  1. Camelback seems a much better fit for Vail. Wouldnt need to toss a bunch of money at it to bring the amenities up to a level that wouldnt tarnish the brand. Vail doesnt do wedding tents as ski lodges. I'll get a 2020 Epic pass in they acquire either.
  2. What's left that is day trippable? Belleayre is tentatively re-opening next weekend Is Big Boulder still considering it? Anything else?
  3. If you prioritize stats over skiing experience that makes some sense I guess. The only stats I find meaningful are days and vertical feet. To me 2 500' runs are the same as 1 1000' run - but take longer and are less exciting.
  4. Made it to Hunter in only 2:35 yesterday. There will not that many times I am going to opt for a 1:55 trip to Frost over that. Some times with the kids, none solo. I'm gonna be a NY skier mostly next year. Saudi Arabia will be pleased.
  5. How do you figure more short runs are better than longer runs? The last 30 seconds of skiing a run at Blue you find yourself wishing you were standing in a lift line again?
  6. Belleayre holding out the possibility of re-opening Sat-Sun. Stuff it fat lady.
  7. Having a great day at Hunter. Went down this my first run. Most runs had much better coverage than this. The whole main face and the North pod are open. No lines.
  8. Sunday for me, either here or Hunter, new GF needed a ride to the airport today
  9. No need to go early, there were no lines in the PM last Sunday
  10. Will be at CB and/or Hunter at least one day this weekend, maybe a day at each.
  11. P.S. Belleayre offering $10 mid week tix and 25% off weekend tix to other mountain pass holders
  12. No but others were internet dates so a different thing where you barely know one another compared to deciding to turn that corner with someone you have become progressively closer to as friends and collaborators over 8 months.
  13. Rats, so they are. May have to hit it Sunday. Its depressing season. On bright side girl I have been crushing on and who has been singing with my band some just asked me to date yesterday and then drunk texted me all night. Should make the non ski season much more exciting.
  14. Bactrian still there
  15. Yeah they told me at guest services Sunday that they are open through 4/7 I believe BB is open through 4/14, but smart non Park rats will be at Hunter that weekend. The extra drive will be less than the extra time you spend on lift rides 5x longer than your runs
  16. No coincidence I started producing a CD the same month I stopped paying alimony
  17. Alimony is all done and, given 50/50 custody, child support payments cost me about as much as splitting a pizza and hot cocoa at Blue 2-3x a month.
  18. I was responding to someone who brought up the topic of skiing expenses. But if you dont care, that is fine and somewhat symmetrical because I dont care that you dont care.
  19. Could wind up at CB next weekend, but Hunter more likely for me.
  20. I spent less that half that for 3, even including gas and meals. But I am glad to hear you got to ski a lot and had a good winter. Hope to get another few days in still myself.
  21. Congrats we came out at $10 assuming we dont hit CB again on the pass
  22. Guest services when they gave us our tix for today
  23. Both express lifts at CB opened by noon. 100% of trails open. Conditions better on Stevenson side, with the best of main face being Marge, Rocket & Big Po. Baselisk is a fun trail. Definitely narrower and steeper than lower sidewinder. Wonder if they will ever open the part of the old slide route above it to skiers. Definitely would also be skiable with some snow. No need to save free ticket for next weekend, they said pass holders from other mountains can ski as many times as they like through closing day a week from today.
  24. Plus gift cards
