  1. And likely to be especially sweet tomorrow as they are closed Mon-Thurs, dont groom at least 75% of their terrain when they get freshies, and dont have crowds skiing it.
  2. Plattekill got a couple feet of snow this week I hear. Place to go this weekend, but closed Mon
  3. Yep one of my 11yo twins. Thanks.
  4. Value pass good weekends this March too
  5. Salty does have a point that last year's Peak Drifter pass was only for folks under 30, but rules could be different this year. And of course Peak Pass applies not just to Hunter but also to Frost, Snow and 7 other places.
  6. Probably best not to spring for that Blue pass before finding out how much better the skiing at Hunter is and finding out on March 6 what kind of deal Peak will offer millennials this year.
  7. Yes, that is a factor against Montage and CB. Less so against the other options as I see NY/VT/Rockies skiing options as distinct enough that Blue isnt real competitive, particularly as they will likely be available after Blue closes its slopes. And is offset by the fact that Ikon deal is unique to while they will be under 13 - so only next year.
  8. Of course if I can get in on the betting action, depending on odds and $ caps on bets, that could influence my decision. Who wants to let Pete Rose in the HOF? Like if you will give 10:1 odds against me getting Blue passes, and take a $100 bet, I will even bring the sausage when we make it on a Sunday.
  9. Why dismiss Montage? PS&R cards also an option Definitely passing on Mountain Creek Not doing Blue. Maybe the following year. 4 strikes against it - more expensive pass price than at least Montage, CB, Ikon options - no kids pricing makes no reason to do it this year over others - we are getting a bit bored going to same place every weekend and would not want a second consecutive year devoted to same place - it is the only pass option we would not get any benefit from this Spring, as we already have passes there this year
  10. Very attractive deal to consider, thanks for the heads up. One thing that is appealing about Montage is that there are some pretty good quality reasonable priced hotels a few miles away (I like Hampton Inns), making it a better option for both weekend days than Blue is, mitigating the greater distance and an easier place to ski Pow days (also helped by proximity to Interstate. And of course the "never a lift line" factor. Considering this, Ikon, CB Value, and waiting to see what offers Peak and ORDA come through with.
  11. They are into the sha la la la la low
  12. Nah paying full freight, about $100 each, but it does count as an early birthday present
  13. Sat AM with girls it it doesnt rain. Sunday we will be experiencing indoor winter in NYC.
  14. Biggest factor, other than what the other offerings yet to come out look like, will be whether the girls are up for spending lots of weekends travelling to ski and seeing their grandparents a lot less as a result. Most often we ski Sat and see grandparents Sat night into Sunday.
  15. It would cost me a lot more money in hotels and gas for sure, as I'd likely be hitting Stratton weekends with the girls and Killington or Sugarbush weekends without them (or maybe fly up to visit my buddy with a place in Sunday River) - and also plan a couple western trips. And overall would ski a lot more as I would ski 2-3 days on those weekends. And weekends without the girls I would likely shorten the trip to VT by going straight to/from my office in Jersey City. But I dont mind spending more for a higher quality skiing product. I just dont want to spend more than I have to for PA skiing. Not sold on it yet, but it is a tempting deal with the kids pass rates being good only next season for them. Want to see what Peak has to offer too.
  16. Considering the idea of getting Ikon passes for myself and kids next year. Would only be 976 for the three of us for base passes or 1349 for full passes (still not much more than Blue). This is the last year they will be eligible for kids pricing so this is the year to do it if ever. Would mean a bunch of road trip weekends to VT, a couple trips out west and very little PA skiing.
  17. Right, it wasnt a real attractive deal was the real problem. If he was offering 40% off they would have been snapped right up if someone could arrange a secure way to do the transaction - newcomer or no. I just don't get why the hostility.
  18. Glad to hear he wasnt banned.
  19. Not the best form, sure. I expect the reception would have been better if he had offered a larger discount. But not liking the deal he is offering doesnt make him malicious.
  20. Pretty sad example of bullying here IMO. You dont like his offer, pass on it. I saw no need for the attacks and, apparently, a banning. I realize some of you folks aren't too far removed from high school, but that doesnt mean you should act like it.
  21. This weather really blows
  22. Yep too young to ski, and a fine time to ski less and bond with daughter more. In a couple years you can bond on the slopes and the sooner you start her the sooner she wont be willing to wait up for you going down the slopes.
  23. Maybe some of you folks were skiing the glades or bumps? They were on the slick side.
