Tips for skiing Breck? Will likely be there one of more days Sat-Mon.
-
Flying Philly to DIA tomorrow eve, redeye back Mon night. Staying in Silverthorne and will ski some combo of Breck, Keystone, Vail, Beaver Any idea where conditions are best at present?
-
Did book CO trip - plan to hit Keystone & Breck for 3 days April 9, 10, 11 Hunter tomorrow is questionable as they seem to be down to 3 runs off top now, and it will be frozen solid till 11 or so. Will make the call when I wake and see report as no rush to get there early. Still hope for Snow/Okemo Mon & Tues Shame Blue couldn't at least pull off an April Fools fake re-opening announcement

Once made it to the Edgewater Inn in Seattle but did not catch a mudshark

Not over til it's over. Glad to have my Joy back after a little rough patch

Ski2Live considering Sat Hunter, Mon Snow, Tue Okemo Also considering CO 4/9-12
-
If they offered $399 for me and $99 for each daughter like they did when I got our passes I would seriously consider getting it in addition to our Indy passes.
-
Cause I concluded after having a Blue pass the winter of 2018-19 that I would rather ski anywhere but Blue (except Mountain Creek) on weekends from mid December through late February
-
With the lines some weekend days one might be able to make it a profitable venture even with lifts running. Even someone with a pass might take a $5 ride over an hour wait
-
Yeah - shame they called it quits. Next weekend could've had better conditions than this one with some effort. With Blue's lay out someone could make a decent wage offering $5/person rides from lower lot to top lot. Not many other places that would be possible. Belleayre I guess but you could only access green trails that way.

Shawnee just announced today is their last day. Only Blue, Cbk, JFBB still holding out hope for this weekend in PA. -

Sure it was a very reasonable price for a lift ticket with no lines, nice weather, and better conditions that could be expected in light of recent PA weather. I'm sure it was cheaper for me than driving to Hunter to ski free and definitely much more satisfying than going back to JF without East Mt open. Glad I went. -

Looks like Blue and CBK both jumped the gun on closing today with no rain now forecast til evening. -

Yeah I can't see Challenge, Upper Main, Sidewinder, Switchback or Come Around making it through the pre-weekend rain in very good shape and Coming Soon, Paradise and Lazy are questionable. Razors seems good to go for a long time if they can move enough snow from trails they are abandoning to keep Homestretch solid. -

I found Razor the best run. First time I have been here with CS open so nice to try it but found it kind of underwhelming for a black -

Nice day. All mashed potatoes. Haven't shared a lift yet. Kudos to Blue for having coverage this good with the weather they have had. Doing better than places with more favorable climates. Nice to check out Blue once a year at a time when there are no crowds. Believe I have been coming here 41 years now. -
I usually do, I don't rule it out. But this season conditions are deteriorating super fast. PA pretty much shutting down after this weekend and decided to get a PA day in today before rainy spell instead. Catskills seem to be about as bad as PA which is why I am choosing Blue over Hunter (down to 4 real runs, and likely 2 by this weekend) today. Don't rule out a VT/NH/CO trip sometime still, but those won't be day trips. And current gas prices with a low mileage vehicle don't make a great case for long drives for sketchy conditions at end of skison (though I did some in Dec).
-
Actually got the $35 PM 4 hr ticket for tomorrow. Extra gas and tolls r/t to Hunter would have been more than that, not to mention the extra time. And Blue has more open than Hunter now. Also always nice to return to a place so familiar with over 40 years of skiing memories once a year. Have an AM appt to take off the snow tires. Could be my last ski day for the season. Certainly my last day trip
-
Likely hitting Blue tomorrow AM for at least my last PA day of the skison, don't know if there will be more days further north or west.
-
Might do a 4-7 day Epic Day pass in addition to Indy

Saw a report on Hunter. Cliff now closed too and conditions sketchy. Blue most likely my call for Tues. Anyone got a spare Buddy pass? -

Hope all are having a blast today. How are conditions looking at Blue? Thinking I may take off Tues to ski Blue if conditions are seeming decent still, or may head further north to Hunter. Open terrain at Hunter is dwindling though - only Hellgate, Cliff, Belt and White Cloud open off the top now. -
Seriously, WTF is with this Weather?
Ski2Live Live2Ski replied to Ride Delaware ?'s topic in General Chat
With last night's rain and more rain forecast for later this week, I am doubtful there will be much worth skiing south of VT pretty soon. Thinking of taking off Tues to ski either Blue or Hunter depending on how conditions look at each, while there are still options within day trip range.
