  1. Talked to someone on the phone from Camelback and they say they are staying open mid week and planning to go through March 29. Of course not really counting on that as that is what folks who worked at JF were staying yesterday. May check them out Friday if they make it that long. Hard to know what to expect from anything these days except more stuff closing down unexpectedly every day though.
  2. Was there til 30 min before closed. Nice conditions but no way JF will be able to reopen 2 weekends from now without a dump of snow. Could conceive of BB trying to pull it off goven their history - but dont know how their coverage is. Looks like CB will be only game in eastern PA after tomorrow.
  3. I do it more when it is warm cause I dont mind taking my hands out of gloves. Plus I figured this was a place few of you had seen. Same reasons you saw pix of Whitetail last march.
  4. Glad you all enjoyed the pix.
  5. Dont ask if you dont want to know. I assumed that was what you were getting at, having already alluded a touchmore discretely to being busy with nocturnal activities.
  6. Had better things than ski to do in the AM with my woman. And no rush to get out when going somewhere with no lines. Took my time and enjoyed the PM turns.
  7. For a day when I was getting a late start due to a combination of a time change and a full program of nocturnal activities, a place that was closer and did not shut lifts at 4 was a much better value, with no charge for me to go either place other than gas and tolls.
  8. Had fun spring skiing at Roundtop today and even snapped some pix of the ungroomed trails.
  9. Explains why I got my most ski days in 2 years ago (31). But I am on track to beat it this year at 26 of 99 days skied through March 1 with 4 days booked at Vail in April.
  10. Yep same mountains in the East as this year. Main improvements are 20% food etc discount (beats the 12.5% on food only gotten by pre paying for Peak Dining card) More limited blackout days (for Stowe and some Western places) - none on Pres Weekend and only Sat of MLK weekend - so we should get to Stowe next year
  11. We are doing Epic local. The NE pass does not save money for kids at all and has worse black out dates and no Rockies. Not worth swallowing all that to save $130.
  12. I have been to Stowe but have not been this year - didn't work well due to its blackout days on Epic Local pass we have Going to Vail in early April. Was last there about 15 years ago.
  13. I don't expect to be there much in March so if you want to give it a try there's your chance.
  14. True - I normally think of it more with the Catskills areas as distance is equivalent but definitely in PA.
  15. Cool cause Hunter certainly does not need more people. It is kind of the Blue of the Catskills. Definitely not my fav place in the Skills, just the one that is on my pass.
  16. We skied Hunter since you ask. I am partial to my daughters company but am glad you also enjoyed the people you were with. Sorry no pix of our food. Thought this thread was about changing it up from PA skiing
  17. Another fine weekend at the place with the most vertical on the EC south of VT
  18. Of the 4 places in PA we enjoy skiing regularly, the cheapest pass would be the best deal for a single mountain pass, yes. Of course one of those places is on Epic, and the Epic pass could be a better deal than a single mountain pass even at a higher price point. And I would not have any interest in a single mountain pass in PA at a place further from me than the 2:15 I am from Montage
  19. Montage is their fav place in PA
  20. Provide a link to $299 Blue pass and I will purchase
  21. I dislike Mt Creek. Have not been there for a decade (when I lived 45 min away I occasionally hit it when I lacked time to go further)
  22. I like Montage better than the Epic PA options other than Whitetail (which is as far as Hunter). Likely Epic will be my best bet again though if I want a mega pass - especially as kids will still make the cut off for child rate by 2 weeks (not 12 yet on April 6). But gotta see their pricing. Could also consider doing Montage and ponying up for our more distant trips.
  23. Is anyplace as good offering a season pass for less in PA? If so I would love to know about it.
  24. Only candidates for best deal in PA for me would be the places I like skiing that are significantly closer than Hunter. So that is to say it is a better deal than the passes offered by Blue or Camelback. Waiting to see what Frost/Epic deal is. Not being Blue not even a factor. If Blue were to offer a pass at the identical price I would say it was the best deal in PA. But not at 40% more $.
