  1. Born in PA and skied Little Gap before a bunch of you were born (1981) TopLot4Ever
  2. I snoozed & losed
  3. Awesome Blue could become a cool place to ski if the trend away from crowded weekends continues. $800 passes could help.
  4. Don't see a RTop forum, looked like the 2/18 discussion. Were lines nonexistent all day at Blue too?
  5. Real nice at Roundtop today too. No lines and wall to wall coverage on the 80% of the Mt they have open. Nicer than Shawnee was yesterday though that wasn't bad.
  6. Gonna apply our 25% off a 3rd Indy Day to the weekday rates at Shawnee early afternoon today - after the rain and before the freeze up and weekend crowds come.
  7. That means they doubled their price over 5 years since I bought mine there for $399 (along with 2x6th grade passes for $99/each so they are asking 25% more for 1 pass than I paid for 3). Also more than either an Epic Local or Ikon Base went for last year. Maybe they throw in Camelback too (including parking) at that price.
  8. Nah - that's powder day talk.
  9. Possibility of a nice window Fri afternoon with some soft snow after the rain stops and before the freeze over. Could be the best conditions of the weekend as well as fairly empty. It'll be a bit like threading a needle to hit it - hope to be at either Roundtop, JFrost or Shawnee in that window - monitoring where it is most likely to get its fullest expression.
  10. Oops - looking at forecast I was thinking Friday PM could maybe be nice, rain-free and pre-freeze - but checked for tix and this Friday afternoon is not considered off peak. Will ski elsewhere if we ski.
  11. Tried 6 and 8 and learned my lesson Best Western right off Interstate gets my vote for a place near Stowe. Nice breakfast there too.
  12. Hampton Inn is my go to chain. Nice beds and breakfast buffet, always clean. Often choose them over cheaper options. Especially with two kids a good breakfast is worth it. Holiday Inn Express has also impressed with their breakfast buffet. Some places are just crap with prepackaged muffins and/or cold cereal.
  13. Is the short lift up from JGore much faster than those up from Clocktower. Can't say I ever paid attention to duration. Either way it is a pain to have to take a short lift to access the main lift.
  14. Adding both Cbk and Blue to Ikon is my real hope, as they are all affilated with KSL / Alterra
  15. If a joint Blue /Camel one becomes an option I will see if they want to consider that, but on the whole they seem to prefer variety. Still would be nice to take them back for a day if Friday is clear
  16. Just got the email - available any weekday and any weekend/holiday eve. Nice deal. If forecast turns out to be wrong for Friday and it is not raining a good chunk of the day, I may take my girls there for the first time in a while with this deal.
  17. Nothing planned yet but I hope to go some time after March 10. Til then I am too busy due to playing guitar in a HS production of Grease (rehearsals are why I can't ski Monday and what I did yesterday afternoon).
  18. Bummed about the forecast. Seems everywhere in NE gets major rain and thaw on Friday then a deep freeze overnight to ice everything up formthe Pres Wknd hordes. Will likely sit Sat out and hope they can groom it into something worth skiing by Sun as I have commitments for Mon. Bummer for a weekend I had hoped to ski Fri Sat and Sun. This may well be the year I ski the least number of days in quite a while, though at least I have already matched the 16 I hit in 2015/16. My lowest total since then was the 25 I skied in 2018/19 when we had the Blue passes. I expect I will need a positive change to current weather trends or a couple western trips to top that this year. No chance of getting near the 41 I skied in 20/21.
  19. Nice enjoyed it yestersay
  20. Girls 1st trip down White Lighning today. No falls. Good time to give it a try when snow softened up this afternoon and it had been recently groomed. Tells me they can now ski anything in PA when conditions are decent.
  21. Not sure what all this discussion of being an expert skier is doing in a PA skiing (& riding) forum. OK there are seriously steep (albeit short) headwalls on WhiteLightning, GunBarrel and (reportedly, I havent skied these) WildCat and Extrovert.
  22. Montage also has lots of blue runs open, but I find their black ones more exciting. Unlike Blue, Montage has all their black runs open
  23. I am thinking Montage Sat - got all the blacks and double blacks open and never much of a line - use our 2nd IndyPass day there
