BMDI = Blue Mountain Drive In?
-
Sullivan isn't really a black diamond objectively. Lower Cleo is usually much more challenging actually as it bumps up.
-
Still get my one Vista run of the day as a closer. Start with Burma, end with Vista.
-
I could give everyone here lessons on saving money (and do). But I can't say I ever even consider saving $ by parking up top. I've been driving 1:40. I get to a sign that says Blue Mountain. I have two choices. A. Park and ski B. Drive more, park, ride lift, ski. Then have longer drive home. Not a real tough call. Plus I started coming here when this was the only lot. I parked at the bottom once when I was taking my daughter tubing. I do park at the bottom lot at CB. Less driving and less walking.
-
There's 3 TTB runs so I will hit them all. Burma is a good first run as it is a little out of the way from the 6 pack. Will otherwise alternate Main St/Shuttle and Lazy/Falls. If 6 pack gets too crowded may do Vista/Midway off double chair.
-
If I make it there for opening I will be skiing down to the 6 pack, likely on my only Burma run of the day.

Weekend roll call thread...12/16-17
Ski2Live Live2Ski replied to GrilledSteezeSandwich's topic in Blue Mountain
Probable for a rare early am ski day tomorrow -
Will be skiing early on Sat and most likely Blue as I have recording session at either 1 or 2 in Lahaska. Blue really not much more open than CB unless more is added. Both have effectively 3 TTB runs. But Blue wins based on having about 50% more vertical open, at least until it gets mobbed. Blue likely for me based on it being closer to Lahaska, my planning to go early, and my having bought a couple of those $39 tix in November that I need to use up. But if tonight's recording session goes real late it may not happen.
-
What do folks expect Blue will have open Sat?
-
Boomer will be the best run open in PA
-
Both are real into it. One is advancing a bit faster and she was the one with me today for a "daddy daughter day", as it was the other one's turn for a "girls day out" shopping and dining fest with grandma. About 4 times a year we split them up for some 1:1 time and today was such a day.
-
Was particularly cool at CB to note that my 10 year old daughter was skiing better than at least half the people out there today. Just zipping swiftly and stylishly around all the out of control fools, both the ones who were on their board/skis and the ones struggling to get back up.

Yeah you get flamed around here for anything other than mad devotion to Blue. Fortunately online flames do not burn and it remains a good place to hang out to talk skiing and pick up tidbits of info about the PA resorts and weather.- 165 replies

Lines up to an hour for a Little Gap run? Glad I was doing 6 runs an hour at CB.- 165 replies

Where is image from?

13 runs and done. Updated intel: CB shoots to Hava all of the Sullivan Mt open by Sat with 6 chairs running.
-
Was en route to Blue when I read the horrendous lift line reports and continued down 22 to 33 north. No lines at all at CB. Very nice conditions. Snowing lightly Taking a break with my daughter after 8 runs. Making snow on all but the open trail and they say they expect to have most if not all of the mountain open by sat.

December 9-10 roll call....

Probably hit Blue tomorrow with the extra terrain added. Lazy will be a nice run for my girl. -
You walk down the steps from the lot/north face area to get those things. Do you not generally remove your skis and walk a few steps to get those things?
-
They wouldn't need snow by the lodge to open the north face. It is right at the lot.
-
They could open a trail in the North Face area without covering the water park. One of the single blacks could be the way to go.
-
No doubt. Will not be boring for me tomorrow as I will be skiing with my daughter which is its own reward, and it will be her first time for the season doing something other than Shawnee.
-
Going to ski tomorrow instead of today. Not sure if it will be Blue or CB.
-
Fresh snow another argument for going to CB as it has easier access from the Interstate than any other NEPA ski resort. 3 miles of easy roads.
