, Warpath Chute, Wide Connection, Upper & Lower Wolverine, Warm Up, What’s Next, Lower Wall Street, Wooly Bear, and Whisper Run. Plattekill has a pretty lame snowmaking system and gives no indication they are opening soon

Belleayre opening Saturday 11/22
Ski2Live Live2Ski replied to Ski2Live Live2Ski's topic in Other Mountains
Belleayre is now saying they will have triple chair 7 open serving both upper and lower Onterora. That's 800 feet of vertical with at least half of it double black terrain. Can't beat it for $25 before Thanksgiving. Lift line could get worse then Hunter as it is not highspeed, but I expect a lot of folks will get off at the midstation leaving at least the good stuff not too crowded. -
got some more details but lets move this discussion over to the topi I created for it
-
They say triple chair 7 open for expert and intermediate terrain. No specification of which trails yet.

Belleayre just announced they are opening this Sat with $25 tix available online in advance. Expect I will go there rather than Hunter, though I'll wait to see what terrain each of Belleayre, Hunter and Big Boulder have to offer for this weekend. May even get out to two places this weekend, who knows?
-
Looking at pix on their site it seems pretty certain Belt Parkway will be open. BUT Belleayre just announced opening this weekend with $25 tix if you buy online in advance. Expect I will go there to avoid the crowds.

That blue run feeding straight into a black (21 to 1) broke the collarbone of a newbie buddy on that 88 trip

I don't want to work I just want to carve razor's edge all day -
Might check out Alpine with my kids this year as it is part of the Pocono Ski and Ride card I got. Was there once in 88. Anything change since then?

Free pass to Whaleback in NH

Pass taken (I also posted on AlpineZone) -
Of course they have separate snow making systems. They are at least 10 miles apart.
-
Sure looks like they are making snow on a pretty wide swath of the mountain from their webcams
-
Got a free pass good any one day to Whaleback in NH thrown in with my Mountain Sports Club membership. No way I'm going to use it, so if you would, send me your info and I will mail it to you. What goes around comes around, after all.

Just so long as they have the North Face open it will remain worth the trip

Care to give any hints where the stashes are? -
Thanks for the 411. Gore seems to be the closest place other than Hunter that will be open before Black Friday What's WROD? And why do you feel that way? Never been up there that early myself. Is it due to crowds? I'm actually most likely to go up Monday the 24th when crowds would be smaller and prices lower (particularyl as I grabbed a Big Lift card which gives deep discounts on weekdays).
-
Hope it's still in the cards with rain scheduled for today. Hoping to head up there this weekend if conditions seem to warrant it. Anyone else can't wait for PA to open and thinking of doing the extra drive? Anyone know what terrain Hunter tends to open with?
-
Any tips on finding the route or you really need a guide?
-
Sure, I was just posting the offer I was aware of, which is through Princeton. Anyone aware of another offer, please share if so inclined.

Plenty of groomed stuff at magic
-
As a good % of my ski time is now with a pair of 7 year olds I could see that. So far I have not taken them anywhere that it was either needed or offered (Spring, Shawnee and Big Boulder so far).

A comprehensive list of all the dates on which I have paid for parking at a ski area: For the awesome glades?

I know they have a close in lot only for Subarus
