Unfortunately I would have to buy 3 full price lift tix at Elk, while either Frost or Blue will honor both our PS&R card and the PA Ski Passport so 3 of us effectively ski for a total of $20

Inclined to Frost as it is closer. Down side is it supposed to rain a bit earlier there, but figure Blue could be insufferable crowded earlier than that. Staying in Wilkes would at least make it possible to hit opening at either.

Sounds like, as per every holiday weekend, it was an excellent day to ski Montage. Never waited more than 2 minutes in line, though the lot was packed. Think Blue will be bad crowds tomorrow? Staying over in Wilkes ($34 priceline 2.5 stars) and will hit either Blue or Frost tomorrow.

Used the deal today withe the PA ski passports for 3 of us to ski for a total of $32 on a holiday weekend. Girls have now nailed every trail there except WL.

Agreed. I gulp before White Lightning. I just rip Razor or Challenge.

Yeah and they ski everything at Shawnee and Frost and have done one of the double blacks at Montage.

Mountain Creek drops the price to $100 and I would buy 3 and just go the weeks I have the girls. They have terrain that would suit them

There is a lift on the East side that covers the top 2/3 of the mountain and doesn't get real crowded as well. You need to be able to ski some of the easier blacks to access that, so if you are stuck on Belt Parkway it won't help you. There is also one trail on the west side ("way out" I believe) which is either a tough blue or easy black.

Only one lift at Hunter ever gets say half as crowded as the lifts at Blue. If you stick to the advanced stuff on Hunter West you will only wait in a line the one time you take the lift from the base area. And it is way more advanced than anything at Blue.

Awesome morning at the Camel on 2/10. Cliffhanger was the runbof the day, ungroomed with soft natural bumps. Also enjoyed the soft ungroomed conditions on Rocket (chunkier snow here) and Lower Cleopatra. They should leave Cliff like this more often.

Don't take the kids to CB much as they don't let me use the PS&R cars and PA 5th grade Ski Passport together. And don't tend to eat a real meal at a ski resort unless with kids. And often brown bag with them. Snacks and drinks.

Expert tip: the store and vending machines in the slopeside hotel are much better food and beverage deals than the ski lodge.

Might hit it tomorrow. Either there or the Camel.

If I move to be closer to skiing when I retire, it will not be to somewhere in PA :-)

Probably no just the CO trip with my girls. But also hitting Sunday River 3rd weekend of April as I have a work trip up that way

Work on the album has caused me to miss some days it is true. But I am still pacing ahead of my personal best skison last year.

Number of days I have not gone skiing this year when I would have gone if I had a pass = 0 If I have the time and weather and conditions warrant it, I go. I'd go more if I lived an hour closer for sure.

Nice day 13 runs with kids doing every trail here and going back for seconds on Bushkill, Country Club, Delaware and Renegade. A bit slick and no coverage in trees.

If kids and I get out early tomorrow, Blue. If we sleep in, Shawnee.

Awesome, one of those will be good for me and my two girls to ski on presidents weekend, when my PS&R cards are blacked out.

Because it is at least as far as 4 places I would rather go. Unless I get a free ticket or they get hit with a dump that misses PA, I would not bother. Also omitted Spring, Bear Creek, Big Boulder, Campgaw, Big Bear - though I am more likely to hit Big Bear as I have free tix for 3 on my PS&R cards.
