Forecast for Montage tomorrow learn up around 2. If I were going to ski in PA tomorrow, I would go there for closing day.

Had fun til 2. Probably my last trip to Blue this year as I am not optimistic as to how much will survive the coming waves of rain. But nice to have a 5th day here and 25th overall.

Got my ticket, ready to ski

I don't enjoy it to be worth a 3.5 hour round trip and a ticket purchase. If I am there and have a lift ticket already, a few drops won't stop me.

Rough start and I would have said it was awful in late Feb but it has recovered nicely. Already skied 3 more days than the max I skied in any other season, and I am not done.

Yeah I don't put any credence in forecasts a week off, I was just misreading my app thinking the Sunday it describes was this Sunday

Benefit = it is the place with the smallest chance of rain of those I like to ski. If rain remains that unlikely, a $28 ticket will not keep me away.

My bad, that 20% at Montage is for following Sun. Blue tomorrow AM looking like the way to go.

Looks like the best shot for NEPA skiing this weekend is Montage which is now showing only a 20% chance of rain on Sunday (the last day they are open for the season)

If they have HBO.

Sesame Street isn't going anywhere as it airs first on HBO. Other PBS programs and their rural stations (that get fewer donations) are at risk. So those poor kids whose rural schools are going to get decimated by shifting public school funds to voucher programs and who dont generally subscribe to HBO will alsolose the benefit of S.St. and grow up even dumber and more likely to vote for Republicans.

Ski your cares away. Work is for another day.

Right anyone that forecasts weekend rain at ski areas is definitely "fake weather" :-)

Hourly forecast only goes out 48 hours but it shows (for Blue) 50% chance at 8 up to 55% for 9 and 10. Will see how it evolves between now and Sat.

Weather Channel App (same source as Weather.com) says 80% chance rain Sat and 50% chance Sunday at Blue, pretty similar for CB (90% Sat there) and Montage (60% Sat). Looking at 1/4" rain Sat at Blue

At this point the forecast looks a bit better for Sunday than Saturday but pretty dismal for both days - for Blue as well as Poconos. Looking at the forecast for rain Sat through Tues and then again for rain next weekend, I would not fault some ski areas in PA for calling a sooner end to the season. Still hope to get out in PA again if it does not mean doing a Gene Kelley ("I'm skiing in the rain")

That is the plan. Keeping it for a while as the points are worth 50% more if used on travel than if redeemed for cash (worth only $1000 in cash), so going to use as much as I can for travel (hence all the vacas I have booked), then transfer the rest to my no fee Chase card. I game CCs almost as well as I game lift tix :-)

For some reason they keep offering me more cards with better reward deals, notwithstanding my paying in full every month. Chase just gave me $1500 worth of ultimate reward points for taking a card with a $150 annual fee.
