Maybe just give the topic copping a rest since you engage in free flowing conversation too

Frost closes at 4. Take it to the Blue thread. 🙂
-
Got that 1/30 reservation so in for Hunter both days that weekend.
-
Hallelujah - 4 years of Bluebird days on deck
-
I've been trying to get 1/30 (have 1/31) but oddly 1/30 still not open for pass holders

Howard Johnson just off NYS Thruway exit 20 is a good deal less than 30 min away. Can usually book it on a Sat night for ~$90. Or one exit (10 min) south there are places in Kingston for ~$70

D lift from base is a double that goes up 900' vertical and you can ski down 400' from there and get 1000' F Iift to summit. And never a crowd on North Side express lift (900') or West side lift (if open) (1300'). Worst line I have waited in following that approach is 10 min on F lift at peak times. Main 6 pack lift is the most efficient route up from ~8-9 and ~3-4.

They might re-evaluate availability once a day - hope it opens up for ya

Salty - Message me your phone # and I will text you when I cancel. May give it a day or two to see if forecast changes.

Not sure how it works, but I would think their first choice would be to collect some cash.
-
My life is in quarantine when not skiing. Working from home and kids schooling from home.
-
If you want to book Hunter for this weekend I can let you know when I cancel my reservation so you can try then.
-
If I was there I would ski it for sure. Since I'm not doing the 2 day Hunter trip every weekend I will pick the ones that look nicer, especially with a high of 32 forecast for Roundtop Sunday.
-
Skied Heavenly in 1997. That's on NV side of Tahoe, right? Looks like I will just do 1 day at Roundtop this coming weekend. If this forecast holds it is gonna be too frigid for a 2 day Hunter trip.

Day 2 even better than day 1 as fresh snow continued falling, all lifts now open and we did a bunch of trees runs. Day 1: ski conditions 10/10, overall 9/10 Day 2: 10/10 on both fronts Ties with rare super fine days in past years for the best skiing we have experienced without boarding a plane and certainly better that quite a few days in CO/UT/NV too.

Truly Epic conditions. 18" of snow had fallen from Fri night to Sun AM with at least 6" of that Sat night - it would have been too much work to dig my car out so I took a shuttle bus. Continued snowing all day adding I would estimate another 4" on top of that. Every significant trail was open. Wind holds on the 2 main TTB lifts made for bad lines on the other lifts from the base - so we waited in that line once then stayed upper mountain all day til last run we did again from base (as upper lifts had closed). Got 13 runs in with fresh, deep, soft ungroomed snow on every one.

Calling for 11-18" from tonight through tomorrow night at Mt Snow. Should be some nice skiing for us there Sun-Mon. Got an Inn booked withing a mile of the mt so won't have to drive through it that AM.

I figured you might have some in the future.

Never gonna teach your kids to ski?

JF now has every trail on the map open

Not many as my 2nd lift ride included a ~15 min pause - but it got more and more crowded as day went on to the point that after 10 runs I was just - I've skied everything they have open at least once, none of it is so great that it is worth standing in line this long to ski it again. By the last run I was re-skiing the easiest stuff as that lift had the shortest line. Followed by - should I head over to Boulder? Nah I've read some of their lifts are down so that must be insane too. Lesson learned - next time suck it up and drive to Hunter if it's a weekend or holiday and don't consider having Frost much of a reason to considering whether to renew Epic or change it up. They were really understaffed too. Nobody engaging in any lift line management and only 1 lift (the A one - that was closed last year) even had someone scanning passes.
