Unlimited rentals package at Blue.
Ski2Live Live2Ski replied to GrilledSteezeSandwich's topic in Blue Mountain
Not a good deal for me as my kids get $99 season rentals at Ski Barn and can use them anywhere and don't have to pick them up and drop them off daily. If they grow, they switch them out too. Plus they come with books good for lift discounts -
Cause a person who just cancelled their Spirit card has 17k miles that expire in a couple months, they will give them to me for a free ticket as they have no use for them, and this R/T will use them for a free trip when they won't even get one way later in the season. Would likely go mid week so crowds should not be bad. Waiting to see how much they get open before deciding. Basically Jonesing to start skiing too. My 30 day record last year is not going to beat itself you know.

Often ski the glades alongside Tuts and those next to Lazy Mile. A little snow makes them nice over the snow blown in there. Not as good as those at Frost, but there are slim pickings in NEPA.
-
Yeah each way
-
Wow 17" at Loveland and Abasin. May consider starting the Skison first week of Nov if they can put that to good use and build on it. Spirit offering flights then for 5000 miles.
-
Thumb up on the end of sidewinder park. Now clear some more glades. Gotta be easier than opening a new trail.
-
It was a joke, not a terribly good one, but an attempt at least :-)

Tombstones are a dying business
-
Let me guess, not opening this year. They should call it Neverland in honor of when it is going to open.

Yep use Frontier CC. Got 40k miles when I signed up and am now over 100k. And good idea to give them some ski school there to learn a bit about skiing those conditions.
-
Hoping to take advantage of the fact that 5th graders ski free program in CO is not blacked out over winter break. And that I have enough Frontier miles for 2.5 round trips. Had been planning on waiting til they were more advanced for CO, but this deal could be too hard to pass up. Plus they are kind of Been There Done That on New England after making it to Snow, Bromley and Bush last year. Will have to find a sitter for one day they are out there so I can do some real skiing too Also thinking of heading there myself the weekend before turkey. May not make for my most affordable per day season ever, but I sent my last Alimony payment a few weeks ago which frees up the Ski budget a bit.

Got the kids season rentals. Then spent the rest of the day at the beach.

NJ had a county owned one when I was a kid. Bell Mt.
-
Sounds like a non issue if you read the story. The MTA owed the money to the state and made the payment in the way the state requsted. It has nothing to do with what size budget the MTA should have. I do support public funding both for subways and for ski areas.
-
What is the source of that info? As a regular skier who does not ride subways with any regularity it works for me.
-
I said the terrain was the most challenging. Certainly Blue has more challenging idiots who do not belong on the slopes they are skiing on. Only Hunter really gives it a run for its money there. Agree two passes would be silly.

4 months and change til PA Skison :-)
-
That is true, and financial woes could drive a decision to offer a great deal to get your cash early. Not biting on this deal personally as the extra drive means I don't want to hit Montage every time I ski the Poconos, which is what I would need to do to make this a better deal than the Pocono Ski and Ride Cards I use. Also most of their stuff is either too easy or too tough for my kids with only a couple just right single black runs. But wanted to share the info nonetheless.

Gore and Whiteface are also state owned. Plattekill, Hunter and Windham complain. But really only Plattekill suffers IMO, particularly because to get there from the Thruway you have to drive past Belleayre and go another 30+ minutes. As Belleayre gets bigger and better, fewer will do so. But it will never be a threat to Hunter and Windham.

Available July 25 only. Quite a phenomenal deal for the most challenging and least crowded terrain in Eastern PA.

Mayday tomorrow.

Sounds real. But I am hosting and headlining a 4 band Springsteen tribute in Princeton NJ today instead. -
Surprised to see CB is opening a new Alpine slide. Wonder whether they have A. Found a way to limit the speed of these things or B. Lost their lawyer's phone number.

Feel so bummed I spent next to no money on an awesome day and a half skiing at ABasin instead of staying home and mocking me for not spending more $.

Awesome. Still sunburned.
