Was particularly cool at CB to note that my 10 year old daughter was skiing better than at least half the people out there today. Just zipping swiftly and stylishly around all the out of control fools, both the ones who were on their board/skis and the ones struggling to get back up.

Yeah you get flamed around here for anything other than mad devotion to Blue. Fortunately online flames do not burn and it remains a good place to hang out to talk skiing and pick up tidbits of info about the PA resorts and weather.- 165 replies

Lines up to an hour for a Little Gap run? Glad I was doing 6 runs an hour at CB.- 165 replies

Where is image from?

13 runs and done. Updated intel: CB shoots to Hava all of the Sullivan Mt open by Sat with 6 chairs running.
-
Was en route to Blue when I read the horrendous lift line reports and continued down 22 to 33 north. No lines at all at CB. Very nice conditions. Snowing lightly Taking a break with my daughter after 8 runs. Making snow on all but the open trail and they say they expect to have most if not all of the mountain open by sat.

December 9-10 roll call....

Probably hit Blue tomorrow with the extra terrain added. Lazy will be a nice run for my girl. -
You walk down the steps from the lot/north face area to get those things. Do you not generally remove your skis and walk a few steps to get those things?
-
They wouldn't need snow by the lodge to open the north face. It is right at the lot.
-
They could open a trail in the North Face area without covering the water park. One of the single blacks could be the way to go.
-
No doubt. Will not be boring for me tomorrow as I will be skiing with my daughter which is its own reward, and it will be her first time for the season doing something other than Shawnee.
-
Going to ski tomorrow instead of today. Not sure if it will be Blue or CB.
-
Fresh snow another argument for going to CB as it has easier access from the Interstate than any other NEPA ski resort. 3 miles of easy roads.

May do Sunday if they get some more stuff open. Sat taking kids to CB. -
We will be on the day side, so catch you another time. Always prefer day, especially with the kids, and would rather not be on a trail when they are making snow.
-
CB plans same terrain as last weekend and same $25 price. Will probably bring my girls there Sat unless somewhere else is more tempting. Not a bad run for them, and they are happier with us all riding together on a 4 person lift. See you there SA?

Hoping for something worth skiing in PA this Sat - Captain Obvious :-)

And has been co-oped by gentiles at this point

If Jesus invited me to his birthday party I would bring some bagels and whitefish.

Montage has super easy glades on skiers right up top. Great place to try it if they get enough snow. Marked on map most years.
-
Awesome report. SA is just as funny a guy IRL as he is on line.

I'd say the only ice I saw was about 20 feet of Marc Antony after it got scraped off, around 11. There was also some hard pack at start of honeymoon. Nothing as bad as Midway had gotten by 11 on opening day.

Skied 920 to a little after noon, getting 16 runs in - almost all with Saltyants, who recognized me on my way to the lift. Nice guy and I enjoyed our runs and lift rides. Awesome morning. Free hot cocoa and cookies at the lift whenever I wanted it. Skied right on to the high speed lift all AM without a single delay. Nice blue top to bottom run with no crowds. Good surface, covered at least 90% of trail width. Only bit that was a bit slick was fairly flat. At $25 all in all the best opening day of the 3 PA ones I have attended this year. Blue (2nd place) got extra credit for pulling it off 8 days earlier, but lost serious points for that close to 30 min lift stoppage that got me to call it a day after 9 runs. Shawnee comes in 3rd with only a green open and less trail width - But every PA area that plays the "open by Dec 2" game is a winner in my book.

Quite an empty lot. Booted up and about to hit my 3rd PA opening day of 2017.
