Camelback also open to 2nd per employees there. Elk closing after 26th

First skis/boots/poles I owned were Little Gap used rentals. Main differences: - rental gear is a lot better 4 decades later - I paid for my skis myself (ok I paid for theirs myself too) - cooler Camelback logo They've been skiing on seasonal rentals for 9 seasons (after 1 of daily rentals). Now they will have pretty equivalent skis and boots to keep as their own and take to college in 2.5 years, rather than returning them each May. When they decide to upgrade that is on them Next I'm going to look for a car for them to start learning to drive on in a month. It will also be well used and the best deal I can find that will keep them safe. SMH at taking my kids skiing 120x and getting called cheap by someone who lives in a motel and whose most consequential financial decision is what beer to open at 10am

Happening at Cbk now https://www.camelbackresort.com/mec-events/equipment-sale/ Picked up skis and boots for my two kids - moving on from getting new seasonal rentals every year. $150 for a set of skis & boots ($125 if kids sizes).

Cute edit. Certainly would not call Blue steep. But it is better than JF or BB when it is not over crowded.
-
What other areas are in Carbon County? I'm sure it doesn't include Elk so the only contender would be Camelback. Nothing wrong with Blue as a ski area. It's just too crowded for my taste during peak skiing times 10-2 non work days. But crowds are a sign of an otherwise good product.

Alas. At least we still have Frost, Hunter, Okemo, Snow, Stowe, Sunapee, Wildcat, Vail, Breck, BC and Keystone to ski. Planning on another month of turns and hoping to make it my 2nd most days yet in a Skison. Was considering giving Blue a go Friday for $45, but sounds like they got crap from this storm. Will likely hit Frost or Hunter instead.

Did not do Goat. Did Chin Clip, Upper Smuggler's, Nosedive, Liftline, Haystack, Centerline and plenty of glades. Girls have done most of that too. Also skied lots of awesome glades with girls at Magic on Saturday. Skied 6 of the past 8 days

Yep - in for Epic Local for 676 unless Ikon adds a decent PA option. And the new Teen pricing tier on Epic Local ($547) makes it cheaper for us than last years pricing. So we will get 3 Epics and no Indy for 23-24 Gonna max out visiting Indy resorts this Skison - after my 2nd consecutive Stowe day today.
-
Hit West today on way up to Stowe. Nice to finally ski it in a fully open state. Pretty similar place to Blue and well worth 3 hrs of skiing as break in the middle of 7nhrs driving.
-
Nice to see Epic Local now has reduced price for teens. Bye Bye Indy. Epic for 3 (unless Ikon adds in PA)
-
Cool to see they are leaving money on the table while all the PA hills with one or two mountain passes are gouging folks.

Floyd's opening tomorrow

Nice soft snow on Floyd's and River Shot today, gently bumping up on the headwalls. No lines on 19 runs off Paradise lift 1030-2 Challenge and Thunderbolt were a bit thin and scratchy with no trees in play. Didn't make it to other side. -
3/5..clouds and sunā¦variable conditions.

Seeing as how Salty's Buddy Pass to Blue seems likely to be going elsewhere I had a real nice.time at JF today. 19 runs off Paradise lift with zero lines. Soft snow bumping up over course of day on River Shot and Floyd's. No trees in play. They seem to be planning to make more snow and stay open at least a couple more weeks, but I expect this will be my last day skiing PA this season barring a March snowstorm. Heading up to Hunter Tues on way to 2 days at Stowe -

I know this. Try to keep up dude. -
ORDA keeps their pricing at last year's level - making it a more attractive option as others are raising theirs. The passes with no holiday blackouts (the only ones I would consider are) Belleayre 669 adult, 369 20s, 339 teens, 239 youth All ORDA 859 adult, 699 20s, 439 teens, 339 youth And they throw in the rest of this year and summer activities and buddy tix So for the 3 of us it would run $1547 Not a bad price for that, but it means at least a 6 hr r/t every time we ski meaning we generally do all overnight trips. Will pay a bunch in gas/tolls/lodging.

Sunday would be the day I would hit Blue this season if Salty's buddy pass freed up. If not, I will enjoy the beautiful view of the Lehigh River from JFrost, where I hear some of the glades are now skiable. Also playing guitar for Grease this weekend. Opened last night, shows at 7 tonight and at 1 and 7 tomorrow. -

Planning to ski Hunter 3/7, Stowe 3/8-9 Might hit JF Sunday 3/5 and some combo of Catamount/B.East/Magic/Greek 3/11-12 Should be the best stretch of skiing yet this season -
The top of the mountain is honestly irrelevant to me unless the gladed areas off Snake are open. And based on topography doing top to bottom runs confines you to the least exciting parts of the northface. So I'm not really troubled by it. It is nice that the northface lift ride is kept to reasonable duration by not covering the lame part of the mountain. It's like the cool layout Blue had for half of their trails before they removed the lifts with smaller lines that let you skip homestretch. It's all about Rattler, Cannonball, Smoke, Boomer, White Lightning with occasional variety from Lower Fast Track and Lower Runaway.

Not like it's worth anyone switching from Montage to Mtn Creek or Blue Knob to get a better deal. Perhaps this brings them close enough to prices of Blue and Camelback that some will make that leap. Moat likely it will lead more folks to switch over to the glory of the Indy and/or Epic passes.
-
I think I'd rather eat money left on the table than eat the frozen excrement they call šat Montage snack bar.
-
Up by $50 next year to $549/$499 renewal No discount for young uns
-
Montage upped their prices by $50 for next year - which is a bit more than rate of inflation New passes now $549 Renewing passes now $499 Presumably Indy Add On will again be available Still cheaper than Blue or Cbk (unless you consider their teen/child rates which Montage does not offer). More expensive than Shawnee's prices for last year - but we will see what Shawnee does this year.
