Afternoon was much better. Conditions on WL got real nice. Soft bumps.
-
Not very good conditions here today. Hard pack and icy in parts. A bit more of a carve-able surface on the double blacks. Hope it softens up after lunch as above freezing. But quite cloudy so who knows. Not really worth the drive so far today. Getting lunch at Slocum Hollow now.
-
Yeah and if any day trippable places we like offer something like a "triple ticket" or "frequent skier card" deal, get that as well to augment the limited day trippable days on Indy (really only 2 Shawnee + 2 Montage). And maybe get the IndySpring pass too.
-
As it seems likely I will be parenting the kids full time next year, the extensiveness of the blackouts Ikon base pass has over school holidays and holiday weekends makes it a poor fit for me, and the full Ikon pass is quite expensive.
-
No idea. Not all that likely as I have never been there. Why do you ask?
-
Considering pairing that with Indy but leaning towards just getting the Indy and maybe other discount plans next year
-
Got 10 days on it which isn't a bad deal though not a steal. Not sure if I will get anymore as I.seem likely to have kids with me 100% of time now and I got them Indy Passes. Going for our 13th 3 person Indy day at Montage tomorrow is a bona fide steal.

Montage made snow last night
-
For Midweek I would probably go for Blue for faster lifts and greater variety of top to bottom runs. For weekends Montage. On weekends the shorter lines at Montage make more of a difference than faster lifts at Blue. Also better glades, steeper steeps and more often stuff left ungroomed at Montage.
-
Not gonna do a full analysis of the many Ikon options at this point. None include anything day trip-able other than limited days at Windham, which is a hike for a day trip. And they don't touch the Indy price point for places further afield. If someone else cares to summarize, have at it.
-
So for my kids and I it would actually be cheaper to do Belleayre passes (with holiday blackouts) paired with IndyPass than to do Montage passes paired with IndyPass. And plan to use the IndyPass during Holiday Blackouts. Prefer Belle to Montage. But it is a bit more of a hike for a day trip. Still thinking might just do IndyPasses and find other discounts for other days.

Belleayre / ORDA offerings (figures after "/" for all 3 ORDA Mts) Full pass 669 / 859 With Holiday Blackouts 389 / 699 20s 369 / 669 Teens 339 / 439 7-12 239 / 339

We have used 12 days so far, compared to only 10 days used on much pricier Epic Local.
-
I understand. I figured that all into my calculation of break even point. I used weekend/holidays to calculate break even point as Montage is about half price.on weekdays, so it would take way more weekdays to break even.
-
I would prefer changing home mountains every year even if no cost impact. And prefer even more not having a home mountain. I crave variety.
-
Number of break even dates for adding Montage could drop if Montage increases day rates next season Montage black out dates on Standard Indy are Xmas week and MLK and Presidents weekends - ideal times to travel further to places without black outs

So with 10% discount Standard 251 adults 98 kids (to 12) No Blackouts 341 adults 143 kids or as add on Standard 170 adults 80 kids No Blackouts 260 adults 125 kids and if one gets as add on to 499 Montage Pass (which this effectively makes $418 for adults and $481 for kids) then total price would be Standard 669 adults 579 kids No Blackouts 759 adults 624 kids Doing the math, to make it worthwhile to add Montage Pass to basic IndyPass (unless one needed Montage access on blackout days), an adult would need to plan to ski at least 9 weekend/holiday days at Montage and a kid would need to plan to ski at least 10 such days at Montage.

INDY OFFERINGS Standard 279 adults 109 kids (to 12) No Blackouts 379 adults 159 kids As add on to member resort season pass Standard 189 adults 89 kids No Blackouts 289 adults 139 kids Current members getting 10% off those rates to renew, and those switching from another multi resort pass get similar discount.

Nice to see the report. Considered being there Sunday then made a last minute call to hit Magic instead, which was a great day and I am glad to have made that call. Hope to hit Catamount later this year, likely 2nd weekend in March.- 1 reply

I saw some New Hampshire plates in their lot, which I figure had to be due to IndyPass, as without a pass providing an incentive it would be a fairly odd decision to drive south to ski. Magic crowd was not bad on Sun. Never waited more than 5 minutes.

Made even better by the availability of an IndyPass add on - I believe details will. E announced tomorrow
