  1. If they must name snow storms, at least it is fitting to name one after the world's second most famous Eskimo
  2. Hoping for thst sweet spot of - awesome snow somewhere in Poconos - kids school cancelled - roads clear enough to drive to Mt. - hanging out by JFskiDan when he is looking to split cocoa
  3. Got the email. 6th grade Ski passes are $99 this year. I will take it $399 + 99 + 99 - 50 (sold off two Blue lift tkt vouchers for $25 each when I got this) = $547 for 3 of us to ski Blue all next season.
  4. Crazy how many folks fly without helmets like the fuselage alone is going to save them if it drops out of the sky.
  5. I had the egg roll, they had the fried rice, split the entree
  6. Found a Chinese place Sat just off 33 that will be a regular stop on the way home on days skiing with the girls - got a nice combo plate we all split for less than the price of a burger at Blue. We do look forward to trying the S'mores Skillet at Slopeside I won for filling out a survey to tell Blue that they need a singles line and need all lifts running on weekends. Will go down nicely with 3 way hot cocoa.
  7. Yep, I would rather see a high speed lift replace Phoebe Snow which services the terrain I prefer to ski.
  8. 35 to 45 minutes. Time to Blue is more variable depending on traffic and condition of back roads from Nazareth to Blue Montage has advantage of cheap close hotels for overnight if I want to do 2 days.
  9. One of three reasons I went for Blue, along with the $60 6th grade passes and the VIP line at least being a special benefit for pass holders.
  10. For those who missed it, Montage is offering a $299 pass for a limited time. And the standard line still smokes the VIP line at Blue even if the lifts and location don't.
  11. Sure got a nice March save after a dismal Feb, just like last year.
  12. What are the rough hours you all plan to party? Not quite as early a riser as you folks but would love to drop by early afternoon after getting my turns in.
  13. If I do non Blue PA skiing next year it will either be when Blue is closed (but cant plan in advance where will be open), if somewhere gets a dump (can't plan in adcance) or on days I expect Blue to be overcrowded (so I will look for deals for never a line Montage). May also get a PS&R card again to ski around.
  14. Props to Blue for the free hats, schwagbags and cookies
  15. Big Bear would be the place for new snow tomorrow, as they got too much snow on local roads to open today, and are opening tomorrow for first time since snowfall
  16. Only impact the snow seemed to have was that it was better than if it had rained more. Mystery why Nightmare is a double black when it lacks bumps. After convincing kids to try it (as double black is scary for them) they were like "this should be blue" and they were right.
  17. Ok Blue looking like a better bet than JF for tomorrow
  18. So looks like JF may have made out pretty well in the 6-12 zone from that map. Any idea how Blue did?
  19. Sounds like Frost will be a better bet. More snow, less crowds.
  20. No better place to ski when there is a foot of fresh snow this side of MRG
  21. Plattekill could have its most crowded weekend ever (maybe even 5 person lift lines) if they are the only ones in the Catskills with power in all this snow (they still had it as of an hour ago, and 12" on the ground with more falling)
  22. Blue unless JF gets significantly more snow. Otherwise saving our tix to JFBB to ski BB once Blue closes
  23. I'm not so sure. First weekend of March with a much hyped snow storm could bring some crowds.
