  1. And speaking of lights the prospect of shifting colored lights on blue's snow tubing runs is super exciting. I expect skiing will soon be yesterday's news in Palmerton unless Blue upgrades their lighting to similar standards mountain wide
  2. Take it to the Blue discussion
  3. Looks like JF for me Sat unless Hunter dodges the rain on Sat or Sun. Will stay home Fri. Not burning a Vaca day for this level of skiing.
  4. So basically 2 TTB runs like JF.
  5. Not bad - that is 4-5 distinct runs if they pull it all off And I can see how they would count 13
  6. It doesn't matter really - that was a joke. But I am a diehard upper lotter since before there was a lower lot. Little Gap class of 1981. Yeah I'd rather be at Hunter if rain doesn't force my hand
  7. Worth paying to ski that over Jane's and One Park at Frost if Hunter is a washout. Want to get all the skiing I can in for my girls before we hit Beaver Creek 12/23
  8. $57 for a 4hr ticket is quite reasonable. Actually may show with the teens if 1. The current forecast holds with much less chance of rain in PA than in NY or VT 2. There is a worthwhile trail offering compared to JF (which will only have 2 blue runs with 400' vertical). 3. They open the upper lot If the briefly posted 13 trail count holds true, what do folks think the offering will be? I'm sure some will be of negligible interest like Tuts, Homestretch, Crossing . . .
  9. I expect to switch to Ikon next year as I consider both Blue and Cbk to be "better ones closer to me" than JF
  10. Epic has 8 PA ski areas - which I believe is more than they (or Ikon) have in any other state I wish they had better ones closer to me. Of the non-Ikon ones the most appealing additions would be Montage or Elk
  11. Neither dead nor all that innocent but won't make opening day at Blue. Might be at Hunter, Snow or Okemo depending on where it's not raining this weekend. Hope it's good enough weather to only go as far as Hunter. JF's opening with very limited terrain is not tempting.
  12. It was there before. Can't find it now.
  13. Posted on FB they will have 13 trails when they open. Nice!
  14. Had a little snow sticking to the lawn and car in Central NJ. A pleasant sight
  15. So go ski Bear Creek. I get being too lazy to drive to Belleayre or Hunter, but that's in your back yard.
  16. Still no lines at midday. And nice conditions on Belt and Hellgate on down. Looks like next to open will be Minya and Overlook. Clam Chowder lunch in foreground.
  17. Hunter tomorrow
  18. I don't start a lot of threads
  19. Real nice day at Belleayre. A couple inches of soft snow on top of the base on Deer Run. Headwalls on Seneca and Peekamoose were a bit slick. Rode the Gondola 12× with line always under 2 minutes, never getting as far back as the RFID gates.
  20. Got our Belleayre tix for Friday! $218 for 3 (including the RFID cards). Keeping the streak alive - 8 years in a row of skiing in November. First time my kids will do the driving.
  21. Belleayre will be top to bottom for Black Friday Ski ya there
  22. Have you ever tried getting divorced? It is an expensive and emotionally draining process unless both parties are in complete alignment on what they want the financial and custodial terms of thebdivorce to be. I would say having experienced how challenging it is to get a divorce makes it unlikely we will get married even after she gets divorced. Neither of us plan to have more kids - which is IMO the best reason for people to get married. We would rather remain in a relationship as long as it suits us without making it so we would have to go through that process again if we ever wanted to end it.
  23. She isn't even divorced yet 🙃
  24. Worth it to me to drive for an extra weekend with skiing and really I don't need much on day 1 as mostly about reminding muscles not used since April what I expect of them. Belleayre will likely have 926' of vertical open with 3 runs including blue, black and double black. Remains to be seen if Hunter will open but if they do it will be 1463' of vertical with blue and black terrain. Either are close enough to day trip. Worth it for me, even if I have to buy 3 tix to ski off pass at Belleayre. Going to Beaver Creek in a month and want to get my teens in good skiing shape for the season well before then. If we don't do it Fri then next day I could take them would be Dec 10. Ski it when you can.
  25. So you all waiting til Dec to ski or anyone else road tripping north with a belly full of triptamine?
