Biggest factor, other than what the other offerings yet to come out look like, will be whether the girls are up for spending lots of weekends travelling to ski and seeing their grandparents a lot less as a result. Most often we ski Sat and see grandparents Sat night into Sunday.
-
It would cost me a lot more money in hotels and gas for sure, as I'd likely be hitting Stratton weekends with the girls and Killington or Sugarbush weekends without them (or maybe fly up to visit my buddy with a place in Sunday River) - and also plan a couple western trips. And overall would ski a lot more as I would ski 2-3 days on those weekends. And weekends without the girls I would likely shorten the trip to VT by going straight to/from my office in Jersey City. But I dont mind spending more for a higher quality skiing product. I just dont want to spend more than I have to for PA skiing. Not sold on it yet, but it is a tempting deal with the kids pass rates being good only next season for them. Want to see what Peak has to offer too.

Considering the idea of getting Ikon passes for myself and kids next year. Would only be 976 for the three of us for base passes or 1349 for full passes (still not much more than Blue). This is the last year they will be eligible for kids pricing so this is the year to do it if ever. Would mean a bunch of road trip weekends to VT, a couple trips out west and very little PA skiing.

Right, it wasnt a real attractive deal was the real problem. If he was offering 40% off they would have been snapped right up if someone could arrange a secure way to do the transaction - newcomer or no. I just don't get why the hostility.
-
Glad to hear he wasnt banned.
-
Not the best form, sure. I expect the reception would have been better if he had offered a larger discount. But not liking the deal he is offering doesnt make him malicious.
-
Pretty sad example of bullying here IMO. You dont like his offer, pass on it. I saw no need for the attacks and, apparently, a banning. I realize some of you folks aren't too far removed from high school, but that doesnt mean you should act like it.

Yep too young to ski, and a fine time to ski less and bond with daughter more. In a couple years you can bond on the slopes and the sooner you start her the sooner she wont be willing to wait up for you going down the slopes. -

Maybe some of you folks were skiing the glades or bumps? They were on the slick side. -

Loved the conditions today. 17 runs between 830 and 1. Switchback may have been my fac today. -
I vote for River Shot at JF as best ski view in PA

Yeah I went there a couple times in early 90s when I went to school in NC. They got a ton of snow and had no crowds.

Best one West or Denver and South of I-80 not named Snowshoe for sure.

It would be worth having 2 rankings perhaps, a relative to mountain green / blue / black and a more objective perhaps 1 to 10 scale based on how steep/narrow/twisty it is compared to ski trails in general. Cause a purely objective scale that gave everything in PA a green or blue would not be real informative for the beginners who need these ratings the most.

Our district in NJ only had Monday off

I heard from someone on a lift last weekend that this will be the last weekend Blue considers making snow, other than perhaps spot touch ups, as electric rates go up after that. Any truth?
-
Of course trail rankings indicate difficulty compared to other things on that mountain.

Blue offers the $99 6th grade passes to kids that had the PA 5th Grade Ski Passports the year before, no doubt as a way to try to convert "ski around" families into Blue devotees.
