  1. Looks a little less goth when giving my girls singing lessons
  2. There is a song with that title on the album. But that sort of begs the question, as the words "Bed of Roses" never appear in the song, though it does mention a "bedroom," "flowers" and a "thorn". I did know a girl named Rose in college that partially inspired it. Nothing to do with our singer Vanessa Rose. Of course we do use a bed of roses as background images in our artwork, as well as some thorns.
  3. Not gonna quit my day job but reception has exceeded expectations with a stellar review in a well respected music paper with a 50 year history - best music media outlet in NJ. https://www.theaquarian.com/2018/09/26/shoreworld-the-beagles-bed-of-roses/ We are rehearsing to put on a 2 hour celebration of Motown next week with an expanded 20 person lineup. Similar to what we did last September.
  4. Prices good through April 30. But expect to buy mine by March 17 and go to one of them that day.
  5. Adding $99 7th grade option would sell them 2 of those and an extra adult pass if done before I spring for Peak Pass
  6. Unfortunately Sunday is the better day by far for me as I will be out til Midnight Friday and lead a rehearsal starting at 2 on Sat. But not gonna ski when rsin is very likely.
  7. Epic adds Blue before I spring for Peak Pass and Epic gets my $
  8. Unlikely, but I might well check out Whitetail sometime when we are starting and ending the day at my parents place in Jenkintown (it is at least closer to there than Hunter is). With close to 1000' vertical and an experts only pod it has always interested me.
  9. From central NJ I will likely hit Hunter as often as JFrost, as the extra 2 hrs R/T is made up for by runs 2.5x as long and 2x as challenging with about the same time spent on the lift. And S.Vt is about as far as I would drive to ski on a 2 day weekend, which could even be done with one night in a hotel if we are hit the slopes around 11 on Sat and then get a full day in Sunday. For longer trips I look forward to checking out the NH options. Doubt I will do it multiple years, but these options should be more satisfying for a season than a Blue only pass was this year - and get the kids skills up to a level to better enjoy an Ikon pass the following year. Not that I have any complaints about the $12 or less per skier day Blue will have set us back as it is more fun than seeing a movie every weekend.
  10. At least their lift lines will now be shorter
  11. Cool, might make a nice stop en route to break up the long drive.
  12. Passes go on sale today. Looking forward to skiing Frost, Hunter & Snow starting this Spring, and a trip to Attitash and Wildcat over New Years.
  13. We will be able to get folks 25% off tix at any Peak resort we are at (3 people per day)
  14. Decided on Peak Pass. Will get it fairly soon to use it some this Skison.
  15. Definitely ski a lot more challenging stuff now than I did in my 20s, though I find it less challenging. I did start wearing a helmet when I became a father
  16. They are psyched for NY, VT, NH
  17. To me even Hunter is a night and day difference. The runs are 50% longer, there are way more skiable trees, natural bumps rather than seeded ones, and the double blacks on Hunter west challenge me - while there is nothing at Blue that challenges me unless it is because it gets scraped to ice. It will be a nice way to keep the girls skills progressing.
  18. I think Hunter, Mt Snow (and I expect, though I have not been there) Wildcat and Attitash are all significantly better skiing than Blue, and like having Frost for when we dont want to drive more, and BB for some local April turns.
  19. Mt Creek is further than Blue for me.
  20. I dont like skiing at Mt Creek. My first choice is Peak Pass. Let's see where we come out.
  21. For us the difference with the Ikon base is it would save us $380 but limit us to 5 days at each of the 3 VT areas. Kids ranked CB as their least favorite of the options, so it got voted off the island, tiki torch and all
  22. Kids need to be consulted further tonight now that I have roughed out a calendar of where we would ski when each season with each option. I have also ruled out Ikon base pass, so our three options are Peak Ikon standard Montage
  23. Healthy blood pressure, though Luke Perry spooked me as a seemingly healthy guy younger than me dropping dead from sudden natural causes
  24. Epic out of the running. Even their local pass would cost us $90 more than the full Ikon pass. And I would rather have Stratton/Killington/Sugarbush as my VT options than only Okemo (the only VT option on Epic local). They both have great options in Rockies so that isn't a factor. So choosing between Ikon, Peak and Montage at this point - and most likely we will do one of the passes not "option 7" as the kids are with me both winter long weekends next year, when PS&R cards and the BOGOs we get with their season rentals are blacked out.
