Glad to hear there is a good reason for preferring natural bumps. Tailor made for a skier like me is just exactly perfect.

I an certainly not a bump maven, but I personally very much prefer the bumps that form naturally at CB and Montage to the seeded runs.

Push piles are how natural bumps start, no?Neither is a seeded mogul run.

With the Blue pass it makes no sense to me, as I'm never going to pay to ski Big Bear or Shawnee when I have a Blue pass to use. I might go to JF for trees or CB for variety and lesser crowds. But throw in membership cost ($25 if renewing) and it would be $97 for 2 days I get to ski a Pocono Mt other than Blue, which is really not much of a deal, particularly as if I am going to spend $ to ski somewhere different I would rather it be Catskills or North.

Seems to me Cliffhanger usually has more moguls than Pharaohs. Not that either tend to have anything more than mini-moguls.

For me it is pretty key to have more than one run with some incline to it off the only left that accesses their full vertical. Lapping Cliff would get old a lot quicker than alternating them.

They get out the door somewhere between 805 (if taking bus) and 835 for school. That wont help much.

I am skeptical about how much they will love getting up early enough to beat the crowds at Blue on weekends

True, especially as 1. Not doing PS&R card this year 2. Will be in CO on Xmas Only way I can see hitting CB this year is if they have a longer season in Nov or April. But Blue passes likely only for 1 year while they have 6th grade rate.

I have never seen Hunter get as crowded as Blue does at its peak

Just saw there are going to be large glade areas open between all the trails in the new Hunter North terrain. That could get me to go for a Peak pass next season.

Now just gotta hope they get some decent snow by then. Seem to remember last year was pretty rough for CO early season.

Booked Copper, staying at Mountain Plaza near lift with indoor and outdoor hot tubs and shuttle to and from DIA. With skiing and rentals, flights and airport parking whole trip will run about $2200 + 40k miles + food which I expect is more than I paid for all last season of skiing including Winter Park trip. Could have saved about $300 by doing Loveland, renting a car, and staying at the cheapest place in Georgetown, but figure the Copper route will be a much better experience for about an extra 12%, so gonna live a little.
