  1. If you want to book Hunter for this weekend I can let you know when I cancel my reservation so you can try then.
  2. If I was there I would ski it for sure. Since I'm not doing the 2 day Hunter trip every weekend I will pick the ones that look nicer, especially with a high of 32 forecast for Roundtop Sunday.
  3. Skied Heavenly in 1997. That's on NV side of Tahoe, right? Looks like I will just do 1 day at Roundtop this coming weekend. If this forecast holds it is gonna be too frigid for a 2 day Hunter trip.
  4. Day 2 even better than day 1 as fresh snow continued falling, all lifts now open and we did a bunch of trees runs. Day 1: ski conditions 10/10, overall 9/10 Day 2: 10/10 on both fronts Ties with rare super fine days in past years for the best skiing we have experienced without boarding a plane and certainly better that quite a few days in CO/UT/NV too.
  5. Truly Epic conditions. 18" of snow had fallen from Fri night to Sun AM with at least 6" of that Sat night - it would have been too much work to dig my car out so I took a shuttle bus. Continued snowing all day adding I would estimate another 4" on top of that. Every significant trail was open. Wind holds on the 2 main TTB lifts made for bad lines on the other lifts from the base - so we waited in that line once then stayed upper mountain all day til last run we did again from base (as upper lifts had closed). Got 13 runs in with fresh, deep, soft ungroomed snow on every one.

  7. Calling for 11-18" from tonight through tomorrow night at Mt Snow. Should be some nice skiing for us there Sun-Mon. Got an Inn booked withing a mile of the mt so won't have to drive through it that AM.
  8. I figured you might have some in the future.
  9. Never gonna teach your kids to ski?
  10. JF now has every trail on the map open
  11. Wouldn't most of the people who own those condos have been driving to JF anyway unless they are into the park scene. It's not like they are ski in/out to BB
  12. Can't say the lines at Blue on a weekend are any better. At Hunter it is possible to avoid any serious lines even on weekends by not taking the 6 other than first or last hr. They def prefer Epic pass to Blue pass.
  13. Not many as my 2nd lift ride included a ~15 min pause - but it got more and more crowded as day went on to the point that after 10 runs I was just - I've skied everything they have open at least once, none of it is so great that it is worth standing in line this long to ski it again. By the last run I was re-skiing the easiest stuff as that lift had the shortest line. Followed by - should I head over to Boulder? Nah I've read some of their lifts are down so that must be insane too. Lesson learned - next time suck it up and drive to Hunter if it's a weekend or holiday and don't consider having Frost much of a reason to considering whether to renew Epic or change it up. They were really understaffed too. Nobody engaging in any lift line management and only 1 lift (the A one - that was closed last year) even had someone scanning passes.
  14. Frost today. Should have driven to Hunter.
  15. At least the runs are a bit longer, the headwalls steeper, the river views prettier, and the lines shorter.
  16. Long lines for slow lifts feeding short runs on tame terrain. At least they still blow snow in the trees. It is a lot closer than Hunter, but will not do it again this season without East open.
  17. My kids split a hot chocolate so that the break takes 15 min instead of 30. I am criticizing them for making a change that led to staffing issues that prevent them operating on the promised schedule.
  18. A ridiculous move. Close to zero cost for them to offer than benefit.
  19. I have no idea if Hunter will be open this weekend, but with that being uncertain and JF already having Sat sold out for reservations I cancelled my Hunter Sunday reservation to make a Sunday JF reservation while they were still available - as you can only reserve one Epic Mt per day.
  20. With the issues going down at Hunter I'll be hitting PA's own JF this Sunday. First PA trip of the Skison Beats not skiing.
  21. Hunter closed tomorrow too. What does "excluded out of work" even mean? Maybe worth hiring someone who speaks fluent English to post these updates?
  22. Hope it wasn't the patroller who shared a 6 pack lift with me Sunday. At least we both stayed masked.
  23. Me own "parody" lyrics based on his "Carolina In My Mind"
  24. It is possible I would bring mine, but my skis are not optimal for the conditions I would hope to ski in and excess baggage costs might well equal rental costs - depending on length of trip. Either way I would pay something to have skis there.
