  1. Stayed at the Merill Farm House Inn in North Conway. Nice people and place with a free sit down breakfast, cookie hour apres ski, late night musical jam session, and a private hot tub room you could book for 30 min.
  2. Sun we hit Wildcat which had gotten 4" fresh the night before which continued to come down during the day. Lines were never more than about 5 min on a high speed quad serving 2000' vertical even on Presidents Saturday. Clearly made the right call coming hear as I heard lines were very bad at Attitash that day. This place was a marvel. Conditions were amazing with fresh snow and mt 100% open. Loved the classic winding New England trails, tree runs and challenging ungroomed steeps. Super friendly people too leading to lots of interesting lift conversations. One guy told me of the adventures he and his buddies have had getting successive new ownership to honor the Lifetime Passes they purchased in 68/69. May be my favorite place I have skied in the East though there are plenty with more horizontal.
  3. 4 fun days of skiing from Sat to Tues that could not have been more different from one another. Saturday we hit Crotched largely to break up the drive to North Conway. With 900 feet of vertical it was fairly reminiscent of NEPA skiing but with a nice fresh inch on top. Glades were more abundant (but conditions were not great in them). Zero lift lines on a high speed quad were nice but it was bitterly cold and we had a couple more hours driving to do so after 8 runs we called it a day.
  4. Not sure what the upgrade deal is but they offered it last year so I expect they will do so again. Waiting to hear details on other passes before deciding what to get for next year. Camelback could be appealing particularly if integrated with Ikon.
  5. If you have one or more kids under 18 it comes out cheaper as they have a kids/teens rate
  6. Sat Crotched Sun Wildcat Mon Attitash Tues Sunnapee
  7. For folks who already have a season pass there or elsewhere- CB is offering 20/21 Super Passes (also good this year) for $499 adults and $349 kids and they throw in 3 bring a friend passes and a Camelbeach pass Best skiing deal in PA for someone with 1 or more kids. They are also starting a season pass holder line and will likely offer an upgrade to access Ikon properties as they did last year.
  8. Wow MC did not boost their prices like most areas do and is again offering $229 season passes for rest of this season and all of next. Don't care for MC or live close enough to want to get one, but an insane deal. Less than 50% of what Blue is asking for a pass to an area that is fairly comparable in terms of vertical and acreage (and, unfortunately, crowds).
  9. $429 for kids? Bring back the $99 kids rate and we'll talk Blue.
  10. Nice day at Frost yesterday, lines were small and snow was falling fast enough that I was covered in snow after each lift ride and conditions were noticeably getting better all afternoon.
  11. I have often seen skier carved bumps at CB. Lower Cleopatra often is left ungroomed to bump up. Never seen the seeded ones there - and I prefer the naturally carved ones.
  12. Was reading that one trail they have here - Upper Gunbarrel (not open at present) - has an insanely steep headwall that at times avalanches.
  13. Big Snow has a park too. Didn't see any of those windy trails open the one time I went to Campgaw (when I worked about 15 min away). Basically was just one wide flat gentle slope at that time.
  14. Good point. Campgaw has not much more vertical (240 vs 160), has more expensive tix (good for a longer time, but how long do people spend somewhere this size), is further from NYC and is generally gonna have worse weather and conditions. The main thing Campgaw would seem to have going for it as a differentiator is snow tubing (kind of surprised they did not include tubing at Big Snow).
  15. You should keep getting Blue passes and take good care of your health.
  16. Only Peak resorts, not the other Epic ones.
  17. I believe I paid $250 and got a card with $287.50 on it to be used at any Peak resort food service place (except Waffle Cabin) with no time limit. Have just under $90 left on it so should easily use it up this year.
  18. Cant see going back to a 1 mtn PA pass again unless it is an absolute steal. Kids have gotten a taste for skiing larger places and having variety. They found skiing the same place almost every weekend kind of dull last year, notwithstanding a couple mini glades.
  19. It is a Peak dining card and works at Frost. Floyd's was nice. River Shot had a bit better conditions. Bummer there were no bumps on Exhibition and (understandably) no trees in play. Frost is not so exciting on the days it is nothing but groomers.
  20. They have the Elevator slope kind of open yesterday with an "ungroomed terrain" sign marking the drop off, though there was not enough coverage on the flattish area below the drop, so you would have to either curve back onto River Shot or walk back to it. Didn't try it.
  21. Pretty nice forecast for Sun
  22. Awesome to hear. Thanks for the update. Sounds like Elk could be a good plan after all.
  23. Looked into their conditions report today and I am feeling it is unlikely I will take advantage of this offer unless there is significant inprovement. With easily half of their acreage and ~2/3 of their black diamond trails closed, it's not worth the drive and the $30. If they crank up the snow making and get a couple more blacks open by Sun, I will re-evaluate.
  24. No twins with me this coming weekend. They got theirs in VT the last 3 days.
