  1. Maybe they should rename it brownstretch for this weekend
  2. 1000 foot vertical at Elk is verified by at least a couple external sources.
  3. Sounds fun. Didn't stick with it? Beautiful Guitars tnt!
  4. Not too many guitars. This will make 7 for me and 1 for each kid. Plus 2 keyboards, a mandolin, and a PA.
  5. I'd take Elk over anywhere else in Eastern PA. But not over three places in the Catskills that are 15 minutes further from me.
  6. Medium rare
  7. Premier. Nobody seems to have any deluxe ones other than the $7k hand autographed variety. And something like that would be a lot less fun as it would more stay in its case as an investment than be something to use on gigs. There is a 45 day return policy on Premier, so if I found an unsigned Deluxe in that time I might consider upgrading.
  8. Yes, I included that. The amount I actually gave to Blue was only $28 (plus one cocoa) $ saved compared to paying window prices for lift tix this season alone paid for this sweet gem that is getting delivered to me tomorrow. I spend $ when it counts. https://m.facebook.com/DAngelicoNY/photos/a.227676510695155.52820.227668624029277/1156272954502168/?type=3&source=48
  9. Sorry, miscalculated. $64 for 7 Blue tix.
  10. Pfft. Total price paid for 7 Blue lift tix this year = $76. Just used them at off peak times when I could spend more time skiing than standing in line. Cliffhanger, Pharaoh and Nile Mile off Stevenson lift.
  11. Nice to see Elk reopening with most of their terrain still in play, including most of their blacks. CB even more open with all their blacks in play and very little closed other than the middle area dominated by terrain parks. Let's see what Blue has to offer for the weekend.
  12. Yeah I could get up crazy early to ski Blue on a peak day. Or I could get up at a reasonable time and enjoy skiing almost anywhere else. Winner for a peak day: almost anywhere else.
  13. If you aren't a complete ass, then it is incredibly frustrating that people do that.
  14. If there is no decent skiing to be had, Sat is opening day at 6 Flags.
  15. At peak times it is less a long lift line and more a pushing and shoving mob trying to get to the point they can form a lift line. Or at least it was the last time I was there at a peak time. You would have to pay me to deal with that crap again.
  16. I don't ski Blue at peak times. I was there 5 times this year and never waited in an over 5 minute lift line. But I do ski a lot of other places at peak times, and never waited in an over 5 minute lift line at any of them either.
  17. Yeah if I were going to have a pass it would likely be at Blue due to VIP line, but not having a pass I find Blue the most frustrating place in eastern PA at peak times.
  18. I like CB. Much less crowded than Blue on peak days (or at least easier to avoid crowds). And while runs are shorter there are more of them.
  19. Elk site says they expect Sat 4/1 to be their last day. But maybe it's an April Fools joke.
  20. The only plus of juice boxes instead of juice bags is when I break out the boxes I get serenaded as the "Juice box Hero" notwithstanding my kids not being American citizens (not foreigners) Try to keep up, they turn 10 in 3 weeks. Empty calories are no good for kids. When I was at Blue Sat I kept looking for someone who lived up to your reputation for rotundness to say hi, but did not see anyone that seemed large enough to match your legend.
  21. $35 for 3 of us to ski? Cripes, we could go to a movie matinee for that kind of bread and even buy a popcorn. Yeah Capri Sun flavored water (less calories than juice) are the kids' warm weather go to portable beverage. Easy to fit 2 in my shell.
  22. That's ok, we can do BYO juice bags if it is warm and sip them oudoors. At least I will be buying 1 $28 ticket for the three of us to ski (thanks to 4th grade ski passports) rather than just trying to squeeze a little more value out of my pass like you cheapskates.
  23. Nice. Might make it back with kids Saturday for day 6 at Blue, depending on how their status compares with CB and VT Skiing with slightly less driving.
  24. Not whining, I was there yesterday and never ski a PA hill 2 days in a row as it gets too reperitive. Just keeping score.
  25. Camelback is open today as is Bear Creek and every Pocono area. The only places closed in eastern PA are Blue and Spring (which had said they would be open today but instead ended their season after yesterday). Mountain Creek in NJ also closed for season. In the running for next weekend still: Blue, Camelback, JFBB and Elk
