I’m happy that we get paid and the audience doesn’t have to pay. If you would be happy paying something to atttnd you could slide me a buddy pass -

Streaming on Spotify would be awesome and appreciated if folks would like the track, stream it, add it to playlists and follow The Beagles with Joy -
I’d say the advantages Cat has over Blue are singnificantly more glades and steeper double blacks. The lifts are less good. A bit far for what it is though as you can get to the Catskills as easily from here and I like places there better.
-
Yeah have avoided Wildcat which Vail is clearly not putting resources into - will only get there if nature takes care of them by Presidents’ Day. But have had no complaints about my days at Stowe Okemo Snow Hunter Frost and Roundtop. Back to Okemo and Snow this coming weekend. Epic Pass continues to be the best thing that has happened to my family’s ski experiences. Taking kids to Vail in April.
-
None of that changed from last year when there were much bigger lines. Ikon adding Blue and Camelback on time for this years pass purchases did change. They have essentially everything but Floyd’s open and added 3 new lifts last year. Not high speed, but you almost never see high speed lifts at places with 525’ vertical. Slow lifts with next to no lines will always beat long lines for faster lifts.
-
Wondering it the much smaller lift lines at Frost this skison compared to recent years are connected to Camelback and Blue joining Ikon in time for Alterra to lure NEPA skiers away from their annual Epic pass purchases. Camelback is overcrowded by all accounts this year as Frosts closest Ikon competitor. You all would know better than I if Blue crowds have increased
-
Whitetail is pretty nice - been there 4x. Modern facilities and terrain is segregated by level of difficulty, with less crowds in expert area But it does get crowded on prime weekends and holidays Nice place to go for warmer weather turns when it is frigid elsewhere but southern exposure slope does not make for a long season

Since you ask it is gonna be Roundtop for me on Sunday - also 100% open including the elusive “steepest in PA” headwall of Upper Gunbarrel Did my Blue - probably for the year - on a crowd free weekday with a $40 ticket -
By the time I got there at 1230 the fog had lifted and the snow was soft with the exception of Modway was a bit crunchy. Beautiful afternoon of Spring skiing without goggles or turtle fur.
-
Gonna ski Blue this afternoon for my day 6 - using the $35 deal they are offering to folks with season passes to other mountains. Already hit Frost, Roundtop and Hunter in past 9 days so will be nice to ski somewhere I haven’t been recently. May be my first time since they got rid of the Main Street chairs - which were the only game in town when I started at LG. Next stop after this will be Stowe next Mon-Wed

One worked at Sesame Place as a photographer

I see GSS hates it as much when I discuss Blue conditions on this page as he does when I discuss anything else here. Roundtop was a real good time yesterday.
-
Thanks so basically * Paradise * Lazy/Falls * Vista/Burma * Vista/Chute or Midway/Main Could be worth buying a midweek ticket to ski that a little closer than any of the Epic options on a day when my time is limited. Better than anything else available closer than Catskills on a day when lines will not be a factor
-
Not seeing a trail report there currently. May just be the site is hard to navigate or may be because they are closed today, but figured folks here would at least know what was open when they were last open
-
Should be soft for sure. Think they have enough base to withstand rain overnight and what should I expect to be open trail wise?
-
Hmm on reading reports from yesterday Blue may not be best plan for tomorrow
-
Thinking of heading to Blue on Tues. Any idea what is likely to be open?
-
Real nice time yesterday on the two open runs from 12 to 4. Minuteman got a bit skied off on the headway but there was nice snow on skiers right, which is also where the softest snow was on the bumped up Upper Lafayette. This is better terrain than what they have open so far at JF.

Enjoyed Roundtop yesterday. Speaking of Buddy Passes, I am Thinking of hitting Blue tomorrow.
