Thanks for the assist stretching the thread to p.2 a couple days before the topic day begins. Clearly a topic with ski legs.

Having discovery lodge open, with rentals, but no beginner only runs seems to me like Gondola has to run, how else could folks ski out of that lodge?
-
Right, but if they dont run their beginner lift, can you access a TTB green run from Gondola?
-
Why do you figure no Gondola. Can you ski a green off top of Gondola?
-
I'm never happy finishing a skison when there is still more I can do in day trip distance, but glad you got to go to CO.
-
Now up on their site https://www.belleayre.com/the-mountain/snow-report No beginner terrain will be open in case that makes some folks want to reconsider.
-
Enjoy your "barely skiing" cause it is in your back yard

Dont honestly care if folks join me. I was providing some useful information that is not yet online about a nice offer for folks who want to ski at a fun place at a low cost an easy drive away the weekend after PA skiing ended. If that is a "dick" move the world could use more dicks. I would welcome posts like this over 99% of the posts I read here if someone else were to have posted such info. But by all means stay home cause I provided it in a slightly taunting manner. That will show me.

Belleayre's closing day will be Sat April 13 They are offering discounted lift tickets for only $25 for general public $10 for folks with season pass to another mountain Any of you folks like skiing enough to join me there or are you all hanging them up for the next 7.5 months til Blue opens again cause you dont like skiing enough to take a little drive?
-
Guess we will find out today or tomorrow if Belleayre will be open and what deal they will offer. Also considering an overnight trip to Snow.

Camelback might be being sold...
Ski2Live Live2Ski replied to GrilledSteezeSandwich's topic in Camelback
Thanks for the info. Both will be tempting. Will see how they price their offerings. Will be great to have passes usable in PA and CO starting next March. Until then looking forward to spending time at Hunter and Snow and one trip to Peak's NH resorts. -

Camelback seems a much better fit for Vail. Wouldnt need to toss a bunch of money at it to bring the amenities up to a level that wouldnt tarnish the brand. Vail doesnt do wedding tents as ski lodges. I'll get a 2020 Epic pass in they acquire either. -
What's left that is day trippable? Belleayre is tentatively re-opening next weekend Is Big Boulder still considering it? Anything else?
-
If you prioritize stats over skiing experience that makes some sense I guess. The only stats I find meaningful are days and vertical feet. To me 2 500' runs are the same as 1 1000' run - but take longer and are less exciting.
-
Made it to Hunter in only 2:35 yesterday. There will not that many times I am going to opt for a 1:55 trip to Frost over that. Some times with the kids, none solo. I'm gonna be a NY skier mostly next year. Saudi Arabia will be pleased.

How do you figure more short runs are better than longer runs? The last 30 seconds of skiing a run at Blue you find yourself wishing you were standing in a lift line again?
-
Belleayre holding out the possibility of re-opening Sat-Sun. Stuff it fat lady.
-
Having a great day at Hunter. Went down this my first run. Most runs had much better coverage than this. The whole main face and the North pod are open. No lines.
-
Sunday for me, either here or Hunter, new GF needed a ride to the airport today
-
No need to go early, there were no lines in the PM last Sunday
-
Will be at CB and/or Hunter at least one day this weekend, maybe a day at each.
-
P.S. Belleayre offering $10 mid week tix and 25% off weekend tix to other mountain pass holders
-
No but others were internet dates so a different thing where you barely know one another compared to deciding to turn that corner with someone you have become progressively closer to as friends and collaborators over 8 months.
-
Rats, so they are. May have to hit it Sunday. Its depressing season. On bright side girl I have been crushing on and who has been singing with my band some just asked me to date yesterday and then drunk texted me all night. Should make the non ski season much more exciting.

Bactrian still there
