  1. Tremblant. Late spring break, so we decided to go as far north as we could to hope for cold temps and good snow....we'll see!
  2. Was there from about 10 to 3. Packed. Good conditions though. Saw the t-bar but didn't ski it. Best bumps were on chute. Finally skied Razors this year....always closed other wise. Going to stowe this weekend and canada with family for spring break, so that was probably it for blue - and the pokes - for me this year. Great season.
  3. Never make it for opening with the friends we're driving up with. I'll look for a report from you on tomorrow's crowds.... You know, what can you do - crowds happen. And really, this season, we haven't seen any. Anywhere really. Well, Belleayre when one of the lift's went down, left a 20 minute line at the HSQ....that's pretty much the only big line. Blue night skiing had about a 10 minute wait twice.
  4. JF just never seems to be that crowded. I guess because no night skiing - keeps the young crowd away. Yeah, we'll end up at blue I'm sure, but I just cringe, remembering some mob scenes from the last couple years.
  5. Crap. Blue is gonna be a mad house sunday huh? Might go to JF instead.
  6. Nice! Hope to find and try t-bar on sunday with my daughter. There's a bike track I found and skied my last time there - wondering if you guys have a name for it....trying to figure out how to describe it without giving it away. Not that I really care, but it's fun to try to protect stashes.... Real glad you guys had a good day. I was at work for four hours, tried to rally family and friends for night session, but no takers. Roads here are pretty crappy. Would be a long drive. Ok, seems to me I know right where this is now - seems to me maybe the entrance is behind a structure?
  7. Ha. Coming up Sunday with my daughter and friends. See you on the T-bar....
  8. So all this was snow at Blue? Awesome. Mostly freezing rain in central NJ. Been a great season...looks like more snow this week....nice.
  9. I think I see it - this one makes more sense than the other spot I just saw. (But that first spot has potential. think I saw this in person on my way to a bike path a few weeks ago....)
  10. It was around when I was a kid, but we never went and I can't find an image of an old trail map....downloading google earth now.... Hm. Found something. Seems like an unusual route for a t-bar though....
  11. I have to say, I've been wracking my brain all day trying to figure out where the old t-bar line is.....
  12. Huh. You found it...I guess that's all it is...a hole in the ground.
  13. First time to Belleayre yesterday. Easy to love a mountain after 5-6" of snow. Everything was soft, tons of bumps, couple of ungroomed all natural snow trails, plenty of trees....fun hike to, but inbounds trail, with woods to explore beyond that.... Dreamcatcher glade, cathedra brook and the lift line of the tomahawk were the runs of the day. All in all, a really nice day. The two fixed grip lifts went down during the day which made about 1pm -2:30 pretty frustrating, but otherwise a great day.
  14. The hole isn't in the woods - it's on the edge of it. At the entrance of sidewinder, stay right, right of the snow guns. You end up on a little hill on the edge of the woods with some berms, and this giant hole. Very strange. But that day, there was some fresh snow and it was a fun little line. Just curious what is is in the summer.
  15. It's awesome that there are legit stashes when there is enough snow.... That reminds me - not sure I posted this before or not, but last time I was at blue, there was a really fun section off to the right of Sidewinder...if you kind of say off the main snow blown and groomed part of the trail....kind of climbs up and winds you around the tree line then dumps you back out onto sidewinder below the second of third jump... Might be a bike path int he summer because there seem to bee some permanent berms. But there is also a huge hole right in the middle of the section....a very large pit....what the heck is that?
  16. Ha. Love it. Holding the Blue Mountain secret stashes close to the chest...
  17. Where is the t-bar line? Is BB bowl between Razor's edge and dream weaver?
  18. Made the drive up to Belleayre instead. Great day. Snow was perfect. Woods open everywhere. Guess they got 5-6" Sat. night. Great day. Long drive, but worth it this time...
  19. Thanks. Just started a thread in the montage forum.
  20. Thinking about trying montage for the first time this weekend - how is coverage in the trees recently?
  21. Solo day trip. Trying to decide between elk or Montage. Never been to montage, but am intrigued by the talks of good trees. Like the bump runs at elk. How have these two mountains been skiing? Any opinions on the best choice here? (Of course, I might just go back to the blue as it's substantially closer, or at the other end of the spectrum, might decide to try to day trip belleayre....)
  22. I was there Saturday - had a blast. First time there. Yeah, they left some bumps on the side of a few of the steep runs- am I right in thinking usually those are totally ungroomed? Found a real nice glad right at the end of the day, and had some fun earlier on the bike trails. Funny that regulars think Saturday was crowded...I though it was empty. Would love to get back there this year.
  23. Moguls on Cliffhanger sounds fun. I don't think I've ever seen that bumped up.
  24. Well, that was fun. Snow was great, runs were nice. Just about all the steep front trails had soft bumps on half. And the winding blues had pockets of power and soft bumps here and there. Struggled to find skiable lines in the trees - snow was heavy in there for me on the skiers left side of the mountain. Some of the bike trails were fun though. And then, second to last run of the day we found a very well skied glade that was just perfect. Super nice, snow was soft and the scene was just beautiful. Really great day. Very much enjoyed the mountain, the vibe, Roxbury, everything.
