Wow - looks like things are upgraded a bit for the mountains. Snow here in jersey is super light powder - if it's the same, and less windy there, you guys could have a great day today.

I wonder where they come up with the double black rating for nightmare. I mean, also for Razors and challenge, but particularly NM...

weatehr.com seems to have upped the call for all the mountains. blue now looks like 3-5 overnight with 8-12 tomorrow. JF I think was 1-3 overnight and 5-8 tomorrow. Central NJ 5-8 tonight 12+ tomorrow. depending on how long it lasts, I might have trouble getting out of jersey Sunday. Maybe this becomes a late morning>early evening kind of day..... elk still skunked.... MC 1-3, 5-8....

oh jeez. That's a lot of snow.

Blue still leading this morning on weather.com with 5-8 predicted. JF and MC 3-5.... Honestly, if this thing hits my county the way they are predicting, probably won't be going anywhere...but I think we'll head to blue if we can!

OK, well, I'm counting on you locals to keep us informed! I'll be in my NJ bunker with my generator standing by....

Yeah, I was thinking about that too....blue and CB, will just immediately groom everything, which is a drag. At lest at JF, there are a few more longer graded areas, and a few spots they leave engrossed. Elk also - was there after a storm and they left a handful of trails alone.... But they are both gonna get skunked by the looks of it. Blue seems like the wise choice for me, coming from NJ - drive west on highways until the very end. Or mountain creek. We'll see. Snowmagedon approaches. Make peace with your maker. And go the store things you probably already have in the pantry.

Yeah, looks like snow might linger into sunday AM.... Hope we can get out of jersey and get to a mountain. Will be a fun day if we can. Was hoping to hit the catskills this weekend, but looks like they get skunked, and that drive in poor conditions doesn't make any sense.

Predictions for the poconos in general? CB? JF? Forecasts are all over the place.... I'm gonna have a car full of kids on sunday, trying to balance the 'storm total vs. insane crowd' equation.

- How much snow will Blue get Fri/Sat? - How busy will they be Sunday? - Will they be 100% open? - Will there be enough snow for some bike trails/t-bar/etc....? Yeehaw....hope it dumps.

I bet they add a water park.

Crap - forgot to mention floyds.... It was a little slick. River shot was much better because the guns were blasting on it all day. But there were a few tree shots on the trails on that side - solitude to telstar, or something like that - that were a little icy, it all being man made snow, but still fun for the novelty of it....

No one there. set out in the AM thinking we'd go to Elk because they had a favorable forecast. But it didn't materialize, so we went to the close JF. No one was there. Skied on to every fixed grip, slow lift all day. Place was 100% open. River shot had man made powder that was down right nice. Ditto for happy land. Everything else was nice snow. Bumps on exhibition were a bit solid. And you know, it's JF....nice, but short. But there were three families up there, and all the kids had a blast skiing together. And so it was a good day.

I'll be there tomorrow - think snow.....

Crowds weren't bad? Hmmm... Skiing monday. Was thinking frost to beat what I thought would be crazy crowds at blue.

I live in Princeton - looks like you are in Lawrence...we probably pass each other on the way to the pokes....

We do seasonal rentals for our kids. We get a BOGO coupon book for it that really encourages us to go to different places. Which is fine by me. I agree Blue is the best in the area, but it's still about 1000vert with big crowds, pocono death cookies and what not....it's not THAT much better than other pokes places to make me want to go there every time. Also, not being locked in encouraged us to get to the catskills a couple of times last year. If we had passes - or if even only I had a pass, we wouldn't have done that. I think a pocono season pass is perfect if you live within 30minutes and can take advantage of after work/school night skiing once a week, or get their early and bail when the crowds come, or snag a few runs last afternoon.....that kind of thing.

Only have sunday free. probably try for JF to avoid blue mob crowds. Unless you guys tell us Saturday wasn't too bad.... But anyway, looks like road right now.

looks pretty good all things considered. Thinking about next sunday. I'm sure blue will be open by then, but I'm betting crowds will be a mess there.
