December 9-10 roll call....
Ski2Live Live2Ski replied to GrilledSteezeSandwich's topic in Blue Mountain
May do Sunday if they get some more stuff open. Sat taking kids to CB. -
We will be on the day side, so catch you another time. Always prefer day, especially with the kids, and would rather not be on a trail when they are making snow.
-
CB plans same terrain as last weekend and same $25 price. Will probably bring my girls there Sat unless somewhere else is more tempting. Not a bad run for them, and they are happier with us all riding together on a 4 person lift. See you there SA?
-
Hoping for something worth skiing in PA this Sat - Captain Obvious :-)
-
And has been co-oped by gentiles at this point
-
If Jesus invited me to his birthday party I would bring some bagels and whitefish.
-
Montage has super easy glades on skiers right up top. Great place to try it if they get enough snow. Marked on map most years.
-
Awesome report. SA is just as funny a guy IRL as he is on line.
-
I'd say the only ice I saw was about 20 feet of Marc Antony after it got scraped off, around 11. There was also some hard pack at start of honeymoon. Nothing as bad as Midway had gotten by 11 on opening day.
-
Skied 920 to a little after noon, getting 16 runs in - almost all with Saltyants, who recognized me on my way to the lift. Nice guy and I enjoyed our runs and lift rides. Awesome morning. Free hot cocoa and cookies at the lift whenever I wanted it. Skied right on to the high speed lift all AM without a single delay. Nice blue top to bottom run with no crowds. Good surface, covered at least 90% of trail width. Only bit that was a bit slick was fairly flat. At $25 all in all the best opening day of the 3 PA ones I have attended this year. Blue (2nd place) got extra credit for pulling it off 8 days earlier, but lost serious points for that close to 30 min lift stoppage that got me to call it a day after 9 runs. Shawnee comes in 3rd with only a green open and less trail width - But every PA area that plays the "open by Dec 2" game is a winner in my book.
-
Quite an empty lot. Booted up and about to hit my 3rd PA opening day of 2017.
-
They posted on FB they will give a pass good for a return any other day. May well check it out for two runs and if it bites take the free return pass and head for Blue.
-
Stop the thread. It's getting much too druggy.
-
And can sing real pretty and is really sweet. I was very lucky to meet her and have her accept my invitation to try out in June, though we are collaborators, not a couple. Also giving singing lessons to my daughters.
-
Taller than my kids for now. Hurts less when I fall.
-
And one of the originals we are recording for our CD
-
Here we are doing a cover tune
-
Rehearsals are for the recording sessions which are happening Dec 1, 2, 4-7, 15-23, 26. Sun I can't get all together at once so I first rehearse sax player, then bass player, then 2 singers, then drummer.
-
So would I if I didn't have a recording session scheduled for Sat eve and 9.5 hours of rehearsals scheduled for Sunday. Wherever I go I need to be in Lahaska by 7pm Sat. Which doesn't rule out Hunter but would make it a challenge and would leave me completely beat for the session if I did it.
-
Hmm, CB replied to my query a out conditions with a statement that they "vary" but offer a free return pass if unsatisfied with conditions in first hour. Maybe Blue after all. Or CB, followed by Blue, if CB sux and I use guarantee.
-
Definitely CB for me as Blue confirms no Upper Main St. tomorrow. I will complete my tour of the 1 TTB run open PA mts.
-
I will be all in black but with white poles. My skis have some fluorescent green at their tips. Say hi if you see me.
-
True they won't have anything open as good as Midway/Lower Main St. But they will have a better lift and probably less lines, and I already spent a day doing Midway / Lower Main St. Blue gets Upper Main open, I will be there.
-
Might consider this for Sat if Blue doesn't open Main Street. Then I will have done days on all three open top to bottom runs in the Poconos this season. Make up for no variety days by at least having variety between the days.
-
Snowmakers blog indicated they are shooting for upper main street too, which would double the fun, especially if they can get some bumps going.
