  1. Will still hit Montage on the most expected to be crowded days
  2. Grew up in Jenkintown. First time skiing was a weekend school trip to Elk (made the mistake of taking the lift to the top after my first lesson and then struggling my way down the hill for hours). Then took a bunch of lessons at Spring. Then it was pretty much all Little Gap other than 2 days each at Doe and Belle and one each at Frost, Boulder, Alpine and Shawnee (and a few turns at the Split Rock ski hill). Then moved to NY area and basically skied only Catskills or occasionally Mountain Creek until I moved to central NJ in 2000 and started doing mostly PA again.
  3. I know there'll be no need, but I've been at the back of the bus long enough and it's my Rosa Parks moment.
  4. I will show up if there is enough rain free time in the forecast and enough snow still on the trails. Gotta pick up my pass and try the VIP line.
  5. Feels like coming home getting a Blue pass as from 80 to 88 about 90% of my skiing was at Little Gap and my first skis/boots/polls were used Little Gap rentals.
  6. Try some bumps and trees and bigger places to keep it fresh. I'd get bored just doing groomers at CB as much as you do.
  7. Warm weather do it? Rats I have one day left to ski CB and thought I might see you there. I couldn't resist the Blue pass deal not being young enough for the equivalent CB deal.
  8. Now that I joined team Blue I will be cool enough to meet GSS!
  9. So now that I am more likely to do both weekend days at Blue, anyone have tips on clean, bedbug free, affordable hotels in the area?
  10. Kids will be psyched. I had told them on Monday to get all the skiing they wanted in this year because they would be getting less of it when they aged out of the 5th grade Ski passports.
  11. Called Blue and they said they will be making the $60 season passes for 6th graders available for next year, probably in the summer. So I will get those when they come out and the 3 of us will be skiing Blue all next season for a grand total of $519. Plus their PA SKI Passports and some coupons I have will let them each make four visits there this year. Gonna start waking up earlier on weekends I guess. Can't argue with an affordable pass to the closest and largest of the places I like to ski in PA.
  12. Hello VIP line :-)
  13. https://m.facebook.com/SkiCamelback/photos/a.10150153334134022.296631.107967094021/10155668651909022/?type=3&source=48 Amazing they found him in woods within 10 minutes of being reported. Unfortunately nothing could be done.
  14. Awesome. When did you get that email do you recall? I would definitely get myself a Blue pass if I could get that for them.
  15. Nah, they confirmed no youth rate. True I do not make Blue opening or night ski like many of you folks do and I often hit Blue on weekdays to avoid crowds. I do often post what I will be wearing in case anyone wants to come say hi.
  16. You know you guys are salivating at the prospect of me joining team Blue
  17. There is hope. Live chat person told me youth rates have not come out yet.
  18. Probably :-) They never get to ski more than about 9 days and they would not all be in PA. So not a great deal for them.
  19. Gotcha, that makes it a tougher sell.
  20. Worth considering but I will need to know what kids passes will cost. Anyone recall what they charged for 11 year olds last year if you bought early?
  21. It is great that even on a day that judging by the lot had to be about as crowded as they ever get the segregation of expert terrain makes for a virtually line free experience for those able to ski the north face.
  22. Sorry 2/19 wise guy
  23. Glad we opted for Montage Sunday instead of getting drawn here for free lessons for the kids. Got a great 12-430 day at Montage followed by a great 8-1 day at Frost
  24. Nice morning at the Frost. 21 Runs in before 1. Skied right onto the lift the whole time. Enough coverage in T Bolt Glade and Happyland for plenty of turns there, as well as on the slope beside the first headwall on rivershot. Bumps on Exhibition had some ice visible between them but we're completely skiable top to bottom even for a mogul gape like me. Girls learned a new trick, skiing a run on their own (I could still see them from the next trail over just in case) and meeting me at the lift.
  25. In general they do, but they black out Presidents Day Weekend (as does CB). May try to use it there some other weekend.
